Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel We stayed here while visiting colleges with our daughter. Our experience couldn't have been better. The front desk is cheerful and helpful, Jerome our server at breakfast, Anthony our shuttle driver and Francis our concierge were all happy, friendly, helpful and always smiling. They made our stay enjoyable. I would recommend either using SEPTA or driving to downtown. There are reasonable rates for parking on weekends and a taxi back to the hotel from South Street cost us $35 - much more than parking would have cost for the entire day. Without a doubt we will stay here again when back in the Phillie area. April 13, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Highest Marks!! Good location, nice bar, good room but I really have to remark on the staff. My wallet fell out of my pocket in my room and I left without it. It had all my credit cards, ID, cash and even lottery tickets in it. I called and the housekeeping staff immediately called back and said they found it. Then, the security staff called and asked how they could get it to me. They overnighted it and the next day I had the wallet with everything still in it. Now, I will stay here every time I go to Philly. March 31, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Frequent Stays Crowne Plaza West has been Great with all of our Hotels needs. Staff courteous, Hotel experience Great, Rooms are very adequate and comfortable. We have been staying recently every other week in this hotel all has been Great except when it comes to Reward points. I have stayed several times and every time we stay we receive another Priority Club number. No one ever asks for a club number instead we now have 5 priority numbers, it is very confusing and no points are being gathered either. I sure hope this get resolved. Throw out the Priority Club mess, Very nice Hotel with a great atmosphere, Great Staff, Great Value, along with an added perk Free parking which is rare in Philly. March 29, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Room and front desk We stay at your hotel twice a year to go to the hospital. We have recommened this property to friends in the past. The last two stay have been very bad. The bed were actually bowed. The sheets looked like they were not changed. Your bathrooms are never the greatest there. We talked to first desk, nothing. When I asked a question on the US Open to be held in Marion they know nothing. YOU have a big sign on your building!!! I asked upon arrival and when we were leaving.I was going to stay there but not now. Leaving we told the front desk about our stay. Of course they said we are sorry. The person at the desk said they would give me 250 reward points. Looking at my account for the day she did not. March 24, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by loud We checked in to our king room on the Executive floor after driving 12 hours and were extremely tired and just wanted to go to sleep at 8 pm. Had more driving to do the next day. We stay there often because our daughter attends college in the area, and have never had a problem with anything but parking. However about 8:15 the room next to us checked in and there were a bunch of very loud screaming girls. At first we thought they'd settle down after a few minutes, but after a while it was clear they were partying for the night. We called the front desk to request a room change and were told there was nothing else available. The front desk checked again and said they did have a handicapped room available with a queen bed so we took it. When we got to the room we were extremely disappointed with the room. It was very run down. there was no refrigerator for my insulin (which is why we generally get the king room on Exec floor) and the bed looked more like a double than a queen. But we were exhausted and just went to bed. We were awaken at 1:15 am by the man in the next room, who turned his television on. We realized it wasn't that the TV was on loud, but that the walls were paper thin. After about 20 mins I banged on the wall and he turned it off. But the next morning at 6:15 he made a personal phone call and it sounded like he was sitting in the chair next to us. We could not only hear every word he said, but every word said by the person on the other end of the phone. In addition, the toilet ran the entire night. My husband got up and fixed it at one point - it was quite loud - but by morning it was running again. And the bathroom door did not latch closed at all. I am not sure we'll be staying there again. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Waitress in the restaurant - huge asset. Front desk lady - the same Arrived with my husband and daughter. Needed a pull out couch - which I thought I ordered on line. Had to upgrade and pay more - front desk lady was very accomodating. Understood my needs and immediately recommended a solution. Same with girl in breakfast area. What a prize - she will get hired away in a heartbeat. Talk about Customer Service - she is all over it. Anticipated hot choclate with whip cream before my daughter even knew it was on the menu. Hotel is old and needs a renovation, but the staff is top notch. March 22, 2013

We have stayed alot because of my husband heath.Every one their are like family.The rooms were always good front desk would check to make sure the room was ok .We enjoyed the breakfast buffet.We eat dinner few times was good.We will always go back here when my husband has to go back to hospital.The front desk called us by name and asked how my husband was doing .SUPER PLACE TO STAY March 11, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by In need of renovation The hotel is very old and is in serious need of renovation. We went to a brewery in Manayunk and couldn't get a cab for 45 minutes. While only being a short car ride away the hotel would not send a courtesy van. Like most hotels the beer in the bar is way overpriced. Breakfast was okay, but at least the omelete station was good and the person making the omeletes was very friendly and provided good service. The staff at the front desk is also very friendly. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Room problems I usually enjoy my stays. However this time the room was cold and I could not get it warmer even after raising the hemp to 90 degrees. Also the toilet kept making a flushing nose that interfered with my sleep. I am sure staff would have addressed the problem but I had a hectic schedule with no time for a room change. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not very good for physically challenged guests Check in wait was a little long with only one guest service rep at the front desk. When I called the property to request a lower floor due to physical limitations, I was told that the lowest floor was on the 4th floor. When arriving at the location, I did not find any H/C parking, and had to walk up a hill to get to the front door from the parking lot. Later that night I found that there were parking spaces in the rear of the building--oh well too late after unloading my suitcases and hauling them up the hill! When trying to find my room, I was in the next to the last room on the floor--yet another challenge. I think that there should be better signage for those that have special needs in the parking lot, and I feel that when the Customer Service rep was told of my mobility issues, I could have been assigned a room closer to the elevator--especially since I was told on the phone, that there were plenty of rooms available! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall a great Hotel with some minor complaints I booked this hotel for my daughter's visit to Shriners Hospital for Children. The rate was decent and they offered free parking.. a huge plus in Philadelphia! One reason I booked this hotel was because it had an indoor pool and hot tub. Unfortunately we did not get to use the pool because it was waaaayyy too cold! In the middle of December the water temperature was only 68 degrees! Too cold for us to go in. Despite complaining once, the temperature did not change. I complained a second time, but by then it was too late. My daughter was getting a cast placed and was no longer able to even use the pool. Room service was good, only had one day where they didn't come to clean the room until 4:00 PM. The food was good but pricey! As far as the bed, it was extremely uncomfortable for me (being 7 months pregnant). I woke up every morning very sore. Also, the TV remote did not work at all. We had it replaced and the second remote was almost as bad, but at least we could change the channels. December 23, 2012

My suite had a refrigerator which I appreciate. The conference I attended was held in a large room with lots of windows and a nice view. It is a bit of a drive to center city but I heard there was a shuttle to take into town. Thank you, I travel a lot and I was impressed. December 17, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good overall experience This was my first trip to Philadelphia, and not knowing the area at all, was hesitant about what to expect when I got there. But this hotel met all of my expectations. The employees at the front desk were very nice, even calling my room once I got settled to make sure everything was OK. Since I was traveling alone, I liked the fact that you had to use your room key to use the elevator. The fitness center was well equipped and clean. My room was clean and comfortable with plenty of towels. And I loved the free WiFi, it was very easy to use. The doorman was very attentive, even checking on me once when I was waiting for my ride to make sure I was OK. I felt at home here and will definitely book this hotel again for my next stay. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Long term stay My experience overall was excellent. Due to my business travel required a long term stay. I did find that one elevator had issues during my 4 week stay and laundry services were taxing. Twice neither front staff, bar or change machine (only one person could maintain it) could provide the needed change to utilize the personal laundry. The change machine was full or no quarters were available. Additionally only 2 washers and two dryers were available for an 8 story building. With the number of conventions and travelers I would had expected more. A better suggestion was to travel out to Manayunk (and you gotta look hard) where we found a laundromat that you could provide a credit card or paper money in return the money changer loaded a different re-loadable card. That card could be used directly into the dryer and washer providing a complete wash less than 5 bucks. Although the hotel had laundry services it took forever to get your laundry back. Also. for executives the hotel provided a lounge. To make it more comfortable maybe remove some of the high tables a provide a more comfy relaxing area. The executive lounge seemed more like a place to grab something and leave quickly rather than hang out for meetings. Over all the staff was wonderful. Thanks November 18, 2012

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Infrastructure Challenges 1) I used the pool and the spa (hot tub) and the water was dirty. 2) The repaving closed the main entrance and much of the parking lot during my three day stay. It wasn't the repaving itself that was the issue – it was the fact that A) there was no notice given when I checked in B) there was limited signage in the parking lot and no directions re: how to exit the lot. B) there was no information about how long the lot would be blocked off. 3) The elevator was having problems. Not working when I returned in the evening. Then working shortly thereafter. Another guest in the elevator told me she was trapped in it last week. I was staying on the 7th floor so was concerned that I'd either get trapped or have to hike up and down seven flights of stairs. 4) The wireless coverage was completely inadequate. I was on a business trip and having intermittent internet access is completely unacceptable. October 23, 2012
