Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst room in the entire building After traveling all morning for a wedding (this was one of the hotels with a block of rooms) we arrived and they had no rooms available. The only response we got from the front desk manager, Hector, was that we were guaranteed a room by 4pm, it was 1:45, and there was a bus picking up wedding guests at 4:25 to bring them to the wedding location. When we asked what we should do, we were told that we'd just have to keep checking back t the desk, but that we'd be guaranteed a room at 4pm. From that minute we should have known what kind of night it would be! We were able to get into a room around 2:30, which was great, but it was probably the worst room in the hotel! It was the second floor with windows directly on the car drop off area (literally the structure for the canopy completely blocked the view from the windows). We weren't there for the view, so we figured it would be fine, until we actually tried to sleep and there was a constant party if people standing in the carport echoing through the closed windows. We had to call the front desk to tell them to quiet down twice! I think we got 2 hours of actual sleep. Terrible. Good thing we had a great time at the wedding! October 16, 2013

Bed was comfortable and shower was terrific. The staff was extremely accomodating and the hotel takes pets which was great! There was free really good coffee in the lobby also! Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Seriously losing its appeal after 40 satisfying visits How disappointed we are that the Brookline Holiday Inn is falling in its appeal. We were quoted a price over the phone that was $20 below what were were charged at check in. No explanation, no apology. The desk clerk was not helpful, even brusque. Our room had a broken iron, no fridge, no microwave as it always has had in the past. The shower head was broken and only produced a trickle, Only the breakfast waiter remained the same competent, cordial professional we have had on previous stays. We have always looked forward to staying there with such a marvelous staff and accommodations on over 40 visits; however, we are going to try another hotel on our next scheduled hospital visit. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not impressed at all We regularly stay in Holiday Inn Properties, so it made sense that my fiancé and I would choose a Holiday Inn to spend the evening that we were getting engaged there. I can not believe that this was a Holiday Inn. The front desk was friendly, but very unprofessional. They were having personal conversations in front of us, which slowed the check in process for us. We were put in a room by the elevator, the thermostat did not work. We arrived to a cool room and went to bed, and woke to an 88 degree room. I am assuming that the thermostat was programmed, but, my goodness! It was an awful sleeping experience to get up and try to shut the heat to no avail...we ended up opening a window. This provided little relief to the temperature. The pillows, are great at every other property. I have no idea what happened to this property! They were awful! I never complain, ever, and have been a Priority Club member for 9 years. This is the first time, and I hope last time, that I have ever felt that I was staying in an economy hotel. Please look into this. As a Platinum member, if this is what I saw, imagine what is seen by the first time guest. October 14, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor value - dirty shower - Parking $$ The room was smaller than most, and the shower (there is no tub BTW) floor was filthy. Lighting was dim, and amneities old. Parking is $30. Walk from parking to lobby is circuitous and has steps and non-auto doors, annoying w luggage. October 7, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel. We have stayed here many many times over the years because it is near our son and his family. The hotel has dramatically improved recently. We had good service, a nice room, and good employees. Nice breakfast, quiet room, everything clean. They forgot to replace our towels on the last night, but that is the only error. Pretty good for a multi-night stay! I think that their prices are too high, but I say the same thing in New York. It seems like they really gouged me for the Friday night part of my stay. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very helpful staff, comfortable rooms, except for the very noisy air conditioning system Stayed here for five weeks due to medical reasons, food at breakfast is lack of variety but dinner is good, very clean rooms, but the air system is too noisy. The lower part of the property is out dated and looks depressing without windows looking outside. Front desk staff Johnny ,Jessie,Hector, sandie are all helpful and kind. shutte drivers Pagan and Tom are most thoughtful and kind! This Holiday Inn provided me a very comfortable and safe place to rest my head, convenient shuttle transport back & forth to the hospital, and an in-house restaurant to grab a bite after a long stressful day. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by poor hotel with excellent staf and service Overall, I did not enjoyed my stay at this hotel. This is not the first holiday inn I stayed at but deffinitely the worst. This hotel needs renovation and my room was not clean as expected (stained towels & there was a living mouse under the bed). Does not worth the price asked for. Despite some pros, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will not go there again. September 9, 2013

The buffet breakfast was reasonable and well prepared. 15 minute walk to Fenway Park through a quiet and safe neighborhood. Two thumbs up!! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Always a very pleasant stay!!! My husband and I, and my teenage boys have been staying at the Brookline-Holiday Inn for the past year or so. For our purposes it is centrally located. You can walk to Fenway and catch a Red Sox game, or you can walk to Coolidge Corner for some really good restaurants, shops and cafes, or.... for some Italian flare, hop on the T to the North End. And if you are daring, you can walk to Newbury Street, where all the high end shops are. There are some good restaurants there too. For your convenience, there are cabs right in front of the hotel. The staff have always been helpful and pleasant, and the rooms clean and efficient. The beds are super comfy and the bathrooms clean and stocked. So far, so good!!!! September 3, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Disappointed next day The walk from reservation desk to my room was waaaay too far. I asked for a room which would be an EASY walk since I am not able to walk far. The following day when I reserved shuttle service -- a wheelchair was offered!! Would have been so nice if it had been available at check=in!! The party outside my door was a bit noisy but I was tired so it did not keep me awake. However, staying alone, it was most annoying to have someone knocking on my door. September 2, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent if you need Brookline If you need to visit Brookline / Allston / Brighton, this is an excellent hotel but then there are no other choices in the area. Facility and room well maintained. No extra noises in room though standard air conditioner makes the standard loud noise. There are some days of the week with good rates. Most days the rates are quite high considering it is not in the center of a major city. Parking is $29 for 24 hours. Yes, that is high but rates all over Boston are higher. Be careful of the garage floor....a lot of sand or grit and it is slippery under foot. Rooms can be a long, long, long walk from the main entrance. Free wifi reached my room though a weak and inconsistent signal. Breakfast buffet is satisfactory and there are no eating alternatives nearby. It's a good hotel and I will not hesitate to stay there again. But I do wish there was some competition nearby. August 31, 2013

My wife has two (2) types of Cancer and we make numerous yearly visits to Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. I do a lot of traveling and always do my lodging within the IHG facilities. No facility provides better service than the staff at Holiday Inn, Brookline. They are to be commended!!!!!!, August 30, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor TV reception and Wifi The room was cofortable but the TV reception was poor. Channels above 40 were either tiling or not available at all. On Sunday morning, there was no TV reception at all on any channels. The Wifi worked about 10% of the time. We were located in the back of the hotel and apparently, the signal does not go that far. For the price we paid for this room, I expected much more. August 29, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good location This hotel was a pretty standard Holiday Inn. The location at Brookline was quite close to many tourist attractions. It was within walking distance of Fenway Park, the Prudential Centre and Boston Commons. It lies right on the Subway line, which made it easy to get downtown too. The only drawback to this hotel is its design. There is a central courtyard, which many of the rooms either are near or have windows open toward the center. Unfortunately, in the morning, it can get quite loud with people eating breakfast and such. This was not ideal for my group as we like to sleep in. Otherwise the stay was very enjoyable!
