the major issue I had with this hotel was the lack of hot water. the staff did change my room which resolved the issue but others in my group had the same issue.

Staff was the best, very friendly service and comfort but the hotel was preparing for a inspection and had to paint and run a jack hammer while customers were sitting at the bar drinking a beer after work. This made some customers upset that they went back to there room. Also, while it was raining outside, there was a large water leak in the stairway. The maintenance needs to be conducted when there are fewer customers or on a slow weekend or let the customers know what is being done so we can plan on being out of the area.

As always, customer service is the best. So much to offer Priority Gold & Platinum members. I never stay anywhere else when visiting El Paso. Breakfast is unbeatable. Would recommend to anyone.

The air vent in the bathroom leaked continuously causing a slippery condition on the floor. It's a wonder I did not slip and fall in the middle of the night. Every night there was poor internet condition in my room (202). Room 202 in the Concierge Level was directly over the bar, and low, obnoxious music went on till at least midnight, so this property is not set up for business people who need their sleep. The restaurant food was good but the service was slow and somewhat inattentive.

My stay was fine with the exception of the noise of the a/c. Nice bonus live music in the bar area in the evening, just the noise from AC was annoying.
A little weird as it seems the hotel was originally a hotel with no interior corridors that was enclosed. 7ft glass windows (like sliding glass door sized) facing out to corridor.
Overall I would stay again but maybe not when AC is needed.

I have been completely won over by the great front desk staff at the Holiday Inn on Gateway in El Paso. I can't tell you how pleasant and professional your team is to me. I am greeted warmly and always shown the ultimate in respect and thanked each time for my return visit.

The Staff was unbelievable. They treat you as family and ensure your every need is met. They went out of their way to ensure that I was not inconvienced in anyway. There was a huge party going on where the whole hotel was full and they still found a way to make you feel specialo.

The lady working in the Concierge Lounge was not helpful, friendly or representing Holiday Inn in any way complimentary. Three of us walked in and sat down on a sofa. We were not welcomed, asked what we would like to drink, or acknowledged in any way. When I finally walked up to the bar, she still said nothing...kept on putting bottles in the refrigerator. Yes, she saw us and saw me standing there. I finally asked if we could get served. She curtly reminded me that everyone would have to come forward and give there name and room. I went back and told my friends what she had said. In the mean time, she left the lounge to go get a customer a drink that she could not make right there. It was a good five minutes before she returned. Two of my friends finally left without being served.
It was never like this in the past. Don't know what her problem was?? Unhappy about something.

we have stayed at this hotel a few times because we like that it has Teddy's bar, but this time we got a room that a few things were broken.
The towel holder fell apart, and it was obvious it had been repaired before. The toilet paper holder also fell off.
I stayed two nights as my receipt shows, but when I looked at my credit card bill online I was charged for 7 nights! I spoke with Roberto in accounting, and I am currently waiting for the correction.
I am a gold member, I did not expect this kind of service.

As mentioned , this hotel is a little dated and could use a renovation, but its other attributes more then make up for it. Breakfast was great and had several options you don't normally se on a breakfast buffet such as Menudo. The hotel lobby bar has live music in the atrium nightly, both performers i saw were great! This property also has a club/bar connected to it. I ended up at the club all three nights. One night was Kareoke, one night was Salsa lessons and dancing, and the third night was a DJ. definately had a great time with hotel guests and even more locals at this club. Hope to stay here again on my next trip.

No issues with the room. I was provided a fridge and microwave for our extended stay. The bed was comfortable. WIFI was fast. The hotel restaurant was great for both breakfast and dinner. My only complaint is as a rewards member I was given additional points for one night of my stay in lieu of the breakfast buffet and evening drinks but they never posted to my account. The breakfast buffet and the evening drinks were a great benefit on the days that I used them. Other than that the staff was great and the room was comfortable.

Great service to accomodate in a room far from noice. The only issue was the bed, non-confortable bed (non common in a HI). But everithing else was great.

I recently stayed here for 3 nights and found my experience to be worse than any of the other Holiday Inn stays. The check in process took 15minutes and I was the only person waiting in line. The 2nd night I was locked out of the hotel and my room bc my key wouldn't work (it sat next to my Chapstick all day, not near my cc or phone). I went to have my key reactivated and waited 37minutes bc there was one person working the front desk and 6ppl waiting in line ahead of me. When I finally made it to the front the lady told me I should have skipped in front of everyone else. I don't believe that is professional. Throughout my stay, I only had warm water and my tv went out on the last night I was there.
The only good things about this location is the workout facility and the kind housekeeping staff.

The first night there, I got back to the room late and the television would not work. I just decided to go to bed and I did report it the next morning and it was working the next night. Also, there was a persistent odor in my room. It smelled like sewer gas. At times it was very bad. I stuck it out and hopefully it was a temporary problem they were having. Other than that, the staff is really nice. Hotel seems to be getting old.

I FOUND THE HOLIDAY INN A GREAT PLACE FOR MY WIFE AND MYSELF. THE STAFF WAS GREAT. I FOUND THE RESTRAURANT EXCELLENT, ESPECIALLY THE BUFFET IN THE MORNING. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE ENTIRE STAFF FOR MAKING MY STAFF AS COMFORTABLE AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Nothing has changed from 2 years ago. As a matter of fact, everything about this Hotel has declined. My room was not ready upon check in, a co-workers room was given to someone else, the rooms and decor are outdated, there was an annoying humming sound coming out of the vent all night long and on one night the hallway and my room smelled like a sewer! Also when checking in, there was a guest complaining about being over billed. I will never ever stay here again and I will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The staff at the hotel is great, they couldn't do enough for me. I was there for 72 days and the room was adequately comfortable, bed was good and TV was very nice. I enjoyed the two free drinks a night though rarely took advantage of it.
The hotel is worn and looks it. The lobby and lounge need significant updating. The lounge particularly. There needs to be more TV's with different things on them, sports, news etc placed in a way that you can see them while you are sitting away from the bar. Having only one TV up inside the bar when there are only a dozen seats at the bar isn't smart. The sliding door in my room has to be 30 years old and the showers need new shower heads. The pool area was dirty and the water stains on the glass was incredible. Looked like the windows hadn't been cleaned in months.
The HUGE parties that shake the entire hotel are annoying and will probably be the true one thing that will keep me from staying there again when I come back to El Paso again later this year.
Bottom line is if it wasn't for the staff, particularly Anita, I would have left after the first party. Its a tired hotel, the bar and lounge are poor, the restaurant isn't open on the weekends and neither is the bar and when traveling. those are pretty important parts of a hotel stay. Staff gets a 10, the rest of it gets a 5.

I stayed at this hotel on a business trip as it was recommended on company website. Usually pretty pleased with the predictability of Holiday Inn. This was aweful. The property was pretty beat but the ultimate kicker was the bed. The center of the bed was literally ten inches lower than the sides. By the time I went to bed it was pretty late so I did not discover it earlier. I tried to make the best of it but in about twenty minutes my back was killing me. I ended up leaving and staying elsewhere at around 11:30pm. Really the lower staus of this property should be noted when booking. A comfortable bed is the top item on my requirements list.

I have been coming to this hotel for many years for business travel. I was here when new owners took over and when the service went down hill. I eventually stop staying at this hotel due to a series of bad experiences. I recently came back due to a recommendation from a co-worker. I noticed right away that this hotel have made a lot of changes in my absence. I like all of the improvements made to the hotel, including the staff. My rating is base upon my new experience with the hotel not including this stay. I think people will like coming to the new and improved HI - Airport just as I liked coming back.
