A very comfortable room although the service didn't come up to the standard of the room. A late check-out was welcome.

we stayed in a 2 bedroom (513) what a fabulous room. Huge 2 bed, 2 bath, great kitchen if you want to cook and lovely comfortable beds. The only problem is if you want to eat in the restaurant you need to book in advance ( we tried both nights and could only get a 6.15 or 8.30 time slot, therefore went to others off site).

My wife & I went for a weekend in the Hunter Valley and stayed here. We had a deluxe king room on level 1 with a lovely outlook to the gardens. We did find that the sound echo's a little around this area if someone is sitting outside talking but otherwise the room was comfortable, clean & although not huge was big enough for two.We also went to Red Salt Restaurant for dinner and again for breakfast and although my spatchcock wasn't as good as it could have been. The salmon my wife had was lovely. Breakfast was delicious. We had an emergency with our daughter having to stay with us on the second night and the staff were very helpful and made the changes needed to acommadate us at the last minute with a minimum of fuss and cost. Overall a good stay.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jedu Friendly Staff and Great Service.
The Concierge was very helpful and went out of his way to assist us, during our stay. The Staff in the Restaurant were also friendly, helpful and we enjoyed delicious breakfasts and dinner. The Crown provided so many different activities for us to do with our grandchildren and we had a wonderful time, even though I tore my calf muscle playing tennis with the kids. We will come back but next time NO tennis, maybe croquet. Well done Crown!!!

A friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay for a girls getaway in the Hunter, we were able to experience the restaurant, the bar, and pool side areas. All top notch. The staff always friendly and engaging, happy to assist in where to go in the area for some of the best wines, very refreshing to get such good service!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by dissapointinggetaway8 Not so great this time
We have stayed at this hotel several times and enjoyed it but this time was the first during school holidays and my suggestion to anyone wanting a nice relaxing break is AVOID this hotel during school holidays. Service was delayed with everything we did, we waited excessive times for our dinner on two different days at two separate times for approx 50 minutes each time, the restaurants were over crowded and noisy to the point where you could barely hear the conversation at your own table. The pool and spa was crippled with unsupervised children romping around and the worst part though was that when you went to your room to escape it, they had the kids club activities right outside the guestrooms so the noise never stopped all day. It was very frustrating to go on a break from your own kids to be woken at 8am by other screaming kids. The ambiance was definately missing this visit, unfortunately.
There was a lack of organisation and most likely understaffing during this time. Our room was not attempted to be made up until 4pm at which point we were wanting to rest, instead we had to be disturbed by housekeeping. A little organisation and consultation with guests each morning as to the best time to do the room usually works well in other hotels and does not disrupt guests.
We stayed in a Spa King Suite and the room decor was nice although the lounge was VERY uncomfortable and the spa bath was ever so TINY (1 person only), this was dissapointing for suite style accommodation.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Kaddyshan Lost the love and a little tired
Staff were not as friendly and helpful as they have been in the past. The rooms need some attention - hole in our sheets and not changed in the four nights we were there.
Red salt is excellent. Ate there three nights. But the room/villa was a let down and check in was below expectations.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by atja Accommodation and Breakfast
We were surprised by how spacious the three bedroom villa was. The staff was excellent and the included breakfast had a very good choice.
The only thing I have to suggest is that some more secure parking for the pushbikes. We had to place them inside the villa at night time. This is not to suggest that leaving them outside would have been unsafe but we brought them in because of our peace of mind.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lisa60 soothing and beautiful ambience
Was there for a conference held at the venue. THe initial reaction was that were in the middle of nowhere but the soothing ambience of the room and the surroundings made up for it. Getting dinner and shopping for essentials were still a problem. The in house restaurants were below our expectations. Most of the staff were helpful and friendly. However, losing a favorite jacket near the pool area left a bad tast in the mouth at the end unfortuntatyey.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ervh The pillows were uncomfortable and they misplaced my credit card at breakfast
We checked ourselves with the portable breathalyser when we returned to the room, and I was 0.04 which was under the legal limit, so I was NOT drunk.
We both had difficulty sleeping as the pillows were not comfortable. at about 3am I thought that all the pillows which were rotated through, one, two, one two etc, were spongy, not a good night's sleep.
This left me feeling tired and exhausted the next day which happened to be of all days, my birthday. Thank you.
We went for breakfast, the buffet, as we were staying at this specific hotel because we were attending a wedding the previous day.
I expected the $25 rate my sister had told me that it would cost and surprise! Was charged $38 each. Luckily I checked the receipt. The young lady asked her manager who said that she would check with reception as they normally ask at check in if you would like the buffet breakfast special rate, which they had not.
I paid for breakfast with my credit card (my choice). In the meantime, they lost or misplaced the credit card. Yes. We were asked to check our pockets, wallet, purse, handbag etc. Twice. No. it had not been returned. We were told to proceed to breakfast and after about 10 minutes they produced my credit card. Hallellujia!
The coffee machine was broken (out of service). I requested 2 hot chocolates which they would (were going to) prepare in the kitchen. They never came, I asked 3 times over about half an hour and were told that there was a slight delay as they were so busy. They never came. We left breakfast without enjoying(?) their hot chocolate. I hope that someobody had consumed them. We drove back to Sydney feeling tired and exhausted after a bad night's sleep. Thank you, Crowne Plaza for a memorable stay.

We were in the Hunter Valley to attend a wedding. As we have 2 small children we stayed in a two bedroom villa. Room was great, very spacious which allowed us to entertain relatives and friends. Resort had plenty to offer kids and adults alike. Location is convenient to all the Hunter has to offer. Staff very friendly and accommodating,

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Eltel Very Disappointed - no one listened.
We booked for 4 nights over Easter but left after 3 because of the poor service. Although our rooms were clean and comfortable they weren't serviced until after 4 pm which is unacceptable. We had to wait for nearly an hour and a half for food orders to be delivered in the Grapevine restaurant on Good Friday evening, they were then incorrect. The restaurant staff said they couldn't cope with full occupancy and appeared as frustrated as we,and many other guests with young children were. We complained both to the reception and restaurant and were promised that a manager would get in touch to discuss our complaints - no one bothered to.
A wholly forgettable experience and a spoilt Easter break.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Kevo44 Overall a very good stay
Apart from a couple of issues, we really enjoyed our stay.
Room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Bed and pillows very comfortable and a large bathroom that actually has a separate shower. Only complaint about the room was that the lock on the screen door to the balcony appeared as though it had been broken for some time.
Reception service was average. Upon check in there was no acknowledgement that I was a Priority Club member. The check in was not very welcoming and nothing was explained. We were told in broad terms that your room "is down there" and the parking is "out there". We had no guidance as to how we were supposed to take our luggage to our room. Of our own accord we found a trolley which we then struggled to push up the steepish winding path.
The Redsalt restaurant was quite nice. Unfortunately our table had no light whatsoever so we had to use a torch to read the menu. We complained but were told simply that they had had trouble with the lighting, whatever that means. The food was fairly nice although not good value. Wines were not cheap and the waiters could give no advice at all when I asked about the different wines available.
Room service for dinner one night was terrible. For 2 simple meals we were told that there was a 55 minute wait. After that time we kept calling Room Service and were constantly told that it wouldn't be long. Finally, our 2 meals arrived after 90 minutes. Never again will we try room service.
A common complaint is about top class hotels that charge for internet access. The minimum time plan is 2 hours. All we wanted to do is Skype our family. Hardly any hotels overseas still charge for wifi. This is not good enough.
Some of the good points are the amazing breakfast, about the best we have ever had. Well done Crowne Plaza. The Concierge was very helpful and the grounds surrounding the Hotel are beautiful.
We will stay again, but at least we will be prepared for the shortcomings

I was traveling with my family and stayed in a 2 bedroom villa. Our villa was clean and spacious. Very comformtable living. The kitchen amenities were great too. Totally surprised by this place, our 2 bedroom apartment was extremely spacious and rooms were nice distance away. Gorgeous balcony area with lovely view, instantly felt relaxed. One thing I would suggest to the hotel is provide a small stereo with iPod doc. Breakfast was beautiful and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Can't wait to head back to the hotel! Thank you.

We had a lovely time at the Crowne in the Hunter and would love to save and go for a week next time! It's just a lovely hotel and surrounded by so many beautiful vinyards and restaurants. I've been to Hunter Valley 3 times now, and every time i have stayed with Crown Plaza Hunter Valley! No minimum stay policy is great! I usually only stay the 1 night and not many places offer this (which is so annoying). I got upgraded to a 3 bedroom and only paid for a 2 bedroom villa! They're facilities are amazing, pool, tennis courts, beach volleyball, even giant chess! Thank you for making my stay always pleasant.
