Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Struggling staff This hotel was in a great location. Just south of Myrtle Beach, but quiet with a nice strand of beach to play on. The staff seemed to work very hard to tried to make guests happy, but I feel that their hands were tied by management. The lobby looked nice, but our room was old and worn. Some of the towels had stains others had worn spots that were so thin you could almost see through them. We had to take the top sheet off one night for a dark stain on it that looked like it had been washed a few times over, but did not come out. Our toilette broke, and it took 3 calls with 3 visits before we gave up and just stuffed towels around it to stop the leak since we were leaving the next day. ONe day the cleaning service didn't even bother to clean our room, and when we called to the front desk they didn't even know if any of the cleaning crew were around still. The one tey found told us she was supposed to be off and was trying to go home. She also told me that they didn't clean our room because we had a "Don't Not Disturb Sign" on it. That was a lie because I had to ask for one, and told the cleaning crew we were leaving and the room was there. I am a Platinum Member with IHG and this is by far the worse of any hotel I can remember staying in. I would not stay here again, nor would I suggest anyone else. August 29, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location We had a great experience, The hotel had plenty to offer, the staff was great, Phillip was outstanding taking care of our needs and Debbie in the lounge did a great job. Shelly did an outstanding job, I am an early riser and she had my coffee for me before the restaurant opened in the morning. Overall it was a great stay and I would recommend this property to anyone who travels to Myrtle Beach. August 29, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by the hotel staff were excellent and made me feel comfortable I enjoyed my stay at Holiday Inn Oceanfront @ Surfside Beach very much. The hotel staff were excellent from the cleaning crew to the front desk. Everyone I came in contact with were very helpful and courtesy especially the restaurant staff who went above and beyond what I expected. If not for the small size room and a leaking ceiling everything was perfect. The staff were very helpful with trying to remedy the problem with the leaking ceiling and I was satisfied with their efforts. August 26, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Surfside This HI property appears to be a converted property which do not necessarily have the level of quality and comfort expected of the HI brand. The room was small and the washroom was tiny. The price is high since it is on the beach, however, the value is not there since the layout of the rooms were cramped and the furniture, décor was ancient. The people and service was excellent though. August 25, 2014

The price for ocean front is good for being slightly south of the Myrtle Beach area. Less crowded beaches that are manicured and clean with life guard. Can't hardly go wrong with this hotel.
