We had an overnight layover on the final leg of our trip back to the United States and selected this Holiday Inn.
It was an excellent choice.
Their free shuttle service took us directly from the airport to the hotel......and the following morning the shuttle returned us to the airport. The complimentary coffee/tea & rolls in the lobby in the morning is a nice touch :)
The room was nice, quite, very clean and well appointed..
We would recommend the Holiday Inn-Ratingen to any traveler that has to spend a night or more in Dusseldorf Germany.

Very good shutle to/from airport Düsseldorf.
Big rooms with enough space for the luagage
Clean, comfortable rooms!
Nice Pub, where you can eat and drink, nice bartender.
Very good breakfast with nice waiters
Big parking lot
Good conections to the Autobahn, when we travel in Germany with a rent car.
Normaly we only live in Intercontis( platin Ambassador) but Düsseldorf is the exeption- there Holiday Inn Ratingen

Grundsätzlich war alles in Ordnung, leider gibt es keinen Lift für die 2. Etage, bei 2 schweren Koffern nicht gerade angenehm.
Das Early Bird Frühstück, im Preis enthalten, ist ein Witz.

Ich hatte dieses Hotel gebucht um während einer Reise mein Auto dort abzustellen. Soweit OK, leider gibt es keine überdachten Parkplätze, nach Rückkehr war das Auto eingeschneit.
Ich hatte ein Zimmer mit 2 Betten gebucht, das war nicht verfügbar und so haben wir sehr schlecht geschlafen.
Shuttle zum Flughafen war OK.
Das Essen im Restaurant war ausgezeichnet.

We arrived in Ratingen at the last leg of our vacation. Front desk staff were helpful and attentive. Our room was very large and comfortable. The food was great.

Stayed at the Holiday Inn in May 2013. Made a few changes to my reservation and it was all handled perfectly. Rooms are comfortable and the price is good.
The staff is very flexibel and helpfull

Was met at the desk by a friendly staff who had all of my documents ready. Answered all of my questions before I asked. Room decor is outdated, but clean and comfortable. For the price, the rooms are fine. Thought the food in the restaurant was not a good bang for the buck although flavorful.

This Hotel is one of the best Holiday Inns i have ever stayed at . Comfortable rooms are big great place to eat at the Bar , which i must say it lets itself down with the menu (not much on it unless you like a burger). The only other let down is the price of the Breakfast 37 euro for 2 people i found just too much .I think thats why not many people where having breakfast there !!!!!.
Overhaul the Hotel is clean and tody excpet for the 2 items above this is by far the best Holiday i have stayed in .

We have used this hotel as a conferencing venue a few times in the last year. The support and dedication of the staff to ensure the stay is seamless and that the people that you have there are happy is a pleasure to see. I would opening recommend this venue.

For my profession I spent at least 80 nights per year in a hotel. Holiday inn Ratingen left a bad impression. Reception staff on Monday March 11 at 16.00 was unfriendly and a bad publicity for your chain, the girl was very unprofessional. Food ( restaurant was open but served the pub food only) was very poor , fries too salty and ribs sold out.
No more stays here.

I was transiting Dusseldorf aiport for a night.
The website claimed both pick up and drop service.
However on mail and chat no intimation on pick up location was informed.
It costed me 30 minutes of looking around the arrival area for a board or help on the same, but it was futile.
It costed me Euro 16 to take a taxi to the hotel.
The funny part of the pick up & drop service did not end here.
Only person who booked in advance were given slots for drop.
Only one 8 seater was provided for a full hotel with more than 300 rooms.
I suggest that when the booking is made in advance and flight schedule known;
it can be possible to
1. Give correct timetable for pickup & location of van
2. Give choice for booking departure van when the flight information is known.
Had i known that my stay is going to cost 30 euro more my choice of hotel would have been different.

Parking was completely full of snow. I had to walk about 100 m on the snow with my heavy lugage. There were some other entrances to the hotel apart from the main entrance, but they were closed. If they were open, I could have used them and avoid walking on the snow with my heavy suitcase.
I found quite disappointing that the breakfast was not included in my rate. When I booked the hotel in the internet it was not mentioned. Otherwise I would have gone for the breakfast but it was not clear in the website.
I think it is unbelieveble that you have to pay for your wifi conexion. This service is not costing almost nothing to the hotel, but you charge 10 or 15 € for your conexion.
All of these points made my stay not very confortable.

At the Restaurant I ordered a "Chef Salad" it should come with cheese, Ham, egg and Tomatos, on th ePlate I found 4 stripes cheese and Ham, no egg no tomato for 12 Euro.

Close to Dusseldorf airport, Holiday Inn Ratingen removes the stress of early flights. Very friendly reception, good food and a nice small bar and secure parking allowed us to relax the evening before an early morning flight.

Was mir gefallen hat:
Mitarbeiter (Empfang) bei Anreise abends 13.01. Freundlich und Hilfsbereit.
Was hat mir nicht gefallen:
Mitarbeiterin (14.01. morgens) sehr unfreundlich und inkompetent und von Hilfsbereitschaft keine Spur.
Ich wollte abends ein Rumpsteak essen (well done). Gebracht wurde rare-medium. Habe reklamiert. Bekommen habe ich dann das Fleisch rare-medium. Auf Beschwerde keine Reaktion vom Koch.
Bestellt Frühstück auf Zimmer. Kein Frühstück erhalten, da Bestellkarte nicht abgeholt wurde. Nach Reklamation bekam ich das Frühstück, aber die Hälfte von dem was ich bestellt hatte war nicht dabei. Des Weiteren wurde das Essen nicht abgedeckt gebracht (Hygiene?). # Zimmer wurde nicht richtig warm (Heizung auf Maximum).
Dieses Hotel ist nicht zu empfehlen!

This is a nice hotel close to Düsseldorf airport with complimentary shuttle (about 10 minutes) to and from the airport. Rooms are nice and clean and the staff very helpful.
Didn't get an upgrade as Platinum Member, but at least received a complimentary fruit plate and a bottle of water.
Sure gonna stay there a few times again next year.

You'll receive the typical good Holiday Inn service, and quality in this hotel very close to Dusseldorf Airport.
10 minute shuttle to the airport makes it very convenient for an overnight stay, or in case you find yourself stuck overnight (as in my case).
Never tried the food, etc. so cannot share much on that.

The rooms were very cold and not feeling clean, the food was average and the one of the 2 restaurants was smoking and it was smelling so bad. I would never stay in this hotel again, way too expensive for what it offered.

Within 5-10mins drive of airport and had a free shuttle from airport.
Friendly reception staff.
Size of room is reasonable.
Offered complimentary drinks whilst awaiting shuttle in morning.
Trolley to move your own bags about with to your room.
Unless you park in the entrance drop off area, blocking it, they expect you to go into their parking which charges minimum 1 DAY.There is no parking you can use for the short term! Several people were parking on the verge out of the (hostile) Holiday Inn site so it is definetley not only my problem. The only space is for disabled drivers and taxis (why do they get more privilege than paying guests?) So we arrived in a hire car full of our luggage that I had to then take back to the airport (we didn't want to have to carry all our luggage through the airport and then to the shuttle) and this was stress we didn't need.
Decoration and fittings, once past reception, are old, made me think of 1970's and the movie Hot Tub Time Machine. I was surpised to see a Holiday inn bedroom looking so dated.
Although the hotel's rooms seem to be on one floor, it's nececarry to go up some stairs to that one floor and there is no elevator and no assistance or offer of it on check in. So you must cart all your bags up these stairs and at the top there is a trolley, if no one else is using it to wheel your bags down the very long corridors to your room.
Reception didn't know answers to questions, but they did find out answers, we just had to wait. Perhaps we has a newer member of the team.
