Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by LAX CROWN (Lukewarm) For the price and location, not a bad...but not up to typical CP standards. Upon check-on, I was greeted nicely but assigned a room which wasn't cleaned. Opening the room door, an un-maid bed, towels on the floor, and the smell of trash left behind from the previous occupant -- not the most pleasing welcome after a long journey. My thought go out to the housekeeping staff who had to clean it the next day. Returning to the front desk, the clerk was lukewarm with her single apology, but quickly assigned another room one floor lower. It's things like this which make one really wonder about the true security of room key distribution. But to be fair, this could happen with any hotel chain. After finally obtaining a clean room, I notice the "sleep well" kit was missing. I do have to say, I'm completely in love with Crown's adoption of all Temple Spa amenities. So, I called housekeeping with modest hopes one could be brought to my room. Sure enough, a polite maintenance fellow brought one quickly to my room. Again, not bad..., but why should the guest have to do all the work? Overall, this is not a bad property, but be prepared for the sound of jet noises from the nearby airport and vehicle noises/sirens heard from inside your room. This property seriously needs to reconsider additional sound proofing for all of their guest rooms -- especially being so close to LAX. Cheers! October 4, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Party Time Stay here to catch a flight in the morning. Stayed in the Executive Club Level as this provides (generally) a quiet night. We went down stairs for supper and to watch some football games. Our server was very nice however, the food was bad. My wife and I both ordered a steak sandwich and both had green on the edges!! I have worked in foodservice and dont like to be "one of those people" but, I sent it back. Not trimming and/or serving something like that is a complete lazyness! Upon returning to our room we smelt a heavy odor of marajuana in the hall. The room next to us was having a good time and the smell was comming under the door in our room. Security visited them at least once and the noise and smoking continued well into the early morning hours. I checked out in the morning and explained my situation to the front desk. I was told that security had a note in the system to talk with the people in that room. I WAS OFFERED NOTHING!? Not what we were looking for with an early flight. October 2, 2013

I was also disappointed that you couldn't reserve a time slot for the airport shuttle. The rooms are good, beds are great but I was not impressed with it as a business friendly hotel. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waiting, waiting, waiting... If you go to the CP LAX, expect to wait for almost everything there. Though they have a priority check in for Platinum members, actually nobody is attending that particular line - waiting more than 30 min is ridiculous for an airport hotel. The bell desk is anything but friendly and helpful ("oh man, you wanna store these bags? The room is already full..."), neither is the bar staff ("yeah, we have some beers on tap... I am too busy right now, just look and tell me what you want"). There is no minibar in the room, the so called "quiet floor" is pretty much a joke, the internet connection is not stable etc. The only positive thing I remeber from my stay was the bed which was pretty comfortable. Why paying that much money for this hotel, if you have so many good ones nearby? September 30, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overnight stay with complimentary 7-day parking Our objective was to stay near LAX in a clean, comfortable hotel, and then be able to count on safe and covered parking for one week. Objective met! Since we got to the room after 9:00pm, and left at 7:00am the next morning, there wasn't a long time to experience the hotel services and room comfort. Overall, there was nothing we disliked about the very short stay. Would we do it again. The price was right and the timely shuttle service was just as they advertised -- every 20 minutes a shuttle would depart the hotel, and the same for it's arrival at the airport for our pickup a week later. I'm a first-time Crown Plaza user, but not a first-time hotel and long-term parking feature user. This superseded my previous experience at other hotels. September 27, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and pretty good service This place is located close to the airport. There is a lot of traffic noise day or night. This place appears to cater to groups or to the airline personnel since there were many waiting to check in late at night. If you are dining alone at the restaurant, do not expect any service or attention. After waiting for 15 minutes to get water and a menu, I left and was very dissatisfied with the wait. When I brought this to the attention of the male waiter, he merely shrugged his shoulders. Other than my experience at the restaurant, my stay was pretty comfortable. September 26, 2013

The hotel is geared towards ensuring you get the best sleep ever and it works. Despite this, this staff managed to find me a room and a bed. Perfect. The parking valets went out of their way to help as well. I've stayed in other hotels near LAX but this is where I'll go back. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good and Bad First, the good: Lovely room, bathroom clean and spacious, bed very comfortable, desk area great, lots of comfy pillows, all in all the room was great. Short line for check-in, free internet much appreciated. Only waited one minute in the morning for the shuttle back to the airport, and the driver was courteous and efficient. Now the bad news: Waited nearly 40 minutes for the shuttle bus at the airport, despite calling the front desk twice. Ridiculous! Then at the restaurant that evening, waited at the table for 30 minutes and was never acknowledged. They were incredibly busy, waiters were frantic, being yelled at by rude customers. I gave up and left, never having been served or noticed. I had been to the restaurant earlier to grab a snack when they were not busy and had no problem, so obviously it was a problem after 7pm when the restaurant was full and they appeared to be understaffed. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Valet parking charge error I had a confirmation and a receipt when checking out with the bill amount of $186. When I received my credit card statement the hotel charged for $214. I called the hotel and I was told that the extra charge was for valet parking. I explained to her that I did not use valet parking. The accountant told me she was going to investigate but didn't call me for several days until I called her back. There was only her voice mail; I left a message. Then it took me several calls and messages to eventually to get her to return my calls and decided to refund the overcharge. The overcharge was not a big amount; nevertheless, it was very disappointing to be billed for something that I never used. The good thing I experienced with this hotel group was the reservation; the staff was very helpful and friendly. September 11, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by LAX we used the Hotel as a base for 2 weeks whilst we were in Lax area, the Hotel is a great hotel, big and spacious , nice bars and eating areas, we were lucky enough to be on the 16th floor upgraded with our IHG status. the down side is the car parking $18 a day x this by 13 days and no discount, some of the staff also need to learn to earn some manners ! people are coming to this hotel spending good hard earned money and all they do is stand there with the hands out .On the day we left bearing in mind we had been there for 13days all we got at the front desk ,was , here's your bill thanks for staying , have a safe journey home , nothing !!! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Quite noise Quite noise, I get asleep at 03H00 at ninght and I couldn't sleep any more due to quite loud sound of the air conditioning of the building, no the air conditioning of the room. This noise is even bigger than the sound of th planes. The other thing I dislike was that at reception didn' tadvice us about the possible reduction in price at the parking near the hotel. The person was charged us the parking told us a possible reduction if we were at the hotel. The room is OK, it was refurbished September 8, 2013

The staff were great and very helpful. the only dislike is the cost of parking ($11 over night) Not sure if I like the idea of having to pay for parking AND the hotel room....either way..i would stay here again!!! Two shuttle drivers, check in clerk, bartender, and two waiters could not have been nicer. The check in clerk gave me a free drink voucher for no reason, the bartender has worked at the hotel 25 years and the shuttle driver to the airport ran around to find my wife a luggage cart. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. Check out time was not until noon and the shuttle to the airport runs punctually every 15 minutes. The breakfast buffet was worth the cost and both waiters were very kind. They even got my wife a to go cup for her hot tea. Stay here. September 7, 2013

We requested a few forgotten essential items from the Front Desk, and literally within minutes, the items arrived at my room door.
