NO ROOMS

I reserved three rooms for Thanksgiving as I was coming into town for the Chicago Bears vs Detroit Lions game (annual tradition and 2nd time at this hotel).
When I was checking in I was informed that they did not have any rooms ready as Housekeeping had not cleaned up enough rooms. The night manager gave us a room and told us we would be get our other room in a little bit just give him some time. He immediately said the second room would be comped due to the inconvenience. That was fine, we get up to the room and though I did not realize it until the next morning, it was not the room reserved.
An hour and half or so later, after a phone cal to the front desk I went back downstairs. The night manager was cleaning rooms and told me he would square me away next. They had begun putting other waiting customers in other hotels.Needless to say we did not get the other rooms and ere bunched up in this smaller room. The hotel did comp the stay.
HOPING THIS WAS A ONE TIME GLITCH, AS I WILL BOOK THIS HOTEL GAIN

Great staff

As I said further back in the survey the staff made the difference here. I just got to the point in my travels that I don't expect good service but the experience I had at this hotel made me think there is hope. I had migrated away from staying at Holiday Inn hotels and tried other brands but recently I have notice a change in attitude and this Crown Plaza took customer service to a new level. I don't want to be treated like I am special when I'm not just with courtesy and when the staff are smiling and helpful it helps me relax which is what you want when you stay in a hotel because for that night is your home.

This crowne plaza had the most personable, friendly, and helpful staff. I stay at different IHG hotels every week and this one by far tops others I have been too. The staff was excellent and made the stay great. Highly recommend.

filthy carpet

I travel quite a bit, but had not experienced the carpet in a hotel being that dirty. The spills and spots were old, and could at least be cleaned.
