Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Courteous Staff, good food, and clean bed Great hotel for the price. Very courteous staff. Checking in and out was a breeze. Pool was easily accessible. My son loved the pool and the breakfast levels (2nd floor and 17th floor respectively). Central location to get to Georgetown/Foggy Botom/GW. Easy to get a cab from the main road. I would have given it 4.5 to 5 stars but for: 1) The rooms (front side of the hotel) need to have upgraded sound proof sliding doors and windows. I was keep getting up throughout the night because of loud road noise that permeates thru the doors and windows. Sound-proofing the front rooms would definitely help 2) Parking is ample (and free) but little tight for guests with big cars/SUV’s. maybe a little re-arrangement of the spots (adding a foot—width wise--to each spot) would help. Specially to the lobby level parking spots I would definitely book again in this hotel next time I am in DC. October 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Experience Overall We had a block of room reserved for a wedding in DC - and I cannot think of one thing that wasn't great. The staff at the front desk was way beyond friendly and helpful...the room was good sized and very comfortable...but, my favorite part was the restaurant on the 17th floor. We ate several meals up there and the staff was amazing and so friendly. I understand that some of them had been there for alot of years - alot! I have been places where alot of years equaled snobby treatment or indifferent treatment...not so with this staff...they made every meal a fun experience. Maybe we were all in such a happy mood it all rubbed off, but it was so pleasant. Also, there was no parking fee and the location was central. I highly recommend this hotel. It is a great value! Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hard to get comfortable The room was ok. Great view, comfortable bed, but the AC just couldn't cool the room down enough. Finally, I had to open the balcony doors at night to get the room cool enough to sleep in. Also, the room was behind the elevators, so I had that noise to deal with. The water smelled and tasted musty. Very musty. The elevators didn't seem to work consistently, and the wait staff in the restaurant were pretty much just going through the motions. October 15, 2013

But most important FREE hotel parking, a rare commodity in D.C. Had a 2 double bed room with 4 people, a little tight, balcony provided some extra space. Sign up for rewards program, better rates and that person gets a free buffet breakfast, but still a value for rest of family at $6.95/person. Did notice a trace amount of mildew in corners of tub. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by "Security deposits," anyone? Has anyone else been charged a $25/night fee that doesn't show on the reservation confirmation or the bill beneath the door? Effectively, a security deposit. We noticed when we checked the credit-card bill. We've been told that it will be returned, but that should not have been charged OR it should have been made crystal-clear they were going to borrow 50 bucks for a few days. First time that has happened to us (we're adults, not damage-prone students on a class trip). I've shared my displeasure with the hotel desk, but management hasn't taken time to call to explain. Nice hotel, good staff, great location. But borrowing our money? Not smart. October 13, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice and clean Quick check in. Called for room service and had great sevice each time. Pillows were awesome. Maid service was great. I just loved coming into a clean and tidy room. The walk to the metro was short and easy. The roof top restaurant had great views and great bartender that kept the drinks filled. Negatives...long wait for elevators, no free breakfast. Otherwise, in room coffee and bath supplies were up to par. Will be a repeat customer. October 12, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Televisions You would think that with all of the money the corporation has spent on HD Televisions in each and every room, they would take the time to bring an HD signal to each and every room. All of the current cable companies have the HD signal and can easily provide that signal. There is nothing worse than watching an analog picture on an HD television. I have stayed in a hotel, recently, that has taken the time, energy and investment to convert their system to HD. It made all of the difference. My hope is that Holiday Inn could take the next step and leap into the 21st Century. October 9, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor check-in service When I came to the desk to register, having reserved by room by phone earlier that evening, the clerk tried to give me a room that did not have the king bed that I had reserved, but, rather, one with some smaller bed. It took several repetitions of noting that my reservation was for a King Bed Executive Nonsmoking room, and my showing him the Holiday Inn e-mail I received for it, before he fulfilled it as made. This was an annoying waste of my (and, of course, his) time. October 3, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Choice for Touring DC We stayed six nights at the Holiday Inn Rossyln. The hotel is one block from the Metrorail making it easy to access all of the sights in and around DC. We had a beautiful view of the Potomac and Georgetown from our balcony. There were several fast food restaurants within 2 blocks and other restaurants within less than a mile. A Safeway and CVS were about 6 blocks away. We had breakfast in the restaurant, a buffet, which was good. The hotel was nicely priced for the weekend, the rates more than doubled for the weeknights. Supply and demand, you have to pay more when everyone wants to be in DC on business. The free parking was a very nice perk. The room was a decent size, the bathroom was very small. Everything was well maintained and in working order. Because of the convenient location, free parking, and easy access to public transportation, we would likely stay here again. October 2, 2013

One can leave the car in the hotel garage at no cost and get most everywhere by public transport. Good Recognition for IHG® Rewards Club Members - free breakfast + 50% off for additional guest. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Scary experience While staying at your hotel I had someone to call my room at 10:50pm on 9/25/2013 - I answered the phone and told the gentlemen that he had the wrong person/room; then 5-10 minutes later someone knocked on my door. Once again I told the individual that he had the wrong room. I immediately called the front desk and told them that a strange man had knocked on my door and they said that they were sending security to check it out. I did not sleep well that night at all. The next day I went to the front desk to inquire about someone knocking on my door - asking how did the individual know to come and knock on my door? I was told by the manager on duty - DB that he gave the person my room number because he was looking for somebody name close to my name so he thought it was me. I was surprise that the hotel would give out someone's room number - he could have been a stalker or wanted to kill me, etc. This should have never happened, I didn't feel safe and have informed my division chief and team on what happened. The location can't be beat--a nice neighborhood very close to the Metro--and the property has nearly everything I look for in a hotel: great food on site (including the little coffee cafe!), spacious room, comfortable bed and pillows, free parking. I was a little sorry there isn't a spa/hot tub (pool only), but then again I'm not sure I would have taken advantage of one anyway. I also prefer having a larger vanity in the bathroom, which felt a little cramped, even with an extra sink/mirror outside. But those are small details; overall I was extremely pleased. This Holiday Inn has great staff, and is within a short distance of all the memorials and museums our capital has to offer. How many "FINE" hotels anywhere around Washington D.C. can you find that have not only free parking, balconies, and a reasonable price, but great people to top things off as well...........this is a experience you will not soon forget ! We were visiting friends in DC and out in Virginia, so this was an ideal spot. Loved that parking and WiFi were not extra. Room was comfortable, clean, and adequate. Front desk staff were excellent. Breakfast restaurant staff were good, though a bit understaffed and buffet could be more efficiently laid out. Can't complain too much about that since it was nearly free for our family to eat. However, at dinner in the hotel, my husband and son were treated rudely---ignored at first and then treated dismissively by the hosting staff. They left without being seated and got room service instead. Shocked at their treatment. Would stay again because of location and value but would definitely not plan on eating there. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Nice corner sweet although it could use some upgrades Nice staff and a great upgrade. The room was great although it seemed quite dated. Would have gotten a good nights sleep had the fire alarm not gone off at 3am and I had to carry my 3 year old down 14 flights of stairs. 2 hours later we finally got him calmed down as back to sleep. We were offered a few points as compensation because we booked our room on the website and prepaid the front desk said its all he could offer. Not likely to be something that would occur again but still don't feel we were taken care of as platinum customers. September 24, 2013

Room was noisy due to flights out of Reagan Airport and car traffic., We were awaken at 2 a.m. our last night from a fire alarm. I would not recommend eating at restaurant as food was poor. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Weekend Met up with my sister and her family and did a quick 2 day tour of Washington DC. We were able to arrange for connecting rooms along with views of the Potomac River and Georgetown. A very short walk to the Rosslyn subway stop. The front desk was very accommadating to providing us with a cot and a small fridge as well as answering our numerous questions. The children 12 and under enjoyed a complimentary breakfast and 2 adults a day enjoyed a complimentary breakfast. The restaurant located on the 17th floor is surrounded in glass and provides a relaxing view. The kids were able to unwind each night with a short dip in the pool. We would definately stay at this hotel again should we have occassion to be in the DC area. PS we were also able to park our car for free (a huge plus). September 23, 2013
