For staff to do this well when the hotel was completely booked is remarkable! Our room was cleaned very early each day. The beds were firmer than I liked but that is personal preference. The shower was GREAT! The breakfast buffet was excellent both mornings and we used our free tickets for that. Included was free coffee and orange juice! Parking was great. Every time I met a staffer in the hallway, they smiled and said good day to me. Someone has worked really hard to deliver excellent customer service training in this establishment. Kudos to the management and staff of this Holiday Inn for making a weekend true pleasure!
Oh, and the location of this Holiday Inn was excellent. It was easy to get to off of the interstate. Also there were excellent restaurants available if you chose not to eat at the excellent facility included.

I liked my room but the bathrooms should be cleaned better and also they need to stop letting people charge things to the rooms. I had someone charge a dinner on my room and I did not eat at the hotel because i do not like hotel food. Also the air conditioner was too noisy they need to maintain thing better too .

I booked this hotel by calling the mail reservation line and reserved 2 rooms with double beds with one of them having a seat in the shower for one of our travelers being disabled. My wife arrived at the hotel only to find out this room was not available. I should not that I have an email confirming from the reservation person that we indeed, did have this room reserved. The hotel manager that night, Brandy, was very rude and failed to show any compassion towards the situation. After spending some quite some time discussing this, they finally decided to call one of their sister hotels to have a chair brought over, problem solved, except for the rude management. We get our room cards, only to find out that we have been placed on the second floor (no problem, we can use the elevator), with rooms all the way at the end of the hall. This is after they have been informed that we have someone with us who has trouble walking (you would think this is apparent when you request an handicap accessible bathroom). We don't complain, we just take the room and move on. The rooms were clean, and the rest of the staff was pleasant, but when management gives you this first impression, you don't ever plan on returning.

Room smelled horrible like body odor or water damage. Bed was super hard and very uncomfortable. Bathroom was clean and room appeared clean but just stunk horribly. I did inform the front desk and the supplied me with air freshener that covered the smell up for may 10 mins before returning. Overall the hotel is very old and outdated. I will likely not stay there again.

I thought the bed and pillows were good, which is better than most places. Place looks outdated and breakfast wasn't that good. Off brand cereal taste like it. Internet was slow.

My family booked two rooms at this hotel we asked for a couple of extra pillows when we got there and never recieved them. The next day the told us that there were no clean pillow covers which I feel was a lame excuse. My wife and her sister, neice and Nephew went down to get food at the Bar and grill in the hotel While I was laid up in the room with and Gout flare up. I ordered Room service when they left and did not recieve my food for over an hour. They actually returned and my wife called to find out where my food was before it finally arrived short my side salad that never showed up. I have stayed at better hotels for half the price and IHG really needs to look into why this hotel would treat customers in this manner.

After a long day on the road, the HI staff was willing to work with us to get a quiet room with a location to suit our needs. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the Joplin, MO Holiday Inn and will continue to stay here on future trips up North. Food service was also excellent. Room service was prompt and staff wanted to make sure we had just what we needed.

My home is too small for family to stay with me so when they come from Illnoise and Iowa they always ask if I have reserved their room at the Holiday Inn. They have stayed there several times the past 5 years and never a bad experience. Thank you for providing such a nice place for them.

At check in 4 people near the desk did not recognize my presence. Two were dealing with another guest while one of the other seemed to busy with a computer and the fourth stood b watching. It was only an 8 minute wait before one of them noticed me.
Signage to the facility at Hwy 71 could be better.

Hotel was not a disappointment, we arrived late and the staff was very quick to check us in, they provided good instructions on where to park to be close to our entry door as there are several. The room was clean and well maintained, the hallway as well. We did not eat at the on-site restaurant rather opted for Bob Evans just up the street (highly recommend them).
We had time to kill so opted to stay in our room and housekeeping showed up and was very quick but efficient.
We would stay here again.

Room smelled musty, climate control was not working properly and it was like a maze trying to navigate the halls. To top it off they offered nothing for my Platinum status not even a bottle of water.

Halls are disgustingly outdated and smell musty. Rooms could use updating as well. Hotel is dirty in places and is seldom cleaned( especially the stairways) . Outside smoking area is buy a main entrance and the area reaks of smoke. Roof in workout area has leaked for the last year or two. Worst yet is I never get the bonus points I pay for, even after talking to several desk clerks who promise I will .It is always a call or two to get the proper credit. There is no recognition for Platinum Members and no free breakfast or free drinks anymore. I have stayed here for years and my last stay was definitely my last stay!!

The Staff Could NOT have been better!! The Staff here is as good as it gets! NONE BETTER!! My travel associate developed a possible health issue and, staff here were Oh So Helpful! Could not have done more for us! Thank You ALL so much!! You REALLY did make a big difference!! It is really GREAT to be treated so well! It means so much to we the weary travelers of The United States!
CLEAN, COMFORTABLE ROOMS! VERY ATTENTIVE STAFF!
NO BETTER STAFF AT ANY HOTEL! This is an older property but, is in immaculate condition for an older property! This HOTEL is a CREDIT to the IHG brands!! When you look up Holiday Inn in the Funk and, Wagnell there should be a picture of THIS hotel because THIS hotel is what ALL Holiday Inns SHOULD be! Exemplary!
What else can I say? IF you are looking for a place to stay in the Joplin area even if you need to travel an hour or even 4 hours longer to get to where you're going to stay... choose THIS hotel IF you are thinking of stopping in Oklahoma someplace... Don't because it's the BEST!! YOU WILL BE HAPPY no THRILLED you did!! St. Louis where you're thinking of stopping? KEEP GOING and, come HERE!! Super Rates! Super Food! And, if you really want to go somewhere else to eat, (don't know why you would) There are LOTS of eateries in the area around this Hotel! What a GREAT place to stop!! Oh, I WILL BE BACK!! THIS is MY new stop in this part of my trips!!

My stay in Joplin at the Holiday Inn was convenient, the staff was courteous and friendly and the room was very comfortable. Although the lobby felt a bit dated, the room was very clean and had been remodeled and refreshed. I did not eat at the restaurant as I was dining a bit early for dinner and no one else was there then. The hotel location is a bit confusing....it's very convenient after you exit Highway 44 but then you have to wind through a side road to find the hotel itself. Perhaps more signage along the way would help. Overall, a good experience and a good value. I slept soundly and was ready to drive on in the morning refreshed.

We came down for the truck show and had to spend most of the saturday at the hotel because it was raining all day. First of all house keeping did not clean our room. Just brought towels in and left. Did not make beds or empty trash. The indoor pool was ice cold couldnt even enjoy it cause it was so cold. And there was a smell in the hallways like a backup sewer. It was awful and the smell was in our room to.

There was no hot water in the morning. This property expects their customers to be their auditors. They don't check anything until the customer complains. I sent the manager an email and got no response. Don't expect too much from this property and you won't be upset. Platinum priority club members do not get complimentary breakfast.

The Pros: Very comfortable suite. We needed sheets for the pull-out sofa and they were brought up fairly quickly. The separation between the bedroom and the "living room" was well done - my mother watched tv until 1:00 or so and we never heard a thing.
The (slight) cons: no recognition as IHG members. The elevator, hallway, and even the room had the smell of cigarette smoke. It was faint in the room, but definitely stronger in the elevator. It would have been nice to have a chair in the bedroom part.
It was a busy weekend - we were there for the cross-country meet and judging by the vans in the lot, there were several teams staying as well. However, we couldn't tell once we got into the hotel - service was quick and friendly, and our room was nice and quiet. We enjoyed our stay!

Every time I have had to stay at this place,it makes me ask why I stayed there!!!.....I need the points and the candelwood suites was full.
When the tornado hit,they jacked up the prices so much,My company would not pay that much so I stayed elsewhere.
Donna is usually the only one to check you in while several other ladies walk around doing nothing.
The wifi is horrible,hotel is old and rooms are ok at best
As a platinum priority club member,this is the worse hotel I have ever stayed at within the IHG group

Thankfully this hotel was just a stop over on our way to another destination. Otherwise it would have been a vacation disaster. We were disappointed with: humidity in the room (air conditioner ran all night, but did not clear the humidity), UNCLEAN, springs in the bed poking through, carpets in lobby dingy/black. SImply put, it was not a good experience!

The noise in the hall on second floor after 11pm was unacceptable. Had to call front desk to get it taken care of, Which took some time.. Was not able to get back to sleep, the doors were slammed.

This room was very small. It was a single queen on what we were told was on the PRIORITY CLUB Floor. I questioned if the Priority Club Floor had all small room? I would want to think PRIORITY would mean the BEST for our Members. Although the bathroom appeared to have been recently re-done, the sink area was not efficient for travelers........travelers generally have their STUFF in on bag for the bathroom and need to spread things out. There just wasn't room to do that.

I'm used to Holiday Inn Express, with its new buildings, new carpet, new bedding, new large flat screen TVs, and an overall clean and fresh smell. In that, this Holiday Inn was a little disappointing. The hallways smell musty and the rooms as well. Not bad, just reminds me of old hotels from decades ago. HI Express has spoiled me, I guess. This room was quite a bit less expensive as well, so it was a good value.
I travel by motorcycle. A good clean room with a forceful hot shower always makes me happy. This room had both.
Another plus is that they let us park our motorcycles in the front breezeway, in view of the front office. This is always comforting for motorcyclists; they're stolen or vandalized so often when parked around in the backs of hotels. Every hotel should have designated motorcycle parking.
The really bright point was the reception/accomodation staff. The two girls that greeted me and processed me into my room were extremely good. They both had big smiles, treated me as if I was their long-time friend, and remembered me by name every time they saw me. They are an asset to the corporation.

We stayed on the old wing of the of the hotel it felt very dirty and had a musty smell to it , also when I was making the reservation I was told there was a free breakfast buffet included wich was not the case would have rather stayed at the drury inn much cleaner and nicer
