I suppose not many chain hotels offer rates as low as this, but this particular Candlewood has a very unsecure parking lot (only a handful of spots in view of windows) and it is a very loud hotel-- you can hear everyone talking and walking in the rooms above and around yours. My coffee maker took about 45 minutes to brew, the showerhead had little pressure and sprayed in all different directions, the toilet flushed sometimes, but mostly didn't. The staff aren't particularly friendly or helpful but will respond to direct questions. December 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cozy, clean, great service and good value for money Enjoyed our stay with nice greetings, recognized for being an IHG member at check in. Was given a small gift and even a free room upgrade. Clean , bright , spacious room with simple but well lay out plan. Free wifi, coffee or tea. Convenient cup board room where snacks and small items can be purchased. Complimentary use of the laundry room but we did not need to use. Location is easy to access to I-10 . Car is needed to move around since there is no walkable nearby restaurant. Will use this hotel again if needed. Great value for the price. A bit more instructions to direct customers to hotel entrance would be helpful from the hotel sign since there is a fence by the turn of the sign and at night we couldn't see further down the alley to see the hotel entrance. We thought we had entered a private residential area so we had to call the hotel for direction to get to the entrance. This wasted us about 10 minutes driving around to find the entrance at night, even with the use of our GPS. But we were very happy with everything else. December 23, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hard to believe it was this poor Wear and tear on the recliner exposing underlying fabric, room not vacuumed and when i flushed the toilet in the morning, the toilet overflood causing me to sift through used toilet water to attempt to stop. When i couldnt' get the toilet to stop, i had to throw towels on the ground to prevent water damage from reaching the carpet. I stopped the toilet and notified the concierge. I was late to work because of these antics in the morning. Not happy about my company staying here and will be requesting another facility to stay at. As a rewards member for 2 years, I'm disgusted by this experience. December 5, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Fix toilets When I was there the toilet didn't work, I reported it and was given a plunger, as I was too tired to argue I tried plunging the toilet. When it overflowed and spilled over the floor I again reported it and was basically told "here are towels" I left after sleeping for the night with the towels on the floor. Ultimately I got my money back but I still wouldn't go back to this location. November 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great place! The price isn't expensive for the things that it offers. No breakfast, only weekly clean up of the rooms. Internet is decent and TV channels are good. The location is another good thing. It is really easy to get everywhere around San Antonio and of course a friendly staff. I would recommend this place for sure. November 21, 2013
