Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value w/breakfast but bad mattress I love staying in Holilday Inn Express for business or family trips. The hotels are clean, the staff is friendly, and the breakfast is excellent. However, more times than not the mattress is of poor quality and that was the case for this stay. My wife and I were very disappointed in the quality of the mattress and pillows. Without a good night's sleep all other aspects of the hotel are degraded a bit. July 1, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Food service issues My wife and I received a very friendly greeting upon arrival and were informed that we had been upgraded from a queen sized bed to a king size bed suite! Found our room, 212, and settled in. I decided to get a cup of coffee and a cookie from the lobby. The cookie was fine but the coffee was full of grounds and stone cold. The next morning I went downstairs for breakfast around 6:15, but the room wasn't scheduled for opening until 6:30 so I went over to the lobby coffee pots and on the first pump I could immediately see coffee grounds so I showed the cup to the desk clerk. He said he would look into it but never left his computer or called anyone. With about 15 people waiting the breakfast area finally opened and I immediately noticed, as did many others, there was no coffee pots put out.. My wife had joined me by that time and she got her food. When I got to our table she asked about salt & pepper so I went looking. Finally I asked one of the servers and her remark was "Oh, the other gal forgot to put it out." She then went in and brought out salt & pepper shakers for each table - I helper her because so many customers wanted those items. I then asked about the coffee. Again, her remark was, "Oh, she forgot to put it out." She did get a coffee pot and I got the first cup. Guess what? Yes, more coffee grounds!!! June 25, 2015
