This was an excellent choice for a wedding party hotel. THe staff was great and the accomodations were wonderful. The welcome greeting pak for the wedding party was in addition to a PRIORITY CLUB welcome pak. We had a private dining room for the wedding party breakfast on Monday morning before departure.
I would highly recommend this propery for business, getaway or convention/party needs.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lash Priority club free breakfast
I was extremely disappointed that you did not offer the free breakfast on the priority club floor. I had asked at the reservation desk before I arrived if this was still available and was told yes. Therefore, I did not bring many of the items I needed to eat in my room. If I had been told it was not available I would have planned accordingly.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EFCfromRPB Great place to stay
I'm in the Hartford/New Haven area 3-4 times a year and each time I can't find a more convenient. cost effective, full service hotel in the area. The service, rooms, and even the "hotel food" are great. Becasue of it's central location, it has easy access to all the cities and towns in Connecticut. It is 15 minutes to Hartford or Meriden. 30 minutes from New Haven and only 60 minutes from Stamford. But best of all it is less than 10 minutes from Resturant Row (Main Street) in Middletown.

Nice hotel, however very thin walls. I had to hear a man talk to his girlfriend all night on the phone from the room next to mine. Be sure to get a room by the lift, long walk if you stay in the 90's on the floor.

This has been our favorite hotel for years and a tradition to spend New Year's Eve at this hotel for the last 3 years. This year we arrived to find a sign that the pool would be closed from 6pm-8am. It was 5pm and the highlight of our 3 girls night to swim. I spoke to the gentleman at the front desk about it before we checked in and he responded that there was a private party so they were closing the pool early, however, he could make it not close to 9pm to accomodate us. I was grateful and we continued to check in. Later we found out the private party was a huge, 4 club New Year's Eve party that pretty much consumed the hotel. On our way into the elevator with our 3 young girls was a man leaving with a joint in his hand. Not quite the experience we were normally used to at this hotel. We were very disappointed to have to stay in our room as to not expose our children to what was around the hotel.
It was not all bad...we had a great time and the housekeeping woman that brought us the rollaway bed and later mailed us a forgotten charger was a breath of fresh air. Pleasant and extremely accommodating!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by GHLPRL Total breakdown of management in an emergency
This was my third stay at your hotel. We have a son living nearby, and we had hoped that we had found a good place to stay on our frequent visits to that part of the world.
I have stayed in literally hundreds of hotels on five continents and Australia.
This was one of the two worst hotel experiences ever - the other horrible experience was a hotel fire on New Years' Eve - when the "managers" all fled leaving the guests to take care of themselves.
In this case, on Monday, November 5, you had a "hazmat" emergency, reportedly involving chlorine gas. Sometime around 8:30 am, the fire alarm sounded. I called the front desk, was told that we had to evacuate, and we left the room (I believe number 472) - and most of our belongings - immediately.
From shortly after 9 am until after 4 pm, we repeatedly telephoned the Crowne Plaza Cromwell. There was never any answer. During that same time period, I also telephoned the central reservation number for Crowne Plaza hotels at least four times. On each occasion I was transferred to your "customer service" people. On each occasion, I was told by your "customer service" people that they had absolutely no record of any problems at the Crowne Plaza in Cromwell. On each occasion, they made me wait on the line while they tried telephoning your hotel, and I had to wait, and wait, while nobody answered. On each occasion, your customer service people had absolutely no help to offer. They said their reservation system was "down", and they told me to call back. I repeatedly suggested that they telephone me when their system was back up again. They repeatedly refused.
My wife had I had a number of important events to attend in Middletown and Hartford that day. We did not know what had happened to the property we had left in our hotel room. We didn't know where we were going to sleep that night. Not one person in your organization seemed to care.
Sometime around 5:00 pm, we were driving from Hartford to Middletown, and it occurred to us that even though I had tried to call the hotel just before we left Hartford, we should drive past the hotel to see if we could find out what was happening. When we got there, all the emergency vehicles had left, and we just walked in the door and took the elevator up to our room.
Later that evening, I got a phone call in the room from a lady working for the hotel. She told me that she had tried to reach us earlier in the evening at our home in Washington. She told me she had had a conversation with our housekeeper, who refused to give her our cell phone numbers. I asked the lady in what language this conversation had taken place. She said, "English". In fact, our housekeeper does not speak one word of English. We had a rather disjointed conversation in which, at some point, she made an offer of some compensation for our experience. I made no response whatsoever. The next morning, the hotel manager informed me that she had told him that I had accepted her offer.
I simply don't know what kind of people you have running things at your hotel chain. They take no responsibility. They show no care whatsoever for your customers, and they are simply not honest.
I don't know if I will ever stay at a Crowne Plaza ever again.

We were at the hotel for a wonderful event-Bridal Shower. We used the Garden Room which was beautiful, food was great and the waite services were more than I expected. We rented the Governor Suite which is beautiful and was comfortable to all my guests to come a quick visit after the shower. Two negatives: couch is not comfortable and staff could not find a large knife to cut the cake which was huge.

I spent two nights at the Crowne Plaza for a wedding (held elsewhere) and found everything to my liking, including staff accomodating a special request in the lounge (where the bar is located) before the regular dinner hour. The gentleman (bartender) was solicitous and made us feel very welcome while we hung out, waiting for our pizza supper in another, nearby room. I was also pleased to see that you are "environmentally friendly" - I saw the note about not washing sheets every day if a guest or guests were staying multiple nights. Good for you!

The club was lovely and the service excellent. Our only complaint would be, and we did appreciate a complimentary wine, however charging $6/glass past one drink seems like a lot. We agree charging but maybe up to $4/glass not $6+. Again, the service and quality of food was excellent...charging $6 for a glass of wine for a Priority Club Member seems high...a suggestion, only....not a criticism.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by mika17 Fair Experience
My overall experience was fair and not excellent because as I entered my room there was a sock underneath the beach, which meant housekeeping didn't clean the room thoroughly. Additionally the bathroom was way too small, needs more space and needs to update the style of the shower. For this location needs to get better WiFi because it was hard to get a connection or to even have a decent conversation with someone, which was highly annoying. Even though the staff was very welcoming I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here at the Cromwell, Ct location.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by candid72 Ran out of items in room
There was not a great deal of care in getting our room ready for us. Items were not filled up so we ran out of tissues and toilet paper. On the desk was a half used pad and no pen.
Also, the closet door was off its track. We couldn't close it.
Not a lot of attention to detail on the room itself.
However, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the location and price couldn't be beat.
