Fab hotel...best staff we have ever come across in hotels.
Lovely welcome - great touch to offer a glass of wine and there were choc.eggs for the children.
Rooms were warm and comfortable..didn't use the leisure facilities, so can't comment on them.
Breakfast was good, albeit a bit expensive. Restaurant food was ok, although we experienced poor quality steaks...however, staff were great at sorting this out...nothing was too much trouble.
I would be happy to recommend this hotel to anyone.

We use holiday inn when we visit relations and wait until you have an offer on to visit and the breakfast is better than any other place that we stay at

Hotel room and reception all that you could ask for. All the staff were welcoming and helpful. Nice touch with a glass of wine on arrival and cookies for the kids! The rooms were clean and tidy and the arrangements made with the hotel in advance to have all three together were met without fuss.
On the downside the pool had seen better days and was starting to look a bit shabby in places (as well as the usual cordon for lane swimming leaving little left for anyone else - not much of a problem as so few in it).
The breakfast was probably the biggest let down. Service was not the best - no one checked to see if we wanted more tea/coffee at all, some of the food ran out a number of times and replacements were very slow in being put out, the toaster was very slow and ineffective (resulting in some people putting bread through twice and causing a long wait), and the bacon (good bacon!) was not well cooked. Whoever had the chefs hat on was clearly not a chef or just couldn't care!

After some initial problem the hotel staff were quick to respond to issues and rectify them.
The staff at front desk went out of their way to make my stay more enjoyable.
The gym does not have enough running machines, needs some fold up ones to cater for peak time.
Cleanliness of the changing room is very poor it isn't monitored and people are allowed to leave clothes on benches rather than use the lockers. This means there isn't any space for other people changing.
Temperature of the changing room is far too cold.
Temperature of the gym is far too warm.

This is primarily a hotel catering for a business clientele. However as senior leisure breakers we find it very relaxing and would highly recommend this to anyone. All staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. In the restaurant a good selection of excellent food very well presented.
A good location easy to reach but away from the hustle of nearby cities of Southampton and Portsmouth.

This was our 4th visit to this particular site and we were both completely happy with the room, it's location, the breakfast and the wonderfully polite staff.
The room was clean although they are looking quite worn and shabby now. E.g. worn lamimate in the room hallway but nothing major.
Comfortable bed and plenty of freah towels.

After a full hot day in Peppa Pig world my children & I were greeted by the most welcoming, friendly, happy and extremely helpful. The room was great and really big, pool is great although the shallow end isn't that shallow so wasn't great for my five year old but very pleasant, pool side staff were also very friendly & helpful. Drinks in the bar were a little expensive but no more than in any other hotel and the breakfast in the morning really set us up well for another day with Peppa! Lots of choice and all tasted great. Only thing I would point out is if your planning on 2 days with Peppa this hotel is quite a distance from the park but if Peppa is not your reason for staying perfect place to stay.

Stayed for 3 nights while visiting relatives between Christmas and New Year, I was made to feel very welcome by all the staff. The hotel was clean and confortable as it has been on previous occasions. As good as any stay away from home.

A very enjoyable one night stay whilst Christmas shopping in Southampton / Portsmouth. We're a family of 4 and were given a comfortable family room with excellent pre-arrival customer service and it continued during our stay. Excellent pool, sauna and steam room facilities. Would definitely use again.

The hotel is large and the sound levels exceptionally low - this was borne out on my second night when I returned to a full blown disco being held in the reception area - the place was rocking! However on returning to my room (on the first floor) you would not have known it was taking place at all - this is a solidly constructed building indeed.
Staff were all very friendly - reception, cleaners and even a painter very courteous - this is what you want in any hotel.
Room was well equipped and very comfortable indeed.
Cannot comment on the food as I ate out.
This is a nice hotel but the only downside is getting to it from the M27 (Segensworth exit) as the road to Fareham (A27) has hardly altered at all (from the 1980's) but cannot cope with the local rush hour traffic levels for one minute so try to get there early or later in the evening is my advice.

WE BOOKED THIS HOTEL IN JULY AS WE VISITED FRIENDS WHO LIVED LOCAL TO THE HOTEL DUE TO MY PARTNER BEING DIASBLED AND IN A WHEELCHAIR WE NEED A HOTEL AS COULD NOT STAY AT THERE HOUSE.... WE FOUND THE WELCOME TO THE HOTEL WAS GREAT WE WERE OFFERED A FREE GLASS OF WINE FOR BEING PRIORITY CLUB MEMBERS WHICH WAS A NICE SUPRISE.....UPON ENTERING OUR ROOM WHICH WAS MORE THAN SPACIOUS IT HAD ENOUGH ROOM TO SWING A CAT BUT A VERY SMALL BED.....WE THEN HAD A LOOK INTO THE BATHROOM WHICH USUALLY IN ALL HOLIDAY INN HOTELS THE ASSECCIBLE ROOMS ARE ALWAYS WET ROOMS NOT THIS ONE IT HAD HIGH RISE TOILET WHICH MY PARTNER CANNOT USE AND IT ONLY HAD A LOW LINE BATH AGAIN HE CANNOT USE DUE TO HIS MOVEMENT RESTICTION WITH HIS CONDITION.... WE WERE IN SUCH A RUSH TO MEET FRIENDS WE DIDNT HAVE TIME TO RAISE THE MATTER WITH THE HOTEL BUT DID CONTACT THEM AFTER OUR STAY WAS OVER IT TURNED OUT ALL THE ACCESSIBLE ROOMS IN THIS HOTEL HAVE NO WET ROOMS EVEN THOUGH WHEN WE PHONED RESERVATIONS THEY SAID THAT ALL HOLIDAY INN ACCESSIBLE ROOMS ARE WET ROOMS.....SO TO CONCLUDE WE NOW ALWAYS MAKE SURE BEFORE HAND AND WILL NOT LEAVE IT TO ASSUME ALL HOLIDAYS INNS OFFER THE SAME AS WE FOUND OUT IT IS NOT THE CASE....WE ARE OFF TO MEET FRIENDS AGAIN THIS YEAR SO WILL NEED TO FIND ALTERNATIVE ACCOMODATION AS THIS HOTEL IS NOT SUITABLE FOR US

Chose this hotel as we were visiting Portsmouth for a university open day. We arrived quite late which was a bit of a bonus as we missed the rush in the restaurant. There was a wedding reception going on in the room behind the bar and it was quite noisy but gave the hotel a bit of a buzz. The food in the restaurant was OK, standard for this type of hotel. Despite the noise from the wedding party the room was far enough away for it not to be heard. The room itself was very spacious. We had a family room, double bed and two single chair beds. Clean and tidy and not too tired looking. Some toiletries in the bathroom and a good, refreshing shower.
Breakfast had plenty of choice, both hot and cold.
If I needed a hotel in the area again I would definitely consider this one.

Fabulously comfortable, and SO quiet! Didn't need much interaction with staff, but those we did speak with were friendly and helpful. Within easy reach of early morning ferries from Portsmouth - will most definitely use again.

After crossing from Le Havre to Portsmouth after driving 320 miles up from Civrey it was a good break before driving up to Yorkshire the following day. We have stayed at Holiday Inn Express before and were plesantly suprised when we arrived at the Fareham Solent. We had a couple of drinks as a nightcap and enjoyed the comfortable bed and had a refreshed start on our jouney home to Yorkshire.

No early check-in allowed despite Priority Gold status. Kept waiting for nearly 5 hours. Room allocated was not the room type I had booked. Back to Reception and correct room type allocated. Room spartan, devoid of comfort or character. Reception staff debriefed at check-out.
First and last time at this hotel.

The leisure facilities were tatty.
The price was a little high considering the location and the day of the week.
Bathroom was mouldy.
Dinner was served on a piece of wood which was off putting and un hygienic. The wood was scored where people had cut up their food, a nightmare if you were a vegetarian. Other diners seemed unhappy with this arrangement also.

Staff were at all times attentive without being overbearing.We were made to feel welcome from our arrival to departure.
We noticed how 'child-friendly' the hotel staff are and little
things such as a balloon for every child go a long way.
Our first grandchild is to be born shortly and we would certainly consider taking him/her to the hotel.
The food was excellent and I particularly enjoyed eating the fish dishes.
We would certainly recommend the hotel to friends and look forward to staying again soon.

We had a lovely weekend stay at the Holiday Inn, Solent while visiting family. This is our second stay at this hotel all staff helpful and friendly. Rooms clean and beds very comfortable. We could not fault the Breakfast and we even had dinner one evening which was lovely. As we have children they love to use the pool. we are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you
