Great Stay
By emdoubleu
We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The property and rooms were very clean and modern. The hotel's location is very convenient as it [More] is connected by a walkway to Shinagawa Station. We will most likely revisit this hotel during our next stay in Tokyo. [Less]
3 night stay
By Pumplekin
Excellent location just across from a Shinigawa station, a major hub with both Shinkansen and local Tokyo services. A slightly more funky boutique feeling than most intercontinentals, but this was [More] exactly what we wanted on this 3 day stay and were more than happy with everything the hotel provided. [Less]
Convenient location, beautiful hotel, excellent staf
By Asquared101
The Strings is located right next to the Shinagawa Train Station in Tokyo, so it's very easy to travel to and from this location. I didn't get to experience the restaurants, but the breakfast buffet [More] is fantastic. The food is delicious and designed for an international audience (local foods from Japan, right next to more Western and European style meals) Rooms are cozy, with plenty of room for two travelers. My Girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay there. We would have liked to stay a few nights. [Less]
First class service and comfort
By JENPETADAM
This was our second visit to this hotel in a month and were delighted to return to it. We were greatly impressed by the extremely courteous and helpful staff, the comfort of the room and the spacious [More] and pristine public areas. The views over Tokyo Bay was the reason for our choice of this Intercontinental over the other two in the city and we were not at all disappointed. We would happily return again and warmly recommend. The club lounge is outstanding in terms of variety and quality of food and beverages and the staff are exceptional. [Less]
Friendly, Attentive Service
By Tygger22
As a base in Tokyo this provides everything a traveller can need - knowledgeable, helpful staff; a restful and well-equipped room; and good location with no less than 3 different rail/subway lines [More] within a short walking distance of the hotel (there is a complimentary shuttle to 2 of these, whilst the third is less than 300m from the lobby) [Less]
Excellent hotel
By RPL1980
The hotel lobby is beautiful. The rooms are modern and spacious with nice views of either the city of the bay. The restaurant selection is very good. The staff must be commended for being extremely [More] helpful and attentive. Check-in and check-out was very fast. The hotel is located close to Hamariyku Garden and about 1/2 hours walk from the Imperial Palace Gardens. I can give the hotel my warmest recommandations. [Less]
Great location to explore Tokyo
By DBogda
This was my fifth stay in this hotel. Main reason I chose it that it has an excellent location in a wonderful neighborhood in Tokyo, with an easy access to all major tourist attractions. There are [More] four metro lines passing by, and one can easily walk to Ginza/Marunouchi area from the hotel. Just across the street are lively Akasaka and Roppongi areas of Tokyo. Next to hotel is also one of the most picturesque streets - Sakura zaka - especially during sakura season, which is great a pleasure to walk through. Also worth mentioning is the whole ARK hills complex where the hotel is located, with lovely cafes and restaurant. This is my favorite spot to start a day in Tokyo. As for hotel itself, it still looks great and is maintained perfectly. Best asset is certainly the view one gets from the room, Try to get a room on a higher floor it's really worth it. It really doesn't matter on which side you are - you will either have a view of the imperial gardens and parliament, Tokyo Tower or Mount Fuji (depending on visibility). All are just magnificent. Rooms do tend to be small for standards one would expect from an Intercontinental. I've always stayed in a junior suite, but it also doesn't offer too much space. It's sufficient for stay, but offers very little storage room for your stuff and after a bit of shopping, the room can get crowded. Service is excellent, and tentative, exactly as one would expect from Japan. My only complaint is the front desk, which can get very busy, as hotel is huge, which lead to a of frustration during check-in and check-out process. Worth mentioning is that most of the time, priority check-in counter is not working. [Less]
Attention to detail
By MDI33
I recently stayed at the Intercontinental ANA in Tokyo. From the time I checked in I was treated to a high quality hotel experience. From the quality of service to restaurant fare to hotel room [More] features I was impressed. The hotel is staffed in every respect so that I never had to wait more than a minute at the front desk, waiting to be seated at the restaurant, for laundry service or for the Concierge. The location was excellent for my purposes with commuting / travel options readily available. I would recommend this hotel property to my colleagues traveling to Tokyo. [Less]
