El Salvador may not be the dream vacation for everyone in the world, which is exactly why it’s such an appealing country to visit. It’s a land of beauty and country filled with historical and cultural attractions. Those things, along with the fact it’s not crowded with tourists, make it a perfect destination. Here are some of El Salvador’s appealing attractions: Tazumal is a Mayan archaeological site. It’s a place of history featuring a pyramid rising to nearly 75 feet, as well as the remains of smaller pyramids and tombs. Lake Ilopango is a lake inside the crater of a volcano. Don’t worry about wearing a swimsuit as many of the locals just jump in in their normal clothes! So make sure to bring a change of dry clothes to put on after, and stop at a nearby town to eat a good lunch. San Salvador is the capital city of El Salvador. Spend an afternoon in one of the many museums, like the Museum of Words and Images, and then take a taxi just outside of the capital and go on an evening hike up Devil’s Door to the best lookout peak in the country.
