Things to See

There is incredible beauty on land in Cozumel, yet people often visit the island mainly to witness underwater life while snorkeling or scuba diving along incredible offshore reefs such as Palancar or Colombia. If you need lessons, there are resources available to help you gain experience. Mini submarine tours are perfect for those seeking an alternative to snorkeling but still wish to view underwater wonders. Dive into Cozumel’s rich history by visiting several Mayan archaeological sites at San Gervasio or El Cedral. Additionally, there are beaches and parks perfect for soaking up Mexico sun and seeing wildlife.

IHG has hotels near Cozumel and on the island itself, with a wide range of amenities to suit your preferences. Book direct on our website for a comfortable and memorable stay.

Where to Stay

Most attractions in Cozumel are centrally located, so deciding where to stay depends on personal preference. Downtown San Miguel is the lone city on the island, with local markets, food stands, restaurants, beaches, and other attractions within walking distance. The Costera Norte region has more popular beaches, and gives you the option to explore Playa San Juan and Playa Santa Pilar, while Costera Sur is known for stunning views, diving, and snorkeling.

How to Get to Cozumel

Cozumel International Airport is located on the Caribbean coast, close to Cancun. Many visitors choose to fly into Cancun due to higher availability of flights. You can travel by bus to Playa del Carmen and take a ferry to Cozumel. Once within the city, walking, renting a car, or taking a taxi are great options.

Better sleep than at home
By Tony
Nothing bad to say. We had to make a last minute change and extend our stay. The staff worked very hard to help us even though it was a busy Easter week. Snorkling at the hotel is great, although [More] be careful not to feed the fish as they can be overly friendly. [Less]
Good quality hotel, but seemed overpriced
By Tony
Pros: -Good service for the most part -Friendly, helpful staff in all departments. Concierge was great when it came to assisting with a reservation issue that came up with an excursion we had [More] planned. -Food and drinks were good, but slightly pricey Opportunities: -Price is high for what you get in my opinion. Cost more than many all inclusives in the area -Room conditions could be improved (our indoor shower was broke, cracks in counters, air conditioning didn't get cooler than 75 degrees Fahrenheit regardless of what we set thermostat to) -Only one free large bottle of water provided each day, you have to purchase additional bottles. Additional comments: -We assumed this hotel would be geared more toward adults/couples, but there were numerous families with children here as well. Not an issue if that is what you are looking for. I thought this resort was absolutely beautiful everything exceeded our expectations I only had two issues first of which was Internet which was resolved quickly by the very knowledgeable staff my [More] second issue was I requested a room upgrade due to some privacy issues we had with our existing area it was pointed out to me I would not receive the upgrade due to the fact I used points for my entire stay I was disappointed in the fact that using points I seemed to be treated like a second-class Guest I think the hotel staff forgets how much I paid for those 222,000 points that I receive yearly that fact did disappointment but I definitely would stay at this resort again [Less]
