You can dive straight into the ‘City of Angels’ from any one of IHG’s six Bangkok hotels. An intense and intoxicating metropolis, ancient temples, dazzling palaces and hidden street markets sit amongst towering skyscrapers, mega shopping malls and glittering nightlife. Even the crowded streets make for fascinating people watching, as the old collides with the new.
An ultimate destination for foodies, fine dining can be found at every turn. Try a dinner cruise along the Chao Phraya River, or cool off with cocktails and finger food overlooking the city skyline at a rooftop bar. However, some people say that you haven’t eaten Thai food until you have experienced the heady mix of flavours served up kerbside on the streets of Bangkok. You won’t find starched tablecloths and waiter service at these eateries, but you will enjoy some of the most exotic cuisine in the world if you are happy to tuck in amidst the buzz and chaos.
Food isn’t the only attraction to be found on the city streets. Haggle your way around a lively street market such as the Chatuchak Weekend Street Market, one of the largest markets in the world, and you’ll pick up bargain clothes, collectibles, souvenirs and more. When you’re done spending, take a stroll around the city’s more nostalgic districts such as Chinatown or Banglamphu. Here you can sidestep the neon lights and air conditioned malls in favour of catching a street opera, chatting to a monk or simply soaking up a 200 year old street scene.
Bangkok comes to life at night, so take a tuk-tuk ride around the city to find a club or bar, or board the BTS Skytrain to Th Sukhumvit and uncover some local hot spots. Alternatively, spend an evening watching Muay Thai kickboxing at the Lumpini Stadium for a unique exploration of local culture.

As usual everything was fine with our stay at Holiday Inn this time between April 21~28.
We would prefer a slightly firmer ( harder ?) bed.
The staff were very prompt in putting up a stiff board[More]
under the mattress to shore it up a bit, but we still found it a bit inconvenient as the board dimensions are shorter ( widthwise) than the mattress width.
Perhaps this could be looked into and rectified for guests like ourselves.
The service was exceptionally warm and hospitable as well as thoroughly efficient without at any time seeming " clinical"
Well done Holiday Inn - our favourite and only chosen place to stay in Bangkok.
Oh yes and the reservation - room booking - service is excellent. [Less]
For my leisure stay, I love this hotel due to its proximity to Chong Nonsi BTS Station and the eateries around are so affordable. Most importantly, I am a shopaholic and the hotel just provides me[More]
what I need at the end of the day, a comfortable and carefree accommodation. I love club hopping along Thanon Silom and I can do it without an issue and even if I feel a bit tipsy, it is still within walk distance, or a cab ride, which costs me less than THB100. [Less]
