It has been a "wonderful" experience as a long-term guest at your Holiday Inn, Fairborn, Ohio. As a regular business traveler all-over the U.S., I have much experience to draw from when I tell you that the staff is one of the very best -- "Bar-none." They are extremely customer focused from the moment you arrive in the parking lot through checkout. I have witness all aspects of what and how each department work together as a team can a customers stay a delightful experience each visit to your hotel in Fairborn. You should package their professionalism and service with a smile attitude as the water mark for all your locations. What these individuals and team has done is made me a marketing representative who now push your brand to everyone I meet who have plan to come to Dayton, OH and need a place to stay.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by BigMommaD Bed was good and room service was nice.
The room and bathroom was very clean and taken care of. The cleaning lady was super nice and asked if there was anything else we needed. I thought that was very nice of her. The front staff was mostly helpful, but I asked about tax exempt forms and not everyone was helpful to the situation. The restaurant was nice but too over priced!!! $11 for a breakfast equivalent to a free breakfast at other places. The pool was nice also. There is also no fridge or microwave in the place. And I couldn't find a toaster anywhere to fix a non-$11 breakfast.

This is the worst Holiday Inn i have ever stayed in anywhere. It is supposed to be under renovation but it was filthy from other use, not the reconstruction. The elevator looked like some one had drug a body out the doors.
never ever stay in that place again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ROMAD125 Okay experience
I have stayed in this particular hotel on business once or twice a year since 2006. Generally my stays have been pleasant however, my most recent stay was not up to the standard I have previously experienced. Check-in wait was over 10 minutes while the clerk attempted to check on an upgrade for the only individual in front of me. When the manager finally came and explained the upgrade situation to the other customer, the clerk started to check me in but, was in a rush to complete my check-in. I was not welcomed, given an apology for having to wait, or asked if I had stayed at the Dayton/Fairborn Holiday Inn before and explaining the pool, weight room, dining hours etc. which is the standard I had previously experienced. The breakfast coupon you receive for being a Platinum member is also inconsistent. During an earlier stay this year I received two coupons per day (one for myself and one for my wife) but, this time I only received one coupon for myself. When I pointed this out the clerk told me that isn't how they do it. I assured him it was previously and his response was you are all checked in. He seemed more concerned with getting the other individual the manager was now checking in taken care of. To be fair, I have never seen this particular clerk and he may have been a recent hire. My room was fine except it was on the interstate side in the rear so a little noisy with truck traffic. Recommend you ask for the front side when making your reservation. The breakfast staff are friendly and the food was good. The bartender has been there a long time and is very pleasant. Overall it was an okay experience but, in my case I may look for another hotel in the Wright Patterson area next time.

Rooms were great -- we got the adjoining rooms as requested. HOWEVER, I made all the reservations through our Block of rooms and asked the question when making the reservation at 800-HOLIDAY -- Obviously I don't need 4 rooms for myself. Will the people I am making these reservations for be able to put the room charges on to their own credit card. I was told YES.
However, when checking out at the hotel I checked to be sure only ONE room was on my card. I was told NO. ALL rooms were on my card. They couldn't switch them because it was an advance purchase. I explained to them that was not the information I was told when making the reservations. The other parties had given their credit cards when they checked in thinking the charges were going to their own cards. However, they were not told that was only for incidentals. The front staff at the Holiday Inn Fairborn said there was NOTHING they could at this point. Just kept saying it was an advance purchase and nothing could be done.
No SORRY for the misrepresentation or anything.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by vivette reservation mix-up by hotel/initially unhelpful attitude by staff.
Had reservation through a group function, but didn't get appropriate rate.Contacted manager before stay to fix problem. Assured all was well and was sent confirmation of room/dates/rates. After a long travel day my husband, arriving before me, checked in.Told no reservation for that evening, though rest of stay was still confirmed. No rooms available-hotel was full. Reservationist was not apologetic, acting as though we were at fault., though later found it was hotel's fault. After some time a room was finally found, on ground floor (we had requested upper floor). Later when I arrived I thanked staff for finding room, but said we were assured a quiet upper floor room. Staff person later more accommodating and found another room, though said it was difficult to do.The staff is trained to be friendly-which they are, but not always helpful beyond the minimum. The room was standard, fine and clean- nice to have white linens on bed. The rooms at Holiday Inns could be so easily improved with better, brighter lighting, particularly in the bathrooms, but all in all, ok for the rate, just not a place I'd stay in again. Hotel restaurant: ambitious dinner menu doesn't deliver and overpriced. But nice servers. May want to simplify menu and execute better. Tried for a wake-up call 2 nights in a row. My fault for calling after 10pm, I guess, because tried several times first night before someone answered. Next night never did get an answer, after trying numerous times. Probably understaffed -so frequently the staff gets blamed when there are simply too few people to handle the needs/demands of many guests. Didn't need cleaning service every day, but good work and friendliness by cleaning staff when needed.

We stayed here because we have stayed at many Holiday Inn Expresses, not realizing there is a difference. Holiday Inn is a full service hotel, which means no free continental breakfast, no free coffee and tea in the lobby all day. They have a restaurant where you can pay for such amenities. We didn't go. The rooms and bathrooms are older and were adequately clean. The bath towels were thin. The walls are thin too. We heard a lot of hallway noise, both neighbors' wake-up calls, and could even could hear the person in the next room sneezing. Luckily, the staff put us in a quieter area as requested when I called the hotel directly prior to our reservation date, so at least that helped. But my husband requested a room with a king bed when he called the Holiday Inn reservations number but the person taking that reservation put it in as two doubles instead. We didn't bother to say anything because it was late and we were tired. The mattress on one bed had a giant lump on one entire side, so we slept in separate beds and both got a good night's sleep. The pillows were great and the heating unit worked well. Overall, the stay was satisfactory, but I think I might look elsewhere next time and use this as a backup. Nothing too great and nothing too bad.

... for taking care of "old" Vietnam Veterans at the annual Reunion of the Tan Son Nhut Association. Some of us are as old as the hills; others are as new as the morning dew on the roses! At least, in our hearts, we are.

We were at the Fairborn Holiday Inn in October for a military reunion. The hotel was totally booked up with at least 3 military reunions and various other events. Included in our room was a voucher for breakfast (a buffet) each day. There were incredibly long lines each day for breakfast and on the one evening we went into the restaurant for dinner, were told there would be a 30 minute wait after seating until our order was taken because "everyone decided to come in at the same time". Upon looking around, there were about 5 tables occupied, one of which had a party of 8 or 10, but the restaurant was otherwise empty. The breakfast buffet was well-stocked and replenished - the bottleneck seemed to be not enough staff to clear tables and get waiting guests seated. I suspect lack of adequate staffing was also the problem at dinner. The food, when it came was good, just slow.
