We were able to walk everywhere, only two blocks from Alcalá, the pedestrian street. The large room was immaculate, with very comfortable beds and wonderful white cotton sheets and duvets to look
forward to each night. (A chair near the door to use to put on shoes would be a good addition to the room.)
We were away from the elevator on the second floor and we found it quiet. We enjoyed the extensive complimentary breakfast and looked forward to the fresh papaya and watermelon poolside every morning of our 8 night stay. The local coffee and hot chocolates (with or without milk) were excellent, with tea options plentiful. There were 3 types of scrambled eggs, refried beans, tortillas, bread, pastries, yogurt, and granola, and juices.
Carlos, the manager, was born for the job. He met us at our table every morning asking how he could help us. He was a wealth of information and helped us with transportation questions. We used the tour company the hotel hosts to hire an English speaking driver to take us to Hierve El Agua and Mitla. The driver met our expectations and the price was fair. There are always taxis to be found outside if needed. The pool, although small and a bit warm, was good for stretching tired muscles after a long day of walking.
This hotel is an excellent value. We would definitely stay here again. [Less]
