Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very pleasant atmosphere and kind staff I always stay at Holiday Inn while in Appleton - great location just off the Highway 41, very close to airport and the buzzling downtown. Ever since I started coming in 1999, I have enjoyed great service, comfortable rooms and a relaxed atmosphere with all the services I require, including an indoor pool for my morning laps. Now that the breakfast has a good selection of fresh fruits, I can only wish for pancakes rather than the crispy waffles to my maple syrup in the mornings. Perhaps an option for Italian coffees would also add to the experience, but not a necessity. August 6, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Old hotel that needs new fixing Stayed with a group of 10 rooms in late June. Everyone in the group agreed with me and everyone was unhappy with the hotel. From what I understand, is that the air conditioning system is very outdated and was not working in the majority of the rooms on both Friday and Saturday nights. It was fortunately only 80 degrees outside or the rooms would have been unbearable, but the rooms were close to 80 degrees and it was unacceptable. The staff brought fans up to a few rooms that complained, but not much you can do if the hotel is old and needs work. I would never stay here again. The food in the morning was barely edible. Stayed on the executive floor, and not sure what amenities that provides. The only positive is that the staff was very nice. July 5, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Facility and Very Friendly Efficient Staff The hotel is very updated. Room was newly decorated , a good size with a comfortable king bed and pullout sofa. Very quiet despite being a Saturday night and some soccer teams staying. All of the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and efficient from the front desk to the bartender. We were acknowledged as Priority members and provided a voucher toward food or drink. A nice touch! Only recommendation would be to have a small refrigerator in the room. Would definitely stay here again! Close to Fox mall and restaurants...there are many hotels in the area but we find this is one of the nicest. June 7, 2013

The property has always been clean and well maitained inside and out. I especially like their courtyard with tables and BBQ's for guest use. The included breakfast is good and the wait staff excellent. Highly recommended. June 3, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellence! This is a fairly large property. Especially given that it's in a small town. Plus, there was a girl's hockey tournament or something like that. So quite crowded at that time (Feb / Mar). Easily one of my best stays at any IHG property! I had stayed at the HI in the neighboring town (Neenah) the week before. I'm glad I decided to check this one out! I had to drive down to Chicago for the weekend - I really did not want to! Just wanted to stay in! I'm pretty sure I got the best room in the house. Room 835 or something like that. Top floor, executive level, corner room. I looked up the property map, and the room was clearly among the biggest they had. I checked in Friday night. Had to check out for the long weekend for a trip to Chicago and check back in Monday. They still had me back at the same room! The room was huge! It was basically a suite. Biggest bathroom in all my IHG stays. The property was sort of old, but the room just killed it! Nice view from the top too. Beautiful sunrise over the snow in the mornings getting out of bed. I think they had an executive lounge on the floor. Didn't get a chance to check it out. Excellent service too. The lady at the front desk that gave me the same room when I checked back in even remembered and inquired about my visit to Chicago. Laundry was prompt and neatly done. Room delivery folks were really nice. Food was pretty good. For the price, it was fantastic value as well! Even for a small town location. May 9, 2013

When i called a week ago, early one morning, they said they were full and didn't have any rooms for the night. i told them i was on my way and would check later. luckily by the end of the day there was a cancellation and i got my room. i stay at many holiday inn properties and i can always count on this one to lift my spirits, i can't say that about others. always feels like going home when i go to applleton H/I ! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not Expected I was put into a renovated room and nothing worked. Phone cord was broken. TV all snowy. Toilet plugged, and flushed poorly. Heavy smell of paint. No microwave or refer, had to ask. Over all I was not impressed with this property. I locked myself out on my room and the rather large gentleman at the front desk was having a conversation with a friend and I had to wait at least 5 minutes to talk to him, and then he was rude, like I was bothering him or something. The rest of the staff was very pleasant and responsive and did their best to make my stay good. They gave me some point vouchers for all the trouble the room caused, one of them did not work when I tried to key it in. Overall this was the worst Holiday Inn stay I have had in years. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bar hours We traveled 125 miles for our annual girls shopping trip. We went to dinner and returned at 9:45 to have drinks at our hotel bar. When we arrived at the bar the bartender told us she was closing. We told her that the sign states the bar hours on Saturday was midnight. She told us that her boss told her to close early. There were several other people that arrived at the bar at the same time. We were a party of seven. It was very disappointing, as we have been staying there for years. November 25, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Has potential, if it were clean I would not recommend the Appleton Holiday Inn. I found the property to be consistently unclean: behind the front desk, in the corners of my room, in the stain on the sitting chair in my room, in the smell of the breakfast area, in the mystery sludge on the floor by the women's bathroom by the pool, in the grime on the tiles in the pool. The facility maintenance and service matched the cleanliness. My room had a plugged tub, I mentioned this to the hotel staff. When I returned to my room later that day, I found no note indicating if they actually did come back to fix the issue. Upon using the shower, I discovered they likely did not. One of the two, slow elevators was not working during my entire stay with little indication they intended to fix it. In the fitness center, there was only one key for the multi-station weight lifting center. Thus only one person could use it, when it is designed for four simultaneous users. When I brought all of this up to IHG Corporate, they called the hotel to let them know. With in a few minutes the hotel manager left a message on my phone indicating that they gave me 2,000 IHG points. What does 2,000 points do? I don't know. I was really hoping for an apology and an explanation of what they were going to do about it, I didn't get that. It strikes me the owners of this property are milking the last dollars out of this property before they either sell it or raze it. I recommend finding a place somewhere down the street. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Outdated Room My Fiancee and I were hoping to spend a relaxing evening in our whirlpool suite and upon entering the whirlpool was dusty, there was a film of dust on the shelves, I was afraid to use the fridge in the room as it was old and dirty, and the set up of the room was poorly designed. In hopes to spend a night enjoying time with each other for our anniversary, we both were unable to sleep or relax as there was a wedding going on and until that was over all we heard all night was the bass of the music, which was until midnight. The next time I decide to spend that amount of money on a whirlpool suite, I will go elsewhere. November 12, 2012
