Fishing is a favorite activity throughout the state with hundreds of fishing spots — lakes, rivers, streams, bays and ocean — for experienced or first-time fishermen to try and catch a big one. Three common types of fishing are combat, deep sea and wilderness, and the three most famous types fished for are salmon, halibut and trout. With fishing being a popular sport, Alaska also provides the tastiest fish and other seafood to eat in its restaurants.
This northern-most state is home to Mount McKinley, the highest peak in the United States. Its summit elevation is 20, 320 feet above seal level, which the brave ones can choose to climb, but it takes about 2-3 weeks to complete! Mount McKinley is found in Denali National Park, along with thousands of lakes and ponds, several glaciers, hiking trails, tours and tons of wildlife.
