Bed was very comfy and great value for money for a king size bed. Only one snaggle because we had the king size room we got a robe, water a chocolate bar but there was only one of each when there was two of us. Other than that lovely stay would reccomend. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Staying one night in Coventry South Holiday Inn Holiday Inn in Coventry South was an average experience. Room was large and comfortable, clean, quite with good sleep quality. However, no running machine was available (Out of order) and Wifi was not available in the breakfast. Running outside was not possible: no park, just highways. This is annoying because I love running after work to evacuate my stress and I like reading news at breakfast on my iPhone through Wifi. I have to add staff was very kind with me. May 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great weekend break We were welcomed to the hotel by a lovely member of staff, who made sure we were aware of all the facilities available. She also greeted us as Gold members and gave us a choice in 'rewards' extra points or a drink. Our room was upgraded and was superb. We had a lovely relaxing weekend and will be returning soon. As we were in the area for a dog show, it is so nice that the hotel are more than happy to receive well behaved dogs. We had two with us and I think the puppy was a hit with staff. April 25, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Loved this hotel I am a Gold card member and stay mainly in Crowne Plaza in the group but I used my points for a 2 night break with my family and we booked a twin queen bed room which was very comfortable for me, my husband and twin daughters. Firstly, the room no2 was in a quiet location on the ground floor and we had a really good sleep both nights, the breakfast voucher was very good value for money and the cooked to order breakfast delicious. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating, even bringing pots of hot chocolate to the room when I had asked if they had any sachets for the room. The only small improvement I could suggest would be to upgrade the internet as the wifi strength varied around the hotel. We had breakfast both mornings, dinner in the restaurant , and room service for dinner the second evening and all of the food was very nice and we felt gave very good value with generous portions. All of the staff engaged with us in conversation and were very genuine in ensuring we were happy with everything. April 18, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service In other Holiday Inns that I have stayed in sometimes the staff are not customer orientated and you feel like a room number and not a person. However, here the staff were brilliant. Very attentitive to my needs, kept checking if I needed anything and when my colleague got stuck in traffic for 4 hours before picking me up they went the extra mile in terms of service. Of particular mention are Rachel who organised my room service superbly and Sam who was in the lounge area constantly checking my caffeine levels were sufficient. Well done team and thank you for making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. April 7, 2014

The very helpful lady on reception made sure we were welcomed and advised us of all the facilities the Hotel had. Breakfast was brilliant, such a choice and lovely staff. Will stay here again when we are in this area on business, will most certainly recommend to friends/family and business associates. March 27, 2014

Staffing was patchy in terms of availability but all were courteous and welcoming. The gym is very basic, only 3 machines one of which was broken, one very old and poorly equipped. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Strange Hotel Hotel at face value is good enough. Rooms are nice enough, however are either permanently freezing or borderline desert heat. You have to put the radiator on, however there was no adjustment settings, and seeing as I stayed for the week, I found this slightly inconvenient. Food in the lobby is good. I ordered a chicken tikka ciabatta type thing, with a side of green veg, (sugar snaps, peas etc) however was advised that they were out of sugar snaps and had substituted this for broccoli (1 piece) and would knock it off my bill. I asked her how she intended to do this as I'd already paid by card, and the waitress responded, "I'll ask my manager", to which she never came back. I spent a week here, but unfortunately don't think i'll be spending another day. February 19, 2014

We stayed at the Holiday Inn, Coventry South, for 3 nights and can honestly say that this was one of the best Holiday Inn experiences we have had, to date. The staff were friendly and courteous. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable (a little dated but not too bad). The food in the restaurant, at breakfast and dinner, was great. We would most certainly recommend this hotel to friends and we're sure that we will be staying again Thanks to all the staff for a lovely weekend. February 18, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfy & Spacious Room. Breakfast Experience Not The Best Good size room, clean and tidy. The shower was poor. It's not an electric shower so has the usual built in control by the taps that divert the water to the shower head. The power from the showere head was poor so you have to stand close to the taps to make sure you get a half decent soaking. By doing this water lands on the edge of the bath by the taps and falls onto the floor leaving a pool of water even the though the curtain is inside the bath as requested. No toilet brush in the bathroom. Disappointed with the breakfast experience. Lots of dirty tables upon arrival and no member of staff to be seen. Food and drinks not replenished. No orange juice left, just an empty jug on show. No grilled tomatoes left, apart from the two that had slipped down the side of the tray. Eventually a member of staff arrived to clear tables but whilst I was there no attempt was made to replenish the empty food trays and drinks. The food wasn't particularly hot either even though there is the usual heat lamps over the food, December 16, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent room, good food great all round hotel. I have been working in the area for the last 4 weeks and have stayed in three different hotels. This is the best hotel, the rooms are modern, clean and above all else they are warm. The staff are great and very helpful. The only downside is the location, there is very little else in the area and if you want to go out it is a drive, but that is the case for most hotels in that area. A very relaxing experience and thoroughly recommended. November 30, 2013

My wife and I had lunch which consisted of a burger and chips and a cheese pizza with two small glasses of house red wine at a cost of 38 pounds which we thought was very expensive for very basic food. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed Due to work requirements I spend a few nights a week away in hotels and as a matter of choice I generally stay in a Holiday Inn and this particular experience in Coventry is the very first time I have had to be VERY dissatisfied. I arrived on site at about 11.30pm having had a 3 hour driver. I was looking forward to something to eat, a shower and bed. When I checked in I asked the receptionist if I could order some food now so it would be ready by the time I had had my shower and he informed me that the kitchen was closed and proceeded to offer me some take away menus. Since I am Gluten intolerant this was less than satisfactory. I mentioned to the receptionist that I believed that the Holiday Inn had a 24hr room service option and he said no that the kitchen closed at 10.00pm. When I finally got into my room I saw a menu, which as i suspected advertised 24hr room service on some items. It was late and I was tired so I decided not to pursuit. I went to bed hungry! The next morning I was as yo can imagine excited about breakfast. I ordered an omelette with mushrooms and potato rosti on the side. The omelette took a while to come, when it did it was without the side of mushrooms and potato rosti. The waitress apologised and went off to get them. Whilst she was gone I noticed my omelette was not cooked - as in runny in the middle! I told the waitress when she returned and she took it back to the kitchen. When she brought it back the second time, it was still uncooked, but by now i was late for my meeting so I got up and left with no breakfast! I hope this is not a suggestion of what is to come otherwise I will need to switch from Holiday Inn!!!" Disappointed does not cover what I felt after my visit. November 6, 2013

Our room (5) was very spacious. toilet didn't flush very well but was clean and tidy. Large flat tv and very comfy bed. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Didn't use the restaurant as arrived late and left early but looked clean. November 2, 2013

Including Rachel's giggle as she serves you at the bar. I recently stayed at this hotel and was pleasantly pleased. As you approach it it looks dated, do not be put off. The staff have been well versed in customer relationships and they do it very well! I was made to feel welcome from start to finish, a great stay! Thank you Holiday Inn Coventry South.. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by nice hotel let down by the staff I was staying here for a conference and part of a group of 20 or so people, the hotel at first seemed clean and tidy, and as i was a 5 or 10 mins early, i asked if there was anywhere i could get a coffee, er, no! This was the answer from the restaurant staff who were serving breakfast! The member of staff on the front desk was unhelpful and didn't seem to know what was going on, once i got to my room, it was clean and tidy so things seemed to be on the up, until we got to the restaurant that evening, the food was diabolical, overcooked, dried and over an hour late, yes we were a large group to feed, but the food was truly awful and the staff were clearing plates around others who were still eating and one guy still hadn't even bee served ! We were told food was available until 9.30, I tried to order desert at 9.10pm, to be told I were too late, even though we were still within time after a discussion i eventually managed to get one, but this is truly bad service! It was not our fault we were served over hour late. Back to my room, for a good nights sleep - no, there was a party ! so I could hear other customers in their rooms who thought the party was still going on! Bad experience for me, won't be coming back in a hurry, would like compensation! Shame, nice hotel let down badly by the people who work there. October 23, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good stay, shame about the mouse. I was in my room and watching the football whilst reclined on my bed within about three minutes of getting out of my car. The room was spacious, clean, with a good size tv and a cracking shower. I got an undisturbed sleep and it would have been perfect if not for the fact that whilst getting dressed in the morning a mouse ran from behind the drawers to the door before escaping under it. I was explaining at check-out about said rodent when the 7 or 8 people sat in reception erupted in shrieks and cries of "there it is!". I can only assume the mouse was following me. I was only there 11 hours but it was ideal and very comfy... but if you could remove the squatters from behind the drawers that'd be great. I'd certainly stay again and recommend however. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Efficient and comfortable I've stayed here numerous times while working in the area and have always found the staff welcoming, pleasant and efficient. The free Wi-Fi is great and the rooms are clean and comfortable but a couple of them looking a bit tired could do with a lick of paint, especially in the bathrooms. The reception staff always recognise my Platinum Priority Club Status and until recently have been lucky enough to receive a room upgrade. Since the IHG rebrand, I haven't received an upgrade, even on a Sunday night with an empty car park, but have been offered a reward voucher instead. The location is perfect for Coventry and the Midlands in general. October 17, 2013
