It's amazing that a chain hotel manages to make customers feel important - we filled out a breakfast survey, and put down improvements (to the very impressive buffet) as having Bali coffee and
mangoes/papaya and each subsequent day the manager brought us the coffee and fruit to our table without us even asking. That's impressive.
When I mentioned that my husband had been ill, he checked in multiple times and offered to call the doctor. Then they took a pot of ginger tea to the room. It actually helped.
Every staff member that passed said hello, and many stopped to make conversation.
The hotel is not a huge hotel with sweeping lawns like some of the others, but it is a friendly, well maintained place. It was very easy to spend time there. We had a 4 day deal which came with 20% discount off food, so the food was reasonably priced and we had many meals at the hotel. The food was nice too. The breakfast was the feature. There were so many choices, and each day there were new things to try, including some weird and wonderful local cakes. This hotel makes so much effort to make the stay special.
We could always get a deck chair on the beach. The wifi was good enough. The beach isn't huge, and when the tide goes out there is some rubbish left there ... be good if the hotel cleaned this up some more.
I'd also really like the hotel to reduce its plastic, and use refillable shampoo bottles, and not package the soap and other toiletries in plastic. We spoke to the operations manager and know that there is some work on reducing plastics happening across the holiday inn, which is good and needed.
All in all, a really lovely stay and we were sorry to leave. [Less]
