Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gene100 Best room ever
I do a great deal of traveling and spending nights in hotels (over 100 per year), and this was the best all around room I have ever stayed in. Fortunately I was bumped up to a suite, and this happens often, but it was still the best all around room.
From size of the overall room, to the large bathroom and shower, to the bed, blankets, pillows.
I definitely recommend this hotel.

Our first and last time staying here. Service was ok, but finding the room was a pain. As we entered we noticed that the door was unclean and on our mini fridge there was a lot of dust and no cups in the room to drink in. The layout of the bathroom wasn't what we liked, going to the bathroom then opening the door before we washed our hands not too good!!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by BigSea22 Poor Overall
This hotel is requiring an enormous renovation and new management. I stay often and more than half of the time I need to switch rooms because something is broken (usually the lock, which is disconcerting). Noise is a huge problem. My last stay there I was in an interior room next to a sort of "cobblestone" hallway - someone pushed their cleaning cart along it at 2:30 AM! They push the newspapers under the door very early in the morning, and it is very noisy - not sure why, I have stayed at other hotels where I have never been woken up by this, but it happens everytime at this hotel. In general, the rooms are not soundproof.
Rooms often smell like smoke, the heating/air conditioning is extremely poor, the TV remotes take at least 2 button presses before changing channels, there is no consistency in ammenities (provision of waterbottles, mini fridges microwaves is sporadic), there is no conditioner provided (they provide that in hotels in THAILAND), room service doesn't have a portable debit machine (2013), food quality is poor. The only part of the hotel I like is the front desk staff who are very helpful and remember you.
New management is highly recommended.

A hotel is a hotel... you have different levels of comfort and amenities but what is really hard is to find the right people. They have found the RIGHT people. From the front desk with Terry and Jenny; room service with Rafik; the myriad of servers in the restaurant - sorry if I don't remember everyeone here; Chef, Yannick, Gerry, Catherine, Heather, Lee, I could go on. I even tried the Crowne Plaza next door for a more luxurious stay but the staff were severely lacking... so I immediately came back to my family away from home. Thank you all for making my stays homey. You are all greatly appreciated.

We decided to drive to Montreal to go to the St. Joseph Oratory. After driving for 8-1/2 hours we arrived at the Hotel. Later that evening (10p.m. or so) being tired decided to go to bed....I pulled back the sheets to discover HAIRS in the bed...can you believe the disgust we felt! Call front desk and explained the situation (so gross) - the staff arrived to change bedding 20 minutes later. Still felt creepy asking ourselves is this room "really" clean!
Reported our situation to front desk staff the next morning - who said they needed to speak to their manager. Later the second day afternoon we decided it would be nice to have a glass of wine - at the bar my husband was asked if we had "a priority club drink voucher"??? Well we do have a priority club membership BUT never was a voucher mentioned/given to us upon check-in.
So we paid full price for the bottle of wine - yes, I'm beginning to feel that we were fools to stay there.
Under our door the second morning was a certificate for a "free" buffet breakfast...which we did enjoy because the buffet was good and the breakfast staff were very hospitable.
Would we stay there again - NEVER.

The room was clean, which is good. Here were the odd little things that I didn't like.
There was a hallway on the way to my room, keypass was needed. It was older and didn't work all the time (although my key always worked). It was just a nuisance, though, since I could walk the long way around, which didn't need key access.
Ice machine near room was not working - no sign to indicate this.
In room coffee machine. There was only one package of "sweetener/etc" instead of two like every other hotel I've ever been at. Also, no tea, like every other hotel I've ever been at!

we were at your hotel for 1 night ( 4 persons ) every thing was o.k. reception, personnel, restaurant,. servers, room etc the driver on the mini bus was helpful and kind BUT the step to get in the bus is very too high for persons who are unable to jump in that bus. persons of 60 or 70 can't get in the bus. or persons who are shorter or overweight. It could be so simple to have a little bench to make the first step. Those benches are not expensives, $2.00 at the dollar stores. it is small and not heavy and don't take too much room. each bus should have one in case of need. hope the next time you will have it. Thank you

I choose this Hotel because usually i get good servicethe Holiday Inn . First thing is the shuttle bus , i had to call the hotel to find out where to meet the shuttle at the Airport . It's not on the website . Second issue , the driver almost did not help me to load my luggage and unload . Got to my room around midninght . Nothing around the hotel close by to get some food .Restaurant or bar was close already . At 03:00 am for an hour so it wake me up . Lots of noise in the hallway so i had to call security .
Terrible experience overall

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by swc000 Horrible pull out sofas and staff that could care less
I booked on-line for a family of 5. Upon arriving I learned the room was a Queen sofa pull-out and a king size bed. The king bed was fine, the room was clean and looked nice, the courtyard was great for the kids.
The issue was with the pull-out sofa and staff response. The mattress was really, really, really bad. The kids would have rather slept on a matt or carpet but the room had a bare floor. It's not that i expected comfort, but it was only marginally better than the floor.
At checkout I mentioned how unhappy I was. I was polite and I expected an apology, some compensation or even some sympathy - nothing. Absolutely no recognition. I emailed Holiday Inn who said they were sorry we weren't happy and would advise the hotel manager.
I was really surprised Holiday Inn wasn't able to take any steps to retain a customer. Quite disappointing.

Overall experience was good.
Issue with my room allocation when I arrived......someone had been smoking in a non smoking room.....entered an unlocked/unsecured room.
Called front desk and they responded and resolved the issue immediately with a new room allocation.
Amenities and services were great. Restaurant food and staff were terrific. Nice atmosphere and service at the bar!
Look forward to my next stay!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Shannie Amazing room with issues
We booked a two night stay in the "honeymoon suite" to take advantage of the amenities it has to offer. First night had no TP at or towels for the jacuzzi tub which took an hour to fill up and a light burnt out. Informed the front desk the next day in writing of problems and they said they would have it fixed during the day.
THat night when we returned nothng was done and the room was not even cleaned. We complained when we checked out to the manager on duty who was also the one we gave the list of problems to. He was very apologetic and gave us a reduced rate which was very much appreciated. Still disappointing for the overall experience !

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pipo Clean and comfortable, service could improve.
We arrived at 1:00 a.m., tired from a long flight. Desk clerk not too friendly and definitely not helpful. Had trouble finding our room. Breakfast included in our price but coupon had not been remitted by desk clerk. Quickly resolved by different desk clerk in the morning, who was far friendlier and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Good price for room, parking for 8 days and breakfast (max. 20$ for 2, buffet is 28$ for 2, you pay the difference).

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Kowalski Unfortunate Experience.
Arrived late (very) at the hotel and was not pleased with the check in experience, staff was not prepared. No express check-out at this propoerty so a check out visit to the desk elicited the same impression from the morning staff.
Then to find that my vehicle had been broken into. I understand that Montreal is a known city for car theft/vandalism but I think the property could make a better effort to maintain the parking area lighting, perhaps some type of securtiy.
All in all, any unfortunate experience. I will avoid this property in the future.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hoss55 Waiter ruined a great hotel
I enjoyed everything in this hotel, until the waiter refused to even acknowledge my presence at the restaurant.
The waiter would not even make eye contact with me.
I told the people at the front desk about this and their response was to tell me what a good guy he is...
I won't be going back, as there are not any other places to eat near this hotel.
The rest of the staff at this hotel were wonderful, and it is a shame that this one employee is what I will remember from my visit to Montreal....

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Listeningskillswanted Checking In: a lost reservation
We made hotel reservations for both the beginning & return of our overseas vacation. Confirmation numbers were received.
On our return - after many hours of travel - we checked in to be told the reservation "could not be found." I produced my confirmation notice & then we were told the type of room requested was not available. An alternative was suggested.
We visited FIVE different rooms before we were given the accommodation requested in our reservation. The heating system was broken in 2 of the rooms, there were single beds in the others or 1 room was huge. Finally, after 1 and 1/2 hours we were in a room like to the one 1st requested.
There were 2 basic problems: A) the initial reservation "got lost" & B) the front desk staff failed to understand that what we wanted was a room just like the one 1st requested. "Upgrades", changes etc. were not wanted.
Guests should not be subjected to such an incredibly long checking-in experience. This rates "F" for failure.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lukesou Nice but beware of shuttle service
The hotel was nice and not far from the Airport as adverstized. One of the main reasons we took this room was because of the shuttle service. Unfortunately when we got there and asked for Shuttle we were told it was fully booked. After trying to make the person at the desk understand that this was unacceptable, we were told that this is a free service offerred to all guest and that the hotel was not prepared to pay for taxi. It cost about $25,00 taxi to get to the airport. Coming back we waited about 40 monutes for the shuttle. When it arrived it was like seagulls after a bag of fries in a parking lot. Aside from that Hotel was good. Might consider just driving in morning and parking at hotel next time

Everything was very good. Dining room staff and lounge were excellent. I normally stay 2 or more weeks at a time on business. When I do laundry and put my shirts on a hanger after removing from dryer there is no place to hang them. A hook on the wall would be nice.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by True5 Little things made for poor experience.
We made a reservation online with the specific request to have a room that slept 5. We have 3 children and were very clear on that fact. We booked and paid for a room that stated it slept 5. When we arrived we were giving a room that had one bed and a pull out sofa. When I talked to the front desk I was told that I would have to pay an additional $20 + tax for a roll away cot. This was never indicated in any of the confirmation emails! I obviously needed a place for one child to sleep so was forced to pay the extra. Later we discovered that the pull out sofa didn't have bedding, so I had to chase for that. In the morning my husband wanted to make coffee, but there was no pot in the coffee maker! Sometimes its the little things that ruin what should be a fun and relaxing stay. For the amount of money that is charged for a one night stay....it would have been nice not worry about chasing for bedding and a cup of coffee!
If it wasn't for the wonderful staff in the restaurant I would have been a very upset customer. The waiters asked if we had coupons for the kids food, (the front desk neglected to give those!), they ran to the front and made sure that we got them. A special Thanks for Mario for singing our little guy Happy Birthday!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Buddy1 Worst Holiday Inn experience that I have had in many years
The lobby was unkempt, the hallways were dingy with the walls and doors torn up and dented, and they smelled. The exercise room wasn't clean, and the equipment in poor shape. The room wasn't very clean, though the bedding was. I was afraid to walk barefoot and had to clean the telephone before using it.
I arrived at 10:30 PM, was advised at front desk that I could have dinner untill 11PM. If the very kind bartender, Roger, had not made a special effort for me, having told me that the kitchen closed at 10PM, I would not have been able to have dinner.
