Great service, breakfast and room. Bathrooms need refurbishment though. They should also tie up with the multi storey car park operators opposite for subsidised parking rates. its expensive and there are not other long term parking available around the hotel.

Love this hotel! The staff are incredibly friendly and have always recognized my Spire Elite status. The location is perfect- a short few blocks from Southern Cross Station and right around the corner from the trams. Had the pleasure of being upgraded to a 1BR suite on my last two visits and love the extra space and comfort. The wifi is good which is a nice since it's awful at some hotels. Would highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is just average and is on the higher end of the price scale. Also there is nothing around the hotel to eat or do. Also breakfast is not included with your room rate. This hotel is also in need of a serious referbishment.

I would like to start by thanking team at Holiday Inn Melbourne on Flinders for their tremendous efforts in making our stay an enjoyable and a memorable one. My family and I went to Melbourne for a short weekend getaway and to experience one the of the many award winning restaurants found around Melbourne’s CBD.
We arrived early that day and were promptly checked-in without any issues. The receptionist assisted with everything from checking us in through to valet parking our car and helping us with our bags. To our surprise, we were given a newly refurbished room - which my wife and 4 year old son loved so much that they did not want to leave the room at all.
After heading out to dinner that night, we arrived late back at the hotel. We were unsure if our plans to travel up to Sydney the following day were going to go ahead. Spoke to the overnight team at reception about the possibility of extending and sure enough, everything was organised without any fuss.
The following day, our plans were confirmed and we checked out as normal. The flexibility of the hotel allowed us to cancel the extension with no issues at all. Again this receptionist not only checked us out but also assisted us with our bags and had our car ready (We later found out it the receptionist was actually the Front Office Manager – Great to see him leading by example!)
Shortly after leaving Melbourne we realised we had left something in the hotel room. We called the hotel, which then helped locate the items and had it ready for a family member to collect that afternoon. After arriving in Sydney that night, we realised we were also missing further items. Again I called the hotel. The staff member was unable to locate it at first, but assured us that they will follow up and give me a call back the following day. The next day I received a call and everything was placed in an express post box and expressed up to Sydney.
Surely there must be some faults with the hotel, right? - Yes there is... the TV reception is terrible. Other than that, the service from the staff outshines everything else. Having stayed in many hotels around the world I found the service at Holiday Inn Melbourne on Flinders to be one of the best I have seen (and to think it is only a Holiday Inn right?!). Well done to your team and you have certainly earned my appreciation.
