One of the better airport hotels that I have stayed at but...
My plane arrived on time from Cagliari in Sardinia late in a Friday night. I was able to call the Holiday Inn Express at 22.25 to request the shuttle bus pick me up at Terminal 2.
said the bus would be arriving from Terminal 1 and then depart from the pharmacy outside of Terminal 2 at 22.40
I was standing waiting outside the pharmacy exactly at 22.30 and no bus arrived.
I called the hotel again and they said to wait for the next bus at 23.20
So as I write this review, I’m still waiting for a bus!
It irks me that no bus arrived to pick me up at 22.40 and I suspect the bus that originated in Terminal 2, didn’t even come into Terminal 2 in the first place.
This is an exact echo of my wife’s experience with the same transportation when she arrived at Terminal 2 a month ago on her way to the USA and, had to stay at the sister hotel which is the Crowne Plazza.
So far then, I am not impressed at all with the reliability of the hotels shuttle service from Malpensa Terminal 2.
Clearly the hotel needs to tighten up its arrangements with their transportation provider.
Check in was a lengthy wait but the receptionist was polite and attentive.
The room was adequate for my needs albeit I could hear the noise of planes taking off and landing throughout the night.
The hotel served its purpose eg. nothing out of the normal for an airport hotel.
Breakfast was very good with a good choice and range of foods on offer.
However, it took an age to check out because the receptionist was busy chatting in the back office and left the desk unattended.
The public toilets are a disgrace with broken toilet seats and terrible state of wood decay around the wash basins.
All this said, I will be staying at the hotel again only because it is convenient to the airport and overall it’s not a bad hotel and the rate is reasonable. [Less]
