Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing Room Our room was amazing. It was clean, comfortable and huge. We had a living room with a couch, 2 sofa chairs and coffee table with a TV. Then their was a king size bed with 2 night stands and another TV. The bathroom was huge the shower could have fit 10 people in it and had a shower head on one side and the shower jets on the other side. The breakfast buffet gave you a selection of hot & cold foods. We paid a very reasonable rate for the room and we were very happy with our choice!I We will definitely stay there again. December 9, 2013

On arrival we were greeted by Daisy the Front Office Manager, who was very pleasant and made us feel really welcome and to our delight she also upgraded us! Daisy is a great ambassador for the Holiday Inn Group and has definitely influenced our future decision making when it comes to booking hotels in the USA. December 4, 2013

Our son goes to St. Thomas and every time we visit, we get the same consistent service, Always very friendly, courteous and accommodating. Housekeeping is always very friendly and accommodating. We travel from Ohio and don't get in until late and we always have great service. I give this Holiday Inn a 10. We wanted to have a Thanksgiving dinner with our son because he couldn't come home and Jenna at the front desk was so accommodating. She looked up every restaurant and menu within the area and made our decision easier and less work for us to call around. She is very friendly. Can't wait to come back and visit. November 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Staff Professionalism My overnight stay with my 90 year old mother was stress free due to the friendly and helpful staff - Andrea greeted us @ the front desk and made my mother comfortable in the lobby while I took care of the paperwork and luggage - Jorge wrote a note for my car so I could park in the handicap parking space since in my haste I had left my sign at home .With the bitter cold weather and the severe wind this was a very special. I was given a room close to the lounge so my mother did not have to walk too much to go to dinner - We were given excellent attention at the lounge and our dessert was wrapped up to take to our room. Brett -our server -was very nice and made good recommendations - The last pleasant experience was when we had left and my mother who suffers from the beginnings of alzeimers told me she did not have her watch - I returned and Jorge accompanied me to the room to check it out and as we were leaving the housekeeper came in and gave us not only my mothers watch but her three old bracelets she has worn for over 50 years which she had under the pillows for safekeeping - I want to commend all of them and thank them for making me feel save and taken care of during my overnight stay- November 27, 2013

I must say Jenna at the Front Desk was amazing... with all our comings & goings there was always a smile & greeting ... & always checked on us to see if we needed anything ?? we just wanted her to be there when ever we went by... she also went above & beyond by when our things didn't come back from the cleaners, SHE went & got them !!!! who does that today??? Mahalo Jenna!!! I must also say the other employees all had big smiles & greetings each time we were there & that means a lot to me. You felt like you mattered...we were there for a week & this never ended. thank you..thank you all!!!!!!!!!!! November 21, 2013

We checked in late at night, but were greeted so warmly and treated like friends by the middle aged gentleman at the front desk. Our room was spacious and comfortable and all staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Everything was super clean and very well mantained. I didnt know what to expect from a Holiday Inn in upstate NY, but my boyfriend and I were pleased with the experience. Would definitely stay again if the situation arose! My only wish- that there was hot coco packets with the tea/coffee bar in the lounge/tv area!! November 20, 2013

I must say, I was delighted by the interaction I had with both of the front desk personnel, Andrea and Jorge. As I got in late and missed dinner, I came down for a candy bar but was a quarter short. Andrea took care of me anyway. Further, when complications with my itinerary arose the next day, Jorge was gracious, accommodating, accountable--all that and a sense of humor, too! Both Andrea and Jorge embodied the word "hospitality". PS--I left my very expensive SonicCare toothbrush there. Can you send it back to me?? November 18, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Would not reccomend if you want to actually SLEEP We were first assigned a room which looked like it had been occupied. Carpets dirty with lint and crumbs, and the pillows on one bed, looked as if someone hd propped them up for reading, and thrown the "firm" sash on the night stand. However, we were tired, and just wanted to find some food and then sleep...and we were only staying one night, so figured it was fine! We chose to believe that housekeeping had just forgotten to put the sash on the pillow. Upon our return to the room after eating dinner we were greeted by the toilet flushing. Odd since no one had used it... but again, we shrugged and figured it was a one time thing. Unfortunately not so, the toilet continued to flush every 2 minutes... on its own. So we called the front desk. Long story short, after a failed attempt at repair, we were moved to a new room. Much cleaner... but the toilet in this room also randomly flushed all night long. Be warned, there is also a train that runs through the hotel hallways, (well it felt that close) all night long. Plumbing issues were a theme here, as the tub in our room took about 30 minutes to drain after it filled up on its own while showering. It appears as if there are people permanently living in this hotel, and that maintenance has been put on a back burner. All of the rooms say Non Smoking, yet there is a prominent cigarette smoke odor in the hall ways. All in all, this was the most disappointing stay at a Holiday Inn that I have encountered. I will not be staying at this Hotel when I return for the same conference next year. November 17, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by The door I stayed here for a wedding. When we were ready to go to the wedding we went to close the door and we noticed that the door did not lock. So we went down to the front desk and told the staff, they called the handyman. The handyman did not know what he was doing and he was banging on the metal part where it locks to fix it.I though this was very unprofessional and we told the front desk staff and they didn't do anything about it. We also had to be at the wedding reception and we almost missed the ceremony because the handyman did not know what he was doing. Overall i think this situation could of been handled better i was not pleased with my stay. The door should of locked thankfully we check the door before we left. November 14, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by The Truth When I had arrived at the hotel the initial appearance was very good. All the decor was wonderful. The lady at the front desk was very nice. It was not until I reached my room and i saw that the room had not been completely cleaned. There urine stains on the rim of the toilet seat. The shower had a private area hair in it and the shower curtain was not adequate nor washed either as it was blackened on the Bottom of the curtain. And the floors in the hallway we're very dirty. None of the housekeepers like to move out of your way or move the cart when walking by. Additional they dont know any English. On the other hand, the food was good. I wish we were closer to the wedding party. The bartender was awesome. The maintenance was fast to come to our room for an air conditioning problems. One main issue is that the housekeeping should not clean your room out completely before it is even time to check out of the hotel. They were there at 10 and the checkout is 11 a.m.. And of course again, she told me she speaks no English. November 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Orangeburg Very relaxing place. Found it odd that they did not offer breakfast with your stay and the lounge was closed for lunch all together. I wa staying there for a wedding and they got the morning breakfast orders wrong and were not prepared (did not have what they offered on the menu.) Also we were supposed to get discounts on our rooms for a wedding block but turns out we didn't. However with this beig said I would still stay at a holiday inn again. November 13, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Some rooms not up to IHG standards We had 2 rooms in 1 night and both weren't good. Upon arriving we asked if a suite was available and were told at the desk that we were in a suite. That sounded like a good start. However, the room wasn't a suite, just a normal room. I would have expected the front desk to know which rooms are suites. When we got to the room and went to use the shower we found a large amount of hair in the shower. We called the desk about this and they said they'd move us to another room. We moved to the other room which had very stained carpets - like you'd see in a very low-quality motel, not a Holiday Inn. Tired after a long day of work, we opted not to complain about the room's appearance as we wanted to sleep. Unfortunately we found that there was frequent loud banging of heating or water pipes in the wall. The noise lasted all night long and made it hard to get good sleep. The breakfast wasn't very appealing. We expected better from this location and from Holiday Inn. November 12, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Stay We stayed here as we had a nearby wedding. It was very convenient to the highway and was easy to get to. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom shower was great. There was internet and cable tv and the room was very spacious. The bar was well stocked and we had a good time. We also stayed for a buffet breakfast and the variety was good and the food was hot and good. Would stay here again and recommend to others. November 6, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by What Happened? I have stayed at this location frequently (1-5 times per month) since it was renovated a few years ago. Seems like every visit it gets a little worse. My Platinum status is not recognized any longer. I specifically ask for 2nd floor, I get first floor. I have not seen a goody bag in months (it wasn't much, but it was nice), I used to get upgraded every time, now nothing. I asked for an hour early check in on this date because I was arriving into town extra early, said they could not accommodate me. The place is really slipping. I do love the breakfasts but have stopped eating the dinners, the salads don't seem fresh any more and the portions are not worth the price. I will continue to stay here, but would like to see some improvement in service. Really, what is the point in being loyal to IHG with Platinum status if there is no recognition? October 23, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable enough but bad customer service. We stayed here on a planned visit to Sleepy Hollow. We were happy enough with our room and all was fine there. What put us off immediately was the front desk staff. We were greeted in a less than friendly manner, unusual for Holiday Inns. After our first experience with the front counter staff while checking in, we were never, ever greeted or even spoken to by the anyone at the front desk during the rest of our stay. May not be a big deal to some guests, but we are used to a friendly front desk staff that smiles and speaks to us as we walk through. So much so that I guess we have grown to expect it from the staff at Holiday Inn. It was just something we really noticed. October 23, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Unaccommodating I have to say - this was not a pleasant stay. I phoned ahead the day before and told the person answering the phone that I had a wedding to attend at 4:00. With a 3:00 check in time, that left me scant time to get ready. The gentleman couldn't do anything for me. He said they were fully booked the night before. With a checkout time at 11:00, I couldn't understand why they couldn't figure out a way to accommodate an early check in. The bride and groom arranged for about 20 rooms to be booked. The next day we arrived at 1:30 from a far distance, not expecting an early check in. The hotel was completely empty. The desk people still made no effort to get us in earlier than 3:00. They just watched us in the lobby for over 90 minutes. I know they were full the night before, but with an 11:00 checkout, were there no rooms clean by 2:00? To add insult to injury, our rooms were not ready by 3:00. At 3:15 we were given keys to rooms after asserting ourselves. We were not given the rooms we reserved and took lesser accommodations just so we could get changed and ready for the 4:00 wedding. A really, really inept staff. What a disappointment. Unable to check in early, but room was still NOT READY by 3 pm and staff on duty at the tjme could care less. Unacceptable especially since rooms were reserved ahead of time. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bathroom dirty, used towels, soap, sheets. We had 3 rooms. Room 171 was not properly made up. When I entered the bathroom, there were used towels on the rack, floor, tub and over the shower. The soap on the sink was used. The bedsheets had not been changed from the previous party. No one on duty from housekeeping...had to change my own sheets, etc. Overall terrible experience. October 16, 2013
