Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Large room, very good bed, and average service Was at this hotel recently for a conference. Breakfast (continental) was the SAME offering for 3 days. Some imagination could have added to the selection of just bagels and sweet rolls. Also, the snacks served during two receptions in the late afternoon were considered average and nothing spectacular. Your food manager needs to think outside the box that everyone else uses and offers to groups. March 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic Stay I was here on business and the staff and restaurant was fantastic. I would Recommend this place to all my friends. Thank you March 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lobby and Meeting Rooms I would recommend this hotel in the summer months. During my recent visit the lobby and meeting rooms were extremely cold. So cold that the attendant in the gift shop was wearing a jacket. Most all the attendees in the 3-day seminar I attended complained about the cold. February 28, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Feb 2013 visit Hotel is noisy in the morning on the 5th floor (room 5090 and beyond) on the north side. AT 5 am the vent for the "Splash" kicks in and is at times very noisy. February 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding Customer Service Outstanding customer service along with the extremely well executed renovation make this property a must stay when in the area! February 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Newly renovated beach hotel! You must try it! I stayed here for one night and I was pleasantly surprised to find that all of the rooms have just been renovated. The room was very clean. The staff was friendly and the food in the restaurant was amazing (especially the omelet). February 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay and brand new rooms! Love the new rooms-truly a great way to enjoy the feel of the beach. My stays always have been good; just the renovation of the guest rooms (and saw meeting rooms --almost done February 3, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice hotel This was the first time I had stayed at this location. Very nice hotel, rooms are recently remodeled and were very nice. The view of the pacific ocean was great. I'm looking forward to the next opporunity to stay. February 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this property! I have been staying at this Crowne Plaza for years. The renovation is beautiful!. I always feel so welcome here, the staff is extremely outgoing and friendly. When traveling on business to California, this is my hotel of choice. January 29, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Relaxing stay This is probably my 8th or 9th stay at Redondo over the years. It was very pleasing to see that the hotel has been renovated and bedrooms and bathrooms have been refurbished to a high standard. Great location for beach, restaurants, recreation and general relaxing after a long flight and jet lagged work days. Excellent comfortable beds. I can recommend this hotel to any visitor to the LA area who wants a high level of hotel. You need a car to get around - the daily cost of car parking is a bit high and this is my only negative. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Leak in bathtub We recently stayed here and when my girlfriend used the bath tub, the overflow did not work properly and water went under the wall between the bathroom and hallway and wet all of our clothes that we were going to wear that day. We also were inconveniences by having to switch rooms. We were not compensated for our inconvenience in any way. We have stayed here before and did not have any problems. i wrote to your Customer Care Department last week, but have not heard any reply back as of yet. January 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pillows Every thing was great, I would only recommend upgrade the pillows to larger ones, very small pillows. Great customer service January 18, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by No Hot Water If you are an early riser forget the hot water. Management knows they have a problem yet will not do anything to make sure hot water is available in all rooms. I let the water run for twenty minutes and still showered and shaved with cold water. Asked the nice lady at the front desk and she said they get complaints about it all the time and they keep telling management about the problem. January 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Start to 2013 This was my first trip out in 2013 and i have to say this hotel was exceptional, everyone made sure I was taken care of and any assistance needed it was provided. Will be using this for all my business in LA and would recomend it to anyone with business close to the airport to stay here. January 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Would stay again We stayed recently in a newly refurbished room, which was very comfortable. The beds were amazing - best sleep in a long time! The renovations may not have been quite complete as there were pencil marks still on the bathroom floor and the doors to the bathroom had plaster on them - they were louvre doors which should be changed to solid in my thinking. It pays to be a Priority Club member as this was the only hotel in our entire trip (we stayed at 7 other major hotels nationwide) that was going to charge for internet! It is evidently a perk of being a Priority Club member (a bit out of date now). The position of the hotel was great, we had a lovely day walking the waterfront. Did not use the restaurant as it was closed at 1.30pm when we went to have a drink and a bite to eat. We would like to have stayed longer to enjoy the pool. January 7, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great View and location We recently returned from a family vacation and stayed at the Crowne Plaza @ Redondo Beach. The hotel was located close to the activities that were planned, and had an awesome view of the marina. The rooms were clean, beds very comfortable and bathrooms adequate. There was one morning (the departure day) there was no hot water, even though we left @ 4:30 am. Hard to believe at that time of morning I had a cold shower. The room had enough space to move around in. Hotel staff was friendly, although we interrupted the maid service one day and needed to call the front desk to have them return to finish cleaning the room. Wish there was more coffee amenities ( needed more creamer for am coffee). This hotel could definitely use a full service restaurant and bar. The breakfast buffet just doesn't cut it! Recent room renovations were done very tastfully, and colors reflected the outdoors. Well done! Valet personnel were outstanding and very friendly. Kudos guys! A few suggestion: Hallways and lobby definitely need to be vacuumed frequently. We were there for 4 days and the carpets didn't look like they had seen a Hoover for quite a while. First impression not too positive. A couple bottles of water in the room would be an added touch. January 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by room television & bedrrom receptacles on top of the night stands I enjoyed a great stay in a newly renovated room it was furnished and decorated very nicely. I informed the front desk that the receptacle outlets located above the bed night stand weren't working and the TV picture wasn,'t clear and had no pay per view movies. They informed me that the problems would be corrected, after 2 days I inquired at the front desk that the conditions still exist and was told they would be taken care of. Upon check out I informed the front desk about the conditions thar\t weren't corrected and they are going to look into the challange Best regards & happy, healthy holidays Frank December 19, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MY EXPERIENCE The e-mail confirming my reservation was for 6 nights at a certain price. When i arrived and checked in an additional $700 was added to my credit limit and ;posted on my credit card for incidental charges. When I checked out after my six day stay I received a zero balance bill which was $600 less than the bill amount posted to my credit card. The additional amount from the confirmation amount was the parking fee. $600 still remains on my credit cards as for possible charges which reduced my credit limit. I had to asked the staff on two different days why my room was not cleaned by 3:00 p.m. In 40 years of traveling I have never had this experience at any hotel. I do not ever plan to stay at the Redondo Beach property in the future. December 13, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great price, great location, and great view The nenovation is doing wonders for the property. The new furniture, carpet, bed and sheets are terrific. My only complaint is that my television was below standard in regards to picture quality, and the pay per view movie access was not working. We were told that was due to the renovation that was not complete yet. Another improvement suggestion: Add a bar to the hotel lobby. It is a nice open space, but it lacks energy. December 11, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable and relaxed Staff was excellent. Always professional and greet you everyday. Nice location with a variety of restaurants. December 7, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very bad experience in Crownplaza Redondo - Don't understand why no free parking (additional $23) - Wifi was not working ; Asked to fix it in the night but the operator never came back even after saying that he will fix and let me know so I never be able to use Wifi - Don't understand why there is additional fee for breakfast even with egg-fry December 7, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Remodeled rooms were nice. Crowne Plaza is a beautiful hotel, although the only complaints that I could make is that during the construction period there are less amenities and noise problems. We were not aware when booking that this was going on. November 26, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice room and wonderful service. Recently I attended a conference at the Crowne Plaza Redondo Beach and Marina. Upon arriving, I talked to a pleasant person at the front desk who checked me in quickly. I went up to my room and was greeted with a newly refurbished room. The next two days I attended the conference and was quite impressed with the hotel staff. The conference room was very nice, the sound was good, lighting good, water and glasses on the table. Both days a continental breakfast was provided that left no one wanting. Lunch was served both days and each was extremely good. No boxed lunches! Everyone was impressed. And the dinner served Saturday night was delicious. When I made a couple of inquiries to various staff members, each of them responded immediately and answered my questions with good information and smiles! They seemed to be genuinely happy to help. The staff members I encountered were superb. I would highly recommend this hotel for your conference needs. November 23, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 2nd time staying was not like the 1st We stayed here a number of years ago and really enjoyed our experience. However, this time it was just the opposite. The front desk told us they were doing construction but thought they were on the other side of the building. Turns out they were right (I mean RIGHT) above us - we could hear them scraping up tile like they were in our room. Made the joys of getting ready for a wedding not very joyous. Luckily they didn't start until 10:00 the next morning. The room is very outdated which I believe is why the construction is going on so that is much needed. Also, parking is exuberant just to have our car parked in a ramp that is attached to the building. I realize this is a standard now with hotels, which I find ridulous all around but the last time we stayed it was much cheaper to park and for the price to go up by this much is ridulous. For just a bit more, we could have stayed with everyone else from the wedding at a hotel right on the pier. I like the benefits from being a priority club member but it certainly wasn't worth it this time around. November 18, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Renovation in progress I had a few problems related to the renovation that was in progress. Since they are working on issuing new key cards for the rooms, some door use the old card and some use the new card. I was not originally given a key card for the pool and had to ask the front desk for the card. The card that was issued to me allowed access to the outdoor pool, but for some reason the card did not allow me to get back in. I to explore to find a way to get back into the hotel. This was frustrating because I was cold (it was getting dark) and all I had with me was my bad card and a swim suit. The rooms were comfortable and the location was nice. It was very close to the beach. November 15, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Your Spa needs some "love" I recently came down to Redondo Beach, CA for a conference. I rarely get to go to the Spa so I decided to add a few services at the Spa to make my time more enjoyable. The staff were all friendly and the front desk area truly looks like someone cares. Then you walk past the front and you start to wonder if you are walking down a thrift mall hallway. The massage and waxing tables are cheap and not sturdy. The walls are poorly painted with wall paper or paint pulling off the wall. The nail room was where I was most frustrated (and spent the most time). The gentleman assisting me was the nail technician for my mani and pedi. The kicker was, the pedicure took place in a plastic sack in a wicker basket (are you kidding me?), the nail seat he was sitting on was broken and to top it off, I sat in a office chair against a wall in which my chair kept moving and slamming against the wall. He was kind and kept asking if I was comfortable. I wasn't. I kept looking around the room and wondering why they didn't care at all. No Spa chair, no newer nicer paint colors in the room, all older, uglier colors. You can tell they don't invest in this area of the salon. Additionally, the nail room houses their spray tanning booth, -- again, it all seemed a bit thrown together inappropriately placed. I spent about 200.00 on services and although my nails and waxing were my best treatments the whole experience left a sour taste in my mouth. With all the renovations the hotel is doing, I sincerely hope your Spa owner puts more effort and "love" into her establishment as yes your décor got me in the door but I don't plan on coming back unless you (Spa Owner) care more about investing in your facility. Also- it's rather inappropriate to have a "room service table" covered by a sheet in your nail room that simply holds tacky plastic flowers. Also- that room gets direct light, it got really hot in there- please care about your clients and employee's a A/C unit or sun shades would have been nice. After my visit, the manager had gone for the day, so I didn't bother to complain to the employees, but please- care more. November 13, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Customer Service was Amazing Thank you Jessica for all your helpful dinner referrals and area advise. The newly remodeled rooms were very comfortable and our view of the marina and sunsets were beautiful. Oh, and our morning chef at Splash made the best omelets. The only thing that would have been nice is to have an espesso bar with floavored coffees, there on the premises. November 10, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and comfortable Food served was good and drinks were cold! We would enjoy another stay here. Location,Location...... November 10, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by A disappointing weekend! This was to be a surprise birthday celebration weekend with my wife. Reservations for specific floor and view were made weeks in advance. Upon arrival, we were told that our room on the executive floor would not be available due to renovations. Wish we had been told in advance. We were moved to what was suppose to be an "equal" room on a lower floor. Finding the room was an adventure since we were not provided proper directions, not even where to find the elevator. The floor we were assigned to was also in great need of renovations (torn wallpaper, holes in walls). When we finally found our room we went out onto the balcony to take in the view. We found trash left by the previous occupant. We were told we would be provided with robes from the executive floor. They never arrived. This room also required two maintenance calls; a stuck safe, and a toilet with very low water pressure causing the plumbing pipes to vibrate for over 5 minutes. Need I say more? November 9, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Room odor sent me back home in the middle of the night. I came out to attend a conference I have been looking forward to for some time now. When I made the reservation and again the day of my check-in I confirmed that no fragrance would be used in the room. My parents were helping me check-in. Despite running my air purifier, the room was completely uninhabitable and in the words of one parent, "smelled like a urinal cake". We suspect it was a fragrance used on the carpets. Even they were affected and they are nowhere near as sensitive as I am. One parent drove me back home as the other stayed the night, exhausted and desperate. It was very disappointing. The staff was very nice and considerate and were doing what they could (or seemed to), but there is no getting around something that awful. I was assured it would not be a problem, but, clearly, something as simple as not using fragrance was impossible. It would have been nice to know this ahead of time. We were offered another room that was newer, but the off-gassing from the new furniture was almost as bad and by that point I already was feeling very sick and my body was overwhelmed. It was at least as bad as being put in a smoking room which most people will tell you is not acceptable for a non-smoker and certainly not tolerable for a three-night stay. November 6, 2012
