My overall experience was fantastic. The staff and administration were very accommodating and knowledgeable in creating a wonderful experience. Things that I forgot, the staff thought of. There was a proactive attitude in making sure the event would turn out perfect and it did, The arch was my windows landscape. My only concern was the parking. The parking garage is not friendly to navigate. We had older guests who found it difficult to walk from the parking garage to the hotel. There was no elevator and the parking garage has 7 levels. Take care of this problem and your experience will be totally excellent. I'm glad we were able to have a successful 80th birthday event.

Tired hotel - could use some updating and more TLC of their common areas, guest rooms, and conference areas. Unable to adjust the temperature in the guest room - controlled by hotel staff at front desk; they're more than happy to provide you an extra blanket though....

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by hoosier2013 spotless linen; comfortable bed
Liked: The firmness of the bed was just perfect. Slept very well. Bed linen were clean and white and the rooms are large and spacious.
Disliked: Bathroom counter space was too small and cramped. And the carpets in the hallways need to be steam-cleaned or replaced a.s.a.p.!! Strong smell of diesel in the bar and check-in area due to on-going repair work on the escalator.

We had a great experience at the St. Louis Crowne Plaza. Friendly staff, great location and clean comfortable rooms. Only complaint would be not being able to control temperature in the room.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Paramedic6 Great Staff, Platinum Upgrades; could use some renovation
Great staff. Upgraded me to a suite (king bedroom plus a living room with a great view of the Arch but no balcony) because of my IHG Platinum Elite Ambassador status. The bar and lobby areas are very nice, but the hallways on the guest floor could definitely use some new carpets and fresh paint. The room was very large and the bed was extremely comfortable, but the other furniture in the suite seemed a little old/cheap for a Crowne Plaza suite.

We decided to visit this hotel as we have used it in the past. Our purpose was for our daughter to attend the LA Dance Magic conference next door at the HYATT. We only live 45 min from downtown and my daughter needed to be checked in at dance by 8am. When arriving downtown I found myself in a situation with parking. So I dropped my wife and daughter off for the dance and ultimately decided to attempt valet parking at your hotel. To my surprise I found myself with not only valet service I was able to check in as well (at 7:30am) the day of check in. The lady at the desk was extremely nice and just simply stated lets go ahead and get you checked in early so you can meet your family next door. The door man helped me with my luggage to my upgraded suite (I love priority club) and the attendant parked the car for me. Next thing I know I was on my way to meet the family. At noon we had a 3 hour break from dance and wanted my 6 yr old daughter to rest in the room. We needed linens for the pull out and the front desk had them delivered in 10 min. what I thought was impressive about the front desk lady was when I walked through the lobby several hours later she asked me if I received my linens and if I was having a good day (excellent customer service). We all slept great that night and woke up to another day of dance. While my family was next door I found myself again with a parking situation, see we left at 5pm for home and checked out at noon. Again the employees at your hotel steeped up to make me feel like a king. When I brought all the bags down for check out and told the front desk lady I was leaving but needed to figure out what I was going to do with my car for the rest of the day she simply said “sir, just let us put your bags in the room and leave your car with us until you are ready to leave later today”. Again WOW!!!! So when I thought your hotel could not do anything else to make it such a great visit, I looked at my bill and Credit Card statements and found no extra charges for the parking or early check in. I can only say thanks for that as I was prepared to pay extra for the extra.
FYI, the HYATT next door forced other families in my dance studio to move their cars or pay the extra day if left in the valet more than 24hrs. Can’t wait to visit your hotel again!!!!!!!!!!

Hotel staff greated us and made us feel very comfortable and were very helpful. First reaction to room was great size and comfortable bed. However the temperature in the room was very warm and could not be cooled down by thermostat. Had to open window and ask for fan to try to cool room down. Had window open all night in 25 - 30 Degree outdoor temperatures and still did little for the warm temp. Made sleeping very uncomfortable. Then in the morning, the 8:00am shower had no hot water. Hotel was very crowded during our stay and made rides and waits for the elevator extremly long. Probably won't stay at this location again.

The view from the room was excellent. But we had a couple of inconveniences that made our say less enjoyable. The toilet would not flush properly and the hot water faucet handle was broken. because of Christmas eve, they did not have personnel available to fix the problems. We enjoyed the free movie though.

We returned to our suite to find all of our belongings gone; entire BAGS gone. After months of supplying receipts to the hotel of items in our room, an insurance claim through them and a security guard that said "Sometimes the doors don't latch- you really have to slam and jiggle it" We remain without any answer or any responsibility. The only response we were given was there was no proof of Forced Entry- ...other than everything is gone and they have no responsibility for it. Not even an offer to reimburse our overpriced room stay or our parking. NO cameras in hallways and no footage from even the front door was ever reviewed. DO NOT STAY HERE- or if you do put even your toothbrush in the safe downstairs as that seems to be their answer.
OH by the way- when you sign that you won't smoke in the room- note you are also signing they aren't responsible for ANYTHING.
After posting a review on Trip Advisor I finally got the name of the General Manager- (5 months later) and did receive ONE response on Twitter from IHG cares requesting details of our 'inconvenience'. It was more than an inconvenience- and I am not expecting to be compensated for every item in the room- what I do expect is at the LEAST an apology, an offer for some sort of reimbursement or an EFFORT to determine exactly what happened. If this is how you treat a member of priority club for 10+ years....it's time to shop around!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by UncleJames Overall a good stay...
The room was great with an incredible view from the balcony and convenient to downtown attractions. My only complaint was that the A/C in the bedroom did not keep the room at a comfortable temperature. The front desk staff were top notch and made our stay! We will definitely give this place a 2nd chance when we come back next year.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by jonathan1962 crowne was not very royal
We live near St Louis and I wanted to take my wife out for her fiftieth birthday and stay downtown so we could have a few drinks and enjoy ourselves away from the children, and not worry about drivingback or getting a ride home. So I booked a room at the Crowne Plaza, thinking that would be a classy place.
I will say the management did help me acquire a room that overlooked the Mississippi and had a good view of the ARCH. But when we went up to the room, the elevator had a very worn, beat up look to it, and as we got off at the 23rd floor, we were greeted by seeing an old room service tray that I am guessing had been sitting there since breakfast, due to having pancakes and a coffee pot on the tray. We ventured down the hallway on very worn carpet and when we entered the room, we were both thinking about dropping our bags and freshening up, and hitting the town.
We saw that the towels were not the brightest of whites, and the furniture was older for a Crowne Plaza. But we let that go for the time being.
We got changed, went out, and when we got back and started to unwind from the night out, we noticed the room was a little chilly. so I went to adjust the heat, which was an old knob for an old style radiator heater, it was marked, and I did turn it to heat, and moved on. We then pulled the sheets back and noticed the bedding had stains near the top of the sheets, almost like a dirt marks. My wife being suspicious by this time smelled the pillows, she said they smelled like old dog. My wife was not very happy and called down to the front desk to report the bedding, and to their credit, the staff did come up and changed the sheets and pillows, the sheets looked ok, but the pillows were in the same shape, so luckily we had brought a towel with us, and we both shared it on top of the pillows, to cover the smell of the pillows.
Hence, the heat never got any warmer. The windows were single pane and allowed a lot of sirens, city noise, etc, even on the 23rd floor. Their was a lot of dirt and trash looking around under the furniture, and many cobwebs in almost every corner of the room. There was a lot of paint peeling from many surfaces, doorframes, walls, etc.! I have to say that after staying in many Crowne Plazas in my flying career, that this had to be the worst one by far.
We got up very early and left, due to our disgust of the room. And on the way out toward the elevator, the Breakfast tray that I noted earlier,, was still there the next morning. I think Intercontinental might want to look at giving some training for the management and staff of this potentially nice hotel. We have pictures of these items, but they are not handy to me at the office.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MileHighAtlanta Enjoyed the stay and convenient to downtown......
I am a corporate pilot and flew passengers into Lambert on Dec. 2 for an overnight trip. I decided to stay downtown to do the "tourist" thing. The hotel is in a great location to see the downtown area. The arch is practically outside your door. The picture was taken from my balcony. The room was really nice...The only trouble I had with the room was with the temperature. My room had really old environmental system that was practically impossible to control. At least it was a cool evening and I could leave the balcony door open. The choices on the breakfast buffet was AWFUL...not a big selection at all. Matter of fact the breakfast buffet was very comparable to a breakfast at a Holiday Inn Express..... I would recommend this location and will stay there again....I just won't eat breakfast there......

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 extremely poor accommodations and service
The hotel was so hot the maintenance man had to take the screws from the windows, open the windows and place a box fan (which was extremely filthy) in front of it just to bring some relief. I stayed the end of November I would hate to imagine what it would be like in July or August. House Keeping must think they need to hoard supplies. I had to call to the front desk numerous times because the house keeper only left one wash cloth or she did not leave any soap shampoo conditioner etc. I will never stay at the Crowne Plaze St. Louis again.

The billing department managed to overcharged me for my stay and I am still waiting for my refund. It's been two weeks. I have demanded a full refund for my inconvenience. If you choose this hotel make sure they aren't charging you for a No-show fee which is $151.88, and Deposit fee which is $150.00.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Tomba A little Bathroom Tissue and No spare Roll
We stayed at the accessible room.
The front guy was very friendly and the room was not new but good.
In the bath room, there was a toilet roll and the tissue left a little.
And we could not find any spare roll in the room.
The next morning, there was no tissue, so we called Front lady to bring us the roll and wait about 30min, but it never came.
Finally, we decided to go out of our room and use the public bath room on the 2nd floor.
The front member seemed busy for the customers checkout.

My wife and I are priority reward club members, and just loved this hotel. The hotel was easy to get to, and the parking garage is attached to the hotel. Down side is it's a public parking garage, and you may have a little bit of a walk on a busy weekend. But, there is security patrolling. We were upgraded to a suite since we are priority reward members. The suite was great. We had a view of the river, and had a view from two sides of our room. Hotel is in close proximity to the Edward Jones Dome, and the Arch. I would recommend this hotel, and would recommend becoming a rewards member if not already. Have fun!!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by MizzouMan Not A Clean Hotel
After watching a MIZZOU football game, a return to St Louis for a quality night's stay was the plan. I didn't arrive at the hotel til around midnight but was thankfully checked in and at my room in a flash.
The hotel in general is in a great location but the inside of the rooms are in desperate need of renovation as the heating/cooling of the room is not controlled by the occupant but by the hotel and it was HOT! We opened the window for some comfort but the 3 AM, 4:30 AM, 6 AM, fire/police/ambulace sirens quickly woke you up.
This brings me to the bathroom which, probably hadn't been cleaned in weeks....hair, hair, and more hair littered the room and the shower was disgusting with BLOOD on the curtain! Needless to say as a priority member this was a disappointment. The only hope is that when I return I can stay at a Holiday Inn Express or I will be checking in to another hotel.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ramsfan34 Exceptional Customer Service and Great Location
After reading several reviews of this property, I was nervous about what to expect, but deceided to give it a try. I booked a king corner suite a few days before arrival on a busy football weekend. After booking, I called the hotel to request a high floor room with a balcony and a view of the arch, which was honored even on this busy weekend. I arrived early, at about 1 pm and was checked right in to a very spacious 18th floor suite with a balcony and an amazing view of the arch. The entire staff was courteous and helpful. The room was very clean and bed was amazingly comfortable. On sunday morning I ordered room service breakfast which was quickly delivered and delicious. On the downside, the bathroom and shower were small for the suite. Now yes, the hotel is somewhat dated and in need of some renovation, but all in all, I was very pleased with my stay and would gladly return the next time I am in St. Louis.
Pros -- Location, staff, bed, cleanliness, convienent parking, smoking rooms avaliable
Cons -- Small bathroom, somewhat dated, limited tv channels, no pets
Overall -- Great stay and value for the room in downtown St. Louis

Thank you for your attention to detail when it comes to pleasing the customer. The staff and ALL were very pleasent and willing to assist. The room temperture and atmosphere was great (non-smoking). The room was very spaceious and comfortable. And, the food in the restaraunt was affordable and good. There was a minor issue with housing and the number of towels left in the room each day, however that was a very minor issue which was easly addressed with a phone call to the front desk. The Internet and printing service is a very big plus. All-in-all, I truly enjoyed my stay and look forward to visiting again next year at the COGIC Holy Convention.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Edkaren disappointed
For even the discounted price, we were disappointed. The room was difficult to cool off, the beds weren't very comfortable, the shower drain was backed up and one day we did not have any towels. Also the meeting room had problems with the AV and were rather warm. The food was pretty good and the staff was outstanding, with the exception of no towels the one day. We were told this was a premier St Louis hotel, so if that is the best St Louis has to offer...
We realize it is an older building, but it is overdue for a renovation.
