While the property as a whole wasn't too bad, the value wasn't and some of the staff were rude. Getting in and out of the property was difficult as was seeing the sign from the road. Probably won't stay at this particular property again. July 22, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not pleased with this location I travel for work monthly all over the US and mostly stay in Candlewood Suites. This is the first one I've been to and not had an excellent experience. Couldn't see the sign or the driveway. Then... Upon arrival the front desk employee was "visiting" with her friend. I get into my room and the TV doesn't work so I ask for another room. When I come into the lobby to get the new key and room number the employee was sitting with her friend in the lounge area. The next night while sitting in my room a man walks in! The clerk had not put the corrected room number on my reservation and assigned him to the new room I was in! The morning staff was very apologetic and fixed the error. Upon returning the next day from work I couldn't get into my room because of the room mix up. Again the clerk was very nice and she correct the problem immediately and apologized. I checked out for 1 day and accidentally left a new unopened bottle of laundry detergent and instead of it being put into the lost and found for my return the next day someone on the cleaning staff took it. This hotel is $40/night more and the rooms are smaller than other Candlewoods And of the 3 available washers only 1 was working so I had to go to a laundry mat and pay for laundry to be done since it was never available. I've stayed at. My company spends alot of money with this hotel chain and I'm very disappointed. July 12, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Because we like Candlewood.... we stayed, however, we won't stay at Candlewood Houston NW-Willowbrook ever again. It's the most awful location I've seen. Blink and miss the entrance. The sign is not high enough to see when approaching and if you aren't familiar with the area (like us), you miss it completely. Also, trying to get out onto the road is a nightmare. It certainly made us to not want to visit that location again. June 10, 2014

I booked a one bedroom suite so my granddaughter could stay with me after her graduation. The had my reservation wrong and my granddaughter couldn't stay with me. It was too late to look for another hotel as I needed a room right then since my husband was not attending the graduation.. I asked for a comp room so she could stay with me and the clerk did not call the manager to see if she could do it or offer it to me. At this point I am in TEARS. And then I asked for a channel guide for the TV since one was not in the room and the clerk could not provide one. Usually I don't do reviews but it was not a good experience. June 4, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bad experience. I recently went to Houston and decided to stay at Candlewood for the convenience of the location. It was not a good experience... The cleaning staff woke me up at 7:00 am. They knocked and entered in matter of seconds...they were not patient. That was rude!!!! they apologized and left. And 30 minutes after that it happend again!!!!! another cleaning staff member opened the door while I was sleeping! Her excuse was that she wasn't informed...????!!!!!!!! She spoke English well btw, so it wasn't a language problem. That made me have an awful experience since sleeping well is ALL I desire, expect and want from a hotel stay. Also I left an umbrella - I called and the front desk clerk said they will call me when they found it, and they have not called yet - so they stole it from me... I'm 100% sure I left it in the room. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL. June 3, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Week in Houston, Texas (Willowbrook)... As far as the hotel goes, it is a good example of a well-kept Candlewood Suites. Everything was 'as expected' and clean. The staff was very friendly and went above and beyond the 'call of duty'. The best part of any Candlewood Suites is their laundry. If you travel 100% of the time as we do, the laundry facilities are a huge issue. Theirs were clean and well maintained. The driers took a little longer to dry but since they were free, we just put them through a second round and everything came out perfect. Our big issue with our visit was not the fault of the Hotel. The 800 line lost our reservation, despite us having a confirmation number which they could verify. What we expect happened was the attendant on the 800 line did not understand English well enough enter our names correctly so they wouldn't honor the reservation because the name didn't match, despite the credit card on the reservation was verified as ours. By the time they canceled that reservation and entered a new one, we lost our room. After requesting a supervisor and being hung-up on three times in at attempt to talk to a supervisor, we finally got them to book us a room. Without making it clear, they then booked us into two rooms, NOT the room types of our choice, requiring us to change rooms during our visit. We were very irritated that our reservation was lost and then, after an 18 hour drive, were asked to change rooms early the next morning. So much for being Platinum members!!! It does little good. The only saving grace was the staff who offered to help us move and was very nice. This was not their fault on any level. They were upset over having to ask us to move and tired their best to help us through the uncomfortable procedure. My wife is handicapped so moving her again, after an 18 drive, was not easy. In short, the hotel was very good and we will stay there again when we go back down to Houston (Willowbrook) but I would definitely call the hotel directly and not mess with the reservations people who are incompetent and rude at best. We have stayed months at a time with Candlewood but have always called the hotels directly to make arrangements, we will not be using the reservations line again. March 9, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday stay Staff was friendly and helpful. Although small the room was clean and comfortable. Location could have been better as traffic was terrible (Holidays) and crazy. The bed could have been positioned better as it was very difficult to get into from one side. There is no continental breakfast offered, only coffee in the small lobby "store". December 31, 2013

My children live in Houston and we come for an extended stay every two years. The only thing I could say that would improve your hotel is lights on the sign on the street. It is a little hard to find at night. One big plus on this stay is you have changed the laundry so that I do not have to find quarters. A BIG thumbs up!!! December 20, 2013

We were promptly greeted when we walked in the door. Check in was smooth and all paperwork clearly explained. There were even well maintained bell carts to use. When we had an issue with the ac unit in our first room the manager was quick to get us a new room, bring our new keys up to us, and provide us with reward points for the inconvenience. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by The room smells like garbage With all my respect, I would like to express my experience due to my LAST stay at CANDLEWOOD Suites. I was on room number 300, this room stinks very hard. I asked to change me to another room but the front desk told me that the hotel was full. I asked for a refund but this was imposible, so asked for a deodorant to minimize the odor but it wasn't enough (2 nights) However, other Candlewood Suites close the airport on Tollway 8 at Houston smells pretty much the same #2 nights). Now I know why Candlewood suites have available rooms when no one else haven't. Unfortunally this hotel is very pretty on the outside but garbage in the inside. November 18, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Clean and comfortable Beds. Let me start by saying I was in town to decorate a nursery, so I checked in left and went to work. Got into my room 126 around 1130. Only to find out I had NO hot water. I called down to desk and she immediately offered me another room on the 2nd floor. She went with me to check and make sure the hot water was working, and it was. So I got my hot shower and proceeded to go to bed. Nice clean soft sheets, cold room, quiet, comfortable bed. Good night sleep makes for happy customer. I will return. September 25, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel My friend and I recent made a trip to Houston Tx,figured we'd experience something a little different since we're from California,and we booked this hotel for our 1 week 2 day stay. It did not disappoint! Every staff member we encountered were nice and polite,always friendly.Our room was good too,would have been a little better if it would have been a little bigger but it wasn't a deal breaker.definately made use of the kitchenette(we both like to cook).The bed was nice.The hotel itself always looked nice and clean including the outside pool,patio,gym..etc.Got our good use out of the gym,we used it everyday.We liked the location,almost everything was about a mile or so away..mall,banks,AMC theater,restaurants,fast food places,other shopping#target,ross,burlington coat factory,walmart..etc) Anything else such as Downtown,Aquarium,the Galleria mall,the clubs..were about 20-30 mins away.The premium outlets were about 15 mins away,DEFINATELY not bad at all.In conclusion, we enjoyed our stay at this Candlewood Suites location.We're already thinking about perhaps planning another trip over there,and we would totally stay here again!! In February alone, I stayed a week in a Candlewood in Lansing, Michigan and another week in a Candlewood Suites in Minneapolis. I drove straight from Minneapolis to Houston and arrived late where I had the pleasure of being greeted by a surly night attendent irritated at being disturbed. I was not impressed with the cleanliness of the room and the cupboard was pretty barren. A number of little things about this location were irksome - the coffee bar is poorly set up and the staff was just generally grouchy. Candlewood Suites has been my choice in the past but this is not a location that I would recommend. March 2, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Secluded, restful comfort with a few needs Good location, close to all amenities, comfy accomodation, great if you are OK without any room servicing of any kind. Kitchenette SUPER!! TV choices limited but OK, good internet service, business center alright when kids not watching movies on it. Split heat/AC a little loud and eratic, varied choices in Candlewood cupboard but pricing not in line. Overall.....restful, private, secure, and priced right for someone who can be self sufficient in preparing their own food and drink simply. Worst complaint was main desk chair......old, canted crooked, and not useable for computer operations. Best feature.........BED with many pillows.....and huge fridge.freezer.....SUPER!!!!
