We decided to visit BrisVegas for the Queens Birthday long weekend in June and were keen to check out the new IHG property.
We arrived at 8pm after taking the AirTrain from BNE and then made the
short walk uphill to the hotel. We walked into the Great Room as it serves many functions. We checked in and we're given our room keys and luckily they were still serving dinner so after dropping our bags we ate in the Great Room. The food was delicious and it was much better than venturing out into the rainy Brisbane evening.
Our room was very clean and although small it made very good use of the space and there was plenty of room to stow our bags and make ourselves comfortable for the 3 night stay. The room had a large chair in one corner plus a small desk with another small chair. The bed was a queen which was comfortable and there was a small wardrobe with hangers, iron and ironing board. There was also a small fridge with milk, a kettle, tea and coffee. The bathroom was very clean and a bit on the small side as the door to the shower swung out to also seal off the bathroom from the rest of the room. A very cool design to make use of the space.
The rooms also have a great blackout curtain that is lowered and this blocks out all outside light. The rooms are very quiet as there appears to be external windows as well as an internal window. My only gripe is the small blue light in the master light switch to allow it to be easily found during the night as the room gets very dark, however this light is bright at night so it may be annoying to some.
Breakfast was included in the room rate and I was very impressed with the food on offer. There were always four hot choices available each day; chipolatas, bacon, eggs (scrambled and omelette) and mushrooms or tomatoes. They also had an assortment of breads for toasting with various condiments, a selection of cereals, yoghurts, fruit, juices and a coffee machine. Very well stocked plus some takeaway containers if you had to head out.
Overall very impressed with the hotel and would certainly stay again when in Brisbane. [Less]
