Stay away in the winter

my recent stay was less than pleasant at the crown plaza downtown. The first issue I had was the parking garage. It was jam packed, hard to navigate and full, so we had no choice but to do valet. It was only an extra $10, so ok, we dealt with it. We get to the room, a 2 bedroom premium suite, and discover there was NO HEAT in the living room! It was 24 degrees and snowing outside! We called down to the front desk, and a service man promptly came. "Fixed" it and left about 20 minutes later. After 1 hour we were still freezing, so we called again. Once again a different service man came up, spent over 1 hour in our room working on it only to tell us that it probably couldn't be fixed. Of course by this time we asked to switch rooms, which we were told there weren't any rooms to switch to because they were full. The ice maker down the hall wasn't working either, so we had to go up 2 floors for ice. Not a big deal. But still added to our frustration. I understand they were full, and that they weren't able to accommodate our request. Everyone was very friendly and understanding, however it really ruined our girls weekend experience. We ended up with a discount on the room, and hopefully a free night for future use, which was promised to be sent in the mail. Hopefully I receive that soon. Bottom line, this hotel needs some serious updating to the rooms. The lobby and reception area was nice, unfortunately it didn't flow into the rooms.

My apologies that you did not have the exceptional experience that you deserve. This is an old hotel with a lot of character and in a great location but we do have our challenges with our HVAC system. We are currently under new ownership and a renovation is planned in the near future. We look forward to seeing you again in the future.
