Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by The worst hotel customer service and stay I stayed for three nights at this hotel, and even prior to arrival I had a bad vibe about this place. I had called in to make a change to my reservation two weeks before I arrive, and I was literally "yelled at" on the phone with regard to my request. Eventhough I accepted that I was unable to make a change, the rudeness of the hotel personnel set me off. On the day of my arrival, I called for the airport shuttle van upon arrival to the airport. The hotel personnel who answered my call mumbled a few unintelligible words and hung up on me. I called back, and the same person then told me that she had called for the van. I waited for 30 minutes at the shuttle stop in the cold that evening, and with no sign of a van, I called the hotel again. This time, I was put on hold while she tried to call the driver. I was then told that the van will arrive soon. I waited another 15 minutes and the shuttle van finally showed up. The driver apologized for my wait, however, he told me that he was never called in the first place about my arrival. I checked in and stayed the night. The next morning, I was told to pack up and move to another room for the next two nights, as my reservations were made as two separate reservations. I wished that had been explained to me when I checked in. It seems that the front desk staff did not bother to inform me and it was quite inconvenient at the time as I was dressed for an important interview that morning when I was asked to pack and leave the room at an unexpected time. On the second day of my stay, the toilet flooded my bathroom. The front desk called maintenance and this was promptly taken care of. However, they did not clean the bathroom for me, and when I requested for a clean up, I was told that the cleaning lady in charge of my room will be there soon. I waited for several hours, and when she finally came, she replaced the dirty towels and toiletries but did not clean the bathroom floor. The door of the hotel rooms close with a really loud bang, and the noise is loud enough to wake me up from sleep when my neighbor leaves or enters the room. The coffee pot was dirty. On my day of departure, I was hardly awake when I got a knock on the door from "housekeeping" at 9am, when I did not request nor needed one! Overall, I woud rate my stay as "terrible", and even the worst hotel stay I have experienced in my travels. I sincerely think that the hotel management should step up on their customer service front, and employees could be more attentive to their guests and be more courteous on the phone. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. November 10, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Needs a Remodeling Hotel is old and it shows it. Room furniture is very old. Flat screen TV is small 32" Beds have been upgraded and are comfortable. Room service good. I continue to stay here because of the proximity to the airport and shuttle service They will let you leave your car for no charge during your trip. November 1, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Would not recommend Cons: I arrived on a Saturday night (Oct. 11) around midnight and there were crowds of people drinking in the hallways and children running noisily about unattended. The screws holding the security lock on my room door were pulled out of the wood, making it useless which is concerning for a female traveler. My room was clean but the hallways and common areas were very dirty. I dined for breakfast at the restaurant downstairs and was disappointed to find that there was an itemized menu (ie, not a single price buffet), but I was then expected to serve myself from a buffet. I also ordered room service breakfast (toast, tea, and a banana) on the morning of the 13th and was told when it arrived that there were no bananas. All together this resulted in a pretty disappointing stay. Pros: Prompt shuttle service. October 18, 2014

So I was kind of a prisoner of their dining facility and while the staff were very, very nice what came out of the kitchen was very ordinary. But in every other way I give this hotel top marks. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by outstanding service ad convenient location Have been staying at this particular Holiday Inn for 8 years. Over the years there have been the customary personnel changes, but the service has always remained exceptional. This location is convenient for my various customer business meetings which span from the east side to the west side of Rochester. I always enjoy returning to back the hotel at the end of my day, where I am greeted like an "old" friend as I reenter the lobby and head back to my room. I have been traveling on business for more than 40 years now - I would be hard pressed to find a hotel that has better service and is more accommodating that the Rochester Airport Holiday Inn. Room 329 The front staff was absolutely great throughout my stay (business center computer issues) and at check-in. **BUT- I must make it clear that my room (329) had disgusting crumbs and hair all on the floor near the heating unit and window. (Hotel Staff- please check this out... I'm sure the crumbs and hair are still there. Attention to detail is a must and cleanness should be re-check in areas like these by the Cleaning managerial staff. Although my stay was good, this was the first as a Platinum member to see a room with such a lack of cleanliness of the floor/carpet. Seeing this late at night after settling in- made me too tired to move my room at 11PM while leaving the next morning at 4AM as I'm sure this great staff would have done so, if they could have. I've decided to write this review as I hope this will enhance this concern for a better customer experience. October 4, 2014

The hotel had been refreshed and re-decorated within the last 2 years of our stay. Everything was up to date, fresh, coordinated and up to current 'electronic' standards. I did not use my computer in my room as there was no desk or plug on a desk lamp to power the unit conveniently. When I tried to use the easiest accessible electrical outlet..... the iron plug, lamp plug and computer plug all kept falling out. The furniture had some visible-down to the raw wood dings and nicks. Aesthetically: the 2 deep red/maroon chairs ( 1 with a large visible stain on the seat) did not match/coordinate with the dark earth tones September 27, 2014

No elevator, it's only 2 floors but if you have to carry a few bags it can be a drag. The people made up for any short comings in the lobby or common areas. I would certainly stay here again. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very Quiet, Wonderful Staff With the NYS Thruway and the Rochester Airport a stone's throw away we didn't expect to get much sleep so we were amazed at the total quiet our hotel room provided. Not one sound from the highway or the planes penetrated our room. A miracle! Everyone at our conference was also very impressed with the hardworking, friendly, always ready to help staff. These folks appeared to work around the clock and were always smiling and in good spirits. A very small staff expertly served a couple hundred banquet meals with grace and charm. Our sincere thanks to the people who work at the Rochester Holiday Inn for making our stay memorable and pleasant. Your cordial service made this a great convention experience. September 26, 2014

I gave them a long list of complaints. the one I forgot to mention before was the remote for the TV had a bandage holding the battery cover on it. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by OK for an overnight stay The hotel displayed a good comfortable feeling in the common areas but the rooms need a good upgrade. Mattresses were well used and although according to the pillow cases firm and soft were supposed to be on the bed couldn't tell the difference. Front Desk staff were plesent and helpful. Property needs some renovations but passable for an overnight not great for a long stay. September 7, 2014
