Room was poorly laid out. Desk should have located next to window so that other people in room could get up without interfering someone work at desk. The bathroom was small with little room to move about. Food selection the same every day. No cookies available for evening. (Staff said manager did not offer cookies.) Coffee was cold or just warm and no hot water for tea in eating area. We could hear kids in hallway and rooms.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by shirley316 Staff andd location.
The most welcoming, friendly, caring staff I have received in awhile. The outside grounds were as beautiful as the inside lobby, hallway and room...clean, sharp and fresh!!!
The location was very easy to access, not a congested area, but within conservative driving distance to areas of interest.
We are senior citizens, so this was just a leisure journey to this area, and staying at Holiday Inn Express, Williamsburg North, surely made this a positive trip. I am sure when visiting this area again, will definitely make reservations at this location.

I had driven 11 hours when I arrived at this hotel at 1 am. Went straight to bed as I had to get up early the next morning to return home. All I wanted was a hot shower to start my day. I ran the water, cold. Fiddled with the faucet, tried again, nothing, still cold. I gave up, woke my wife and headed to breakfast. As we checked out we mentioned the lack of hot water. The clerk simply smiled and said the other guests (two school groups) had used up all the water, sorry. She made no attempt to offer any sort of compensation. It was needless to say a very disappointing experience. They could not deliver on the one thing I wanted and didn't really seem to care since I had already paid.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mee1 Needed some better planning
We frequently use Holiday Inn Express on travels. This time it was the hotel used for a wedding party. The same weekend, there were busloads of high school students also staying in the hotel. While in itself this is not a problem and the staff cannot be expected to control the noise of such a large group of students, there does not appear to have been appropriate planning for the kitchen area. Many of the guests in our party were unable to eat before leaving due to inadequate quantities of food. And, this is the first Holiday Inn Express that I have used that did not have evening coffee or tea available for guests. While this is available in the mini pots in the rooms, it would have been nice for our party to gather in the lobby with some hot tea or coffee on the chilly, rainy weekend.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by cssh Room not made, dirty bathtub
Room wasn't made up and we were still given keys to the room. Had to carry luggage up to room, uncover that the room wasn't clean, carry luggage back down to lobby, get new room and hope it was clean.
Found foreign (ie/not ours) hair on bathtub rim. Was able to wash it away, but I believe I pay for that service.
Bathroom sink was not cleaned after our first night. Was cleaned after our second night.
The hotel staff that works in the eating area were excellent, friendly, and very helpful.
