Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overall Experience The guest rooms are a bit dated, and could stand to be updated. There is an exhaust fan in the bathroom that runs constantly and is quite loud. As a spire member, I expected a microwave, or at least a small refrigerator, but got neither. The window coverings would not close completely. there was always a gap through which light would enter. As with most IHG hotels, the desk chair is too low, even at it's highest position. The HVAC system was EXCELLENT! You can set the temperature on the wall OR at the unit, and the unit achieves it quickly and quietly. The "French Vanilla" coffee in the room was great - I just wish they gave more than one each day. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Charging mechanism of Holiday Inn Gurnee sucks I’d stayed in Holiday Inn Gurnee, IL, twice during my recent visits to US. 1) 7th – 22nd Jan 2016, Booking ID – 66334919 2) 1st - 20th Feb 2016, Booking ID – 67869565 During both the stays I was authorized enormous amounts & I am still chasing my bank / VISA to get the refund. As if this was not enough, a lien amount of $362.39 was marked against my card which blew up my credit rating. I am not very happy with the charging mechanism. During both my visits I was overcharged an astounding $1700 more & the Accounting team was clueless. They were also not very helpful in resolving my issue. I wasted a lot of my time in chasing them. NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE April 7, 2016
