From the smiles on the front desk staff as I was greeted at check in to the housekeeping staff who helped me with my luggage with no hesitation. When I arrived to my room , I was impressed with the size of the room, the pillow top mattress and the large flat screen tv...ordered room service , it was here before I new it and it was delicious. The next night I decided to go down to the restaurant , which I was a bit nervous as I was dinning alone, but that feeling went away at the moment I entered the restaurant, the service was great, staff was friendly and the food and pricing exceeded my expectations. I would stay at this hotel over any other hotel in the Kitchener area September 30, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Room not cleaned and over priced The front desk staff were all very helpful and pleasant. However, the room hasn't been cleaned properly. There were items left in drawers and on the nightstand. The rooms themselves are showing their age and the HVAC system is temperamental at best. My company has booked me in there several times over the past year and the elevator call buttons still don't light up. A little thing but annoying. September 27, 2013

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, every detail was thought of!!! The receptions was outstanding, the food was amazing and the staff were so welcoming and helpful. The rooms were nice and spacious, clean and very comfortable! I would definitely stay there again!!! September 25, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by part of a fairytale wedding We stayed at the Holiday Inn as our daughter had booked her wedding ceremony and reception here. The room, although small was adequate and the bed was extremely comfortable. Our room was a long walk to the lobby and therefore I would recomend spending a wee bit more and get a tower room. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Still one of our favourites We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past and would return again. The staff is always great and helpful. We enjoy the outdoor pool area immensely and although it is near a noisy highway, it is still very resort-like. Our room overlooked the pool. The location is very convenient to our visits to the Kitchener Waterloo area. This time, we were attending a wedding in Cambridge and even though most of the wedding guests stayed at a hotel in Cambridge, we still chose this one because of great past experiences. Beds, pillows and furnishings are very comfortable. This time we did notice the décor to be a little tired. Time for a room renovation. It would also be of benefit to put a little more effort into landscaping and maintenance, especially around the pool area and those rooms overlooking the pool. Overgrowth and weeds were everywhere. Overall an excellent stay and we will be back in the future. September 2, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Staff service good When we arrived the greeter gave me a message to make a call. When I got to the room the phone was dead. I went back to the front desk and reported this and when we got back to the room later the phone had been fixed. Good work I was surprised that no drinking water was available in the room. I went to the ice room and got some there only after having to find 8 25c pieces to use. I am not sure if the machine takes dollars but there is no mention of it there In the room my wife had great difficulty getting cold water from the tap in the bathroom. I tried and managed after a lot of effort. The tap needs fixing. The TV remote needs new batteries Lastly the Internet was almost unavailable and kept dropping. To get some service I had to stand in the corridor wher there was a good signal which was not convenient. I do not want this published but I thought you should know. It did not reach the standard of many previous visits August 28, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Outdated and dirty The new part of the hotel looked beautiful (aside from the fact that the pool was not open in August) and I thought we were going to have a really nice room. We were put in the OLD part of the hotel (that looked like a motel) and the room was outdated and dirty. There were cobwebs on the lamps and the fridge was not cleared out. Disappointing for a Holiday Inn and the cost. Maybe the rooms in the new section were nice? I was not asked for my priority club number or aeroplan so be sure to mention it when you check in and I would ask for the new section. August 28, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The only problem.............. The only problems with this hotel is 1) The restaurant menu really needs to change! I've been staying there for about 10 months from Monday to Friday's and I pray now that fall is coming that they will change the menu up. 2) Although it is a very clean hotel they really need to do modern reno's on the rooms! it's really out of date. Besides those two issues I would high recommend people to stay there. I told everyone at work about how great the staff has treated me that it is now hotel of choice for most of my company's crews!!! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasant 3-day stay I had the good fortune of staying in a tower room on the top floor and it was quite nice, very quiet. The coffee ready first thing in the morning for the guests on the floor was a nice touch. Staff were very friendly and helpful when needed. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet as well. Will be travelling to Kitchener/Waterloo area quite often in the future and would stay here again. Upgrades to the indoor pool area appear to be nice, outdoor pool was available for use instead. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by An older hotel next to a noisy main road The hotel is located next to a main road that can be noisy depending on room location, and this applies to the outside swimming pool. It is an older, but updated design with pavement almost next to main floor rooms. (The hotel is similar to a 2 storey motel design, clustered around a multi-floor central building). Check-in was indifferent, with no recognition of IHG Reward Club membership, though my reservation was ready on arrival. The smallish room was neat and clean, a room staff was cheerful and helpful when asked for plastic bags. We did not stay for breakfast due to the cost of the buffet. August 22, 2013

When I arrive the room was not to the standards of other hotels and there was no desk... Had I had time I would have changed hotels but I was too busy. My loss their gain. August 13, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent handicapped room The king-size bed in the handicapped room was perfect height for someone in wheelchair with minimal mobility. My husband had no difficulty getting into the bed. The roll-in shower, and drive under sink was a bonus as was the size of the bathroom for a wheelchair to get around. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Would highly recommend this hotel. August 10, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay! Had a tower room for my wife (just for the day) as I had to attend a meeting at the hotel. She loved the room and the General Manager had even sent up a special treat upon her arrival (we are priority club members). She was able to relax and use the facilities while I was at my meeting and overall had a very impressive stay. We ate in the dining room and loved the look of their menu and thoroughly enjoyed the thai shrimp. We will find time in the future to do an over-night based on our very short visit this time around and congratulate the staff on doing such a great job for their guests! July 30, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Outdoor Pool bonus Outdoor pool is very nice and the hotel is very accommodating. It was nice to have the option to use either the indoor or outdoor pool. Rooms were clean and the hotel was quiet. The hotel is close to restaurants and major roadways. I travel in the US with sports teams on a regular basis and am always disappointed when travelling in Ontario when a continental breakfast is not included. We called down to the front desk at night to ask if there was a continental breakfast and was told yes. They however failed to advise their was an additional cost. July 22, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a great expirence Paper thin walls. Noisy hallways, staff did little to curtail noise. Breakfast that was included was horrible. Food constantly ran out, wait staff were lazy and disrespectful. Had one line for food, t hen another line started at the other door. People had been waiting over 30 minutes to get food but the hotel staff response was "oh well". People even jumped the lines walked in took some food and walked out. No organization. My son enjoyed the pool. But overall a poor expirence. July 6, 2013

The staff arranged a delicious team dinner for us at a moment's notice and at a very reasonable cost. The rooms were bright and clean. The restaurant food was great. The service and courtesy provided to us by Eva, Matt, Robin and Hassen was second to none. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. June 11, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Super Staff I stayed a couple of days there last week .. In general the hotel was OK .. Room was a decent size and like most HI properties because they are well used the decor was a bit tired and my room could have done with a new lick of paint. Bathroom was very tired. Had dinner in the bar and breakfast in the Italian restaurant and the staff were excellent. Fast courteous service even if I did forget (being English) to leave a tip at Bfast on the first day. When checking out I had a problem with my rental car as it was completely dead...Denford on the front desk was tremendous ... He offered me use of the reception phone which tied it up for long periods whilst waiting for Hertz to get things sorted and then ordered me a taxi to get to the office. Directed the AAA guy to me when he arrived and arranged to keep the key safe when we couldn't start the car and it had to be towed. When I later realised that I had left my SatNav charger in the dead rental car I called the hotel and they retrieved it and hed it for me at reception until I could get back to collect it later that day. Hotel itself was OK .. Staff were super ... Will stay again June 9, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed I stay at the Holiday Inn chain a lot as I travel often. I was very dissapointed with my stat in Kitchener which I have stayed at many times before. I didn't notice it at first, Unfortunately I noticed it when it was too late. My bedding had a reddish/brown stain on it I was quite disgusted when I saw that but it was too late because I had already slept in the bed on the other side. Yuck!!!!! April 10, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by cold room Stayed at the hotel in March 2013. Room was ice cold when we walked in at 7 pm. We turned the heat on. We left for our game. Got back to the room at 11:15 pm. The room had not warmed up any yet. Heater never blew hot air (only barely warm). The wing we stayed in, was booked full because we were there for a tournament. We were not the only ones that had heat problems in their room. The hotel should have had the heat turned on and the rooms up to at least up to 60 degrees before we arrived. March 31, 2013
