Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Housekeeping needs a wakeup call Nice place to stay but daily had housekeeping issues. Non smoking room smelled awful of smoke. Didn't get better as the days went on. Bill was right on checkout with zero balance, but there was a 600.00 hold on my debit card I found out when I got home. It was released but caused me stress. Private Shuttle worked great except when they couldn't return to take us to the French Quarter on Valentines night due to traffic. We sat in the Lobby 3 hours waiting only because we kept being told another 1/2 hour. Did not use again. February 21, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great access to downtown This HIE was a perfect location for everything we needed while visiting New Orleans. We arrived a few days ahead of catching a cruise just to visit the city since we had never been. We didn't realize that Mardi Gras was going on and this location turned out to be perfect for keeping costs down during that time. We were pleasantly surprised to be able to access the downtown areas so quickly from our location! Takes about 15 minutes. The surrounding area appears a little run down (especially the vacant hotel next door) but felt safe and was easy to navigate. A few tasty places to eat nearby. We were also directed to a nearby hospital by the front desk staff when the need arose during our stay. Very pleased with the folks we met while visiting here and would happily return. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service The Holiday Inn Express East offers great service and excellent accommodations. The staff was very courteous and graciously welcomed guests. Staff made every effort to ensure that guests were comfortable. The breakfast offered a wide selection of foods for guests. Coffee was available twenty four hours. The common public seating areas were clean and well decorated. Daily newspapers were available to update guests. Television selections were varied. The rooms were very clean , spacious and modern. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quick stay Several of us (maybe 30?) stayed here the Saturday night before a cruise leaving on Sunday. It was very convenient access to freeway and a short drive to the port. Reasonably priced for NOLA and type of stay. The desk clerk was very friendly and funny - she joined in on some of our family jokes and played along just like she was one of us. February 6, 2015
