Known for its amazing crystal blue seas, sightseeing excursions, motorcycle tours, dolphin swimming experiences and fun bars, Cozumel stands as one of Mexico’s top destinations for a relaxing and adventurous vacation. Hotels in Cozumel are often right on the beach, offering sun and sand just footsteps from your room. IHG® has accommodations catering to all of your must-do activities during your Cozumel visit.

Things to See

There is incredible beauty on land in Cozumel, yet people often visit the island mainly to witness underwater life while snorkeling or scuba diving along incredible offshore reefs such as Palancar or Colombia. If you need lessons, there are resources available to help you gain experience. Mini submarine tours are perfect for those seeking an alternative to snorkeling but still wish to view underwater wonders. Dive into Cozumel’s rich history by visiting several Mayan archaeological sites at San Gervasio or El Cedral. Additionally, there are beaches and parks perfect for soaking up Mexico sun and seeing wildlife.

Hotels in Cozumel

IHG has hotels near Cozumel and on the island itself, with a wide range of amenities to suit your preferences. Book direct on our website for a comfortable and memorable stay.

Where to Stay

Most attractions in Cozumel are centrally located, so deciding where to stay depends on personal preference. Downtown San Miguel is the lone city on the island, with local markets, food stands, restaurants, beaches, and other attractions within walking distance. The Costera Norte region has more popular beaches, and gives you the option to explore Playa San Juan and Playa Santa Pilar, while Costera Sur is known for stunning views, diving, and snorkeling.

How to Get to Cozumel

Cozumel International Airport is located on the Caribbean coast, close to Cancun. Many visitors choose to fly into Cancun due to higher availability of flights. You can travel by bus to Playa del Carmen and take a ferry to Cozumel. Once within the city, walking, renting a car, or taking a taxi are great options.

Off Season is the best season
By Purdue91
Just returned from a long weekend. We stayed the first weekend after USA Labor Day. It is the start of the off-season and it truly was an off season. The hotel was 10% occupied. No joke. There was no [More] fighting for a lounge chair by the pool or the beach. No wait for a drink. No need for reservations at the restaurants. It was great. We picked a great time to visit. The staff was fantastic. Check in was smooth. Room was clean and comfortable. We did not notice any shortage of staff. You could tell they were using the time to paint and freshen up. We snorkeled right on the property. Fish everywhere. Sunken boat just off the property and within the roped off water area. Take your camera! We also biked to the south of the property on the bike only road (that still has the occasional motorbike or small car). The hotel has bikes available. We did not realize that and had rented bikes. This is a great hotel to sit back and relax. [Less]
