I stayed here for a week due to business in Silao. I usually stay in Leon, but decided to give this new property a try.
First, the Good:
The hotel and rooms were very modern, spacious, and
clean. The staff was very polite, helpful, and professional. And the breakfast was EXCELLENT for a HI-EXPRESS. I detest the breakfast at most HIE's in the US, but this one was fantastic with chicken, beans, eggs, meat.
The room and atmosphere of the hotel was relaxing and very quiet. USB ports everywhere which is awesome.
I enjoy a nice firm mattress, but this mattress was like sleeping on concrete. It wasnt a poor quality mattress, just EXTREMELY firm. By far the firmest mattress I have had in the 100+ days per year I sleep in hotels.
The air-conditioner did not make the room nearly as cold as I would like. I would have preferred at least another 6-10 degrees cooler than the minimum temp.
They provide a bottle of water, but it would have been nice to have another bottle and maybe a beer/soda as well. The toilet was extremely Low-Flow which wasnt ideal.
If there was one wish for this hotel, it would be for a bar or restaurant to be within reasonable walking distance to unwind at the end of the day. I had no vehicle, and there is absolutely nothing near the hotel if you want a night cap.
The worst part of the hotel is that I did not receive my IHG points for the stay. I had to call IHG more than a week later to get my points. This was extremely frustrating as the reason I picked the property. I should never have to call and request points for a stay, but I have to do it about once every 10 stays at an IHG property.
Because the breakfast was so incredible, I would recommend this property, and I would give it one more chance. But if I dont get my points next time, I will not return. [Less]
