Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jill17 convenient, very comfortable, helpful staff
we stayed for 3 nights and would recommend this hotel to anyone; the staff were pleasant and helpful from the start, the room was spotless, spacious and comfortable, and its location is such that all the major sights can be reached directly from the metro station opposite in minutes. Super.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MartinMUK Another great stay
As usual the team at Holiday Inn Sokolniki made me feel relaxed and welcome.
I haven't had a bad stay here yet - rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. The breakfasts are ok, and the food in the bar/grill is great; the Club Sandwich still needs some love though ;)
Good location for access to the city centre, and has plenty available nearby for food, shops, and fresh air.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by YossiDA Fitness Club
I am visiting Moscow at least once a month and in most of the cases stys in the Holiday Inn Sokolniki.
Unfortunately I would like to express the displeasure that I faced in the inability to train in the hotel fitness club. I tried to reach the club at 20:00 after a day of work and I was introduced by a paper indicating that the maximum quantity (of hotel gusts) to enter the club is 7. First, I was shocked. No notes or any other publication stating that there is a limitation to hotel members, on the contrary the “Orange Health & Fitness club” ad on the TV states very clear “…. All guests have free use of the gym. Executive level guests have ….”, so!!! The important information that there is a maximum number of guests that can enter the club is missing.
It is so disappointing.
This kind of behavior is alien to me. I felt like a class Z guest (although I am treated as a class A guest in other areas or by other staff of the hotel). Staying in front of the club front desk and seeing all the other people (probably members of the club) entering w/o any restriction is humiliating. In addition, not being able to communicate with the club lady (not knowing English well and everybody is looking on you, like what are you doing here!!! Is not an experience that I would recommend.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MartinMUK Just blew the Hilton away
I decided to stay at the HI Sokolniki partly to get my points ;) and partly because I wanted to see what I could get for the same rate as our corporate rate does at the Hilton.
Much better value for money, much better service.
Upon arrival at the desk I was welcomed and greeted as an IHG rewards member. I was upgraded to a suite, which as a Plat member is always nice, but even the room I had booked would have been bigger than the Hilton's for the money!
The bar is spacious and comfortable, and the staff there spoke very good English - especially compared to my basic broken Russian. The quality of the food at the bar menu is good - although the club sandwich could use some love.
I used the main restaurant most days for breakfast - rather than the executive level option - as the food was just as good, and when you are mostly staying on business just getting a good breakfast is more important than the ambience.
Overall this hotel is clean, friendly and great for local amenities. I could list the ease of access to the city centre, the nearby park, the amount of places to go for a coffee or a meal nearby... but rather I would just say that this is a great hotel for any visit to Moscow!
I'll be staying here again. (already have 2 more stays booked!)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Meophamtravellers Friendly and helpful staff
we had a great time in Moscow, all staff at the hotel where very friendly and helpful, especially reception staff, Sofia and Ivan, rooms were very comfortable and clean, restaurants were lovely, plenty of food choices, especially breakfast, the location of the hotel was also great, just across the road from the metro, 6 stops and you are in red square, kremlin, in fact all major tourist sites. Try and give yourself half a day going on metro as some of the stations have fantastic architecture and paintings, beats the circle line in London. We would definetly go back to the holiday inn, where every member of staff from cleaners to waiting staff where happy to exchange hello's and good morning.
No negatives at all for hotel, staff, location. We are world travelers, travelling extensively so have stayed in many many hotels.
P.S taxi to hotel cost £50.00 - We took the Aeroexpress train back to airport much more fun - have a lovely trip to Moscow

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Estskipper Comfortable bed and great service
I was on a business trip and the agency booked the hotel for me.It was a pleasant surprise. Though not central, the subway is right in front of the hotel and whisks you in no time to the historical center. The hotel serves late meals and drinks in their bar area. The rooms are clean and silent and you can regulate temperature freely. The bed is very comfortable. There are few amenities in the room but staff will send what is needed on request. The breakfast is great; I enjoyed the various International corners. Some inconveniences: the electrical sockets in the room are inadequately located; the minibar automatically charges when you touch anything (staff will however annull the charges).
I recommend the hotel for a comfortable stay in Moscow.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ugivm Nice rooms, poor service
The hotel itself is nice, but don't expect much service. You have to hunt down waiter at the restaurants if you want to get anything. Your order will be messed up and they will forget some items on your order. It applies to all restaurants in the hotel.
Do not order cab from the hotel lobby. They quoted me 3900 rub. to go to the airport. It was only 1100 rub (1500 if I wanted a luxury car) when I called the cab company directly.
