Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Discrepancy in nightly room rate I called to confirm 48 hours before my stay and I was told that I was paid in full at the time of booking as I had booked 3 months earlier When I arrived I was told not only had I not paid, but my rate went up $50 per night. The front desk person spoke over me and was not helpful at all. The manager stayed in the back room and after about 15 minutes and my requesting him to come out - he never came out, but shouted "give the rate." Breakfast order was hung on door but never picked up - so, now breakfast the next day. June 6, 2014

THE ROOM WAS EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE, THE BREAKFAST BUFFET WAS WELL STOCKED AND DELICIOUS. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION 100% I ENJOYED MY STAY AND WOULD RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION TO ALL. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by surprisingly great food I've stayed at this hotel twice in the last 3 weeks. Let me say that the staff was friendly and accommodating from the start. Further, I had three meals here; one breakfast off the menu and 2 room service deliveries. The food was great! I recommend fish tacos, burger, and the pancakes. Only issue was a rattling air conditioner the second stay but it did not keep me awake. Bathroom clean (did find an dirty sock on the floor, but it was behind a chair, rather hidden-no problem). The rooms were quiet and I got good nights sleep without the usual hotels where slamming doors keep one up all night. On my next trips to the South Shore this will be the place I stay. May 19, 2014

It would fill up with black soot/dirt and it was too late to change rooms because it was the morning of checkout when we realized we couldnt shower. This wasn't our orginal room, but what was offered to us for an early check in. A little disappointing that after a night of drinking and dancing that I was unable to shower before my endless commute back to NH, but it was a comfortable nights sleep with probably the most COMFORTABLE pillows I have ever used in my life!! Steve, Frank, and Kathy at the front desk as well as Sam and Bob in the lounge are consumate professionals with whom I enjoy dealing. I travel extensively for business, and sometimes take for granted the stellar service I get at this Holiday Inn. That is until I stay someplace else, and learn to appreciate them all over again. I had the advantage of being in an upgraded suite which I thought was great I loved the openness of the room from the vanity area into the living quarters 2 comments: 1) Bathtub has inadequate shelves to place the smallest of shampoo and other accessories used in the shower ... my wife found it more problematic than me, but I still had to do a balancing act with your complimentary shampoo 2) while I thought that the lighting was excellent (compared to other facilities that I've stayed at), my wife wuold have liked to see a vanity mirror (on a swing arm) because the mirror was to far away for putting on her makeup ... I loved the L shaped counter I requested an email of my invoice (in addition to the one that was provided at the counter) but never received it Overall - a real quality room March 19, 2014

Pullout sheets were not change and found a bra hanging out of the sofa the first night - creeped me out. Received zero towels in our room the second day. Furniture was dirty, ripped and old. Staff and breakfast area were helpful and apologetic for mishaps. Not my best of stays at HI Express, but I guess it could have been worse. December 23, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Good location (close to Boston) and very comfortable beds. Hotel needs to be updated though The beds in this hotel are very comfortable! The doors to the rooms should be replaced and some remodeling is needed. I feel like I stepped back to 1989 when I came into the hotel. Indoor pool would make it a much more attractive place to stay! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beds were very comfortable., We were in town for a wedding.The entire wedding party and most of the guests stayed there as well.The room was very nice. Very clean and plenty of room for the one night stay we had.It was quiet as well.no hallway noise was heard.The bar was still open at the end of the reception and a good amount of us piled in there.There was only one Bartender on duty.He did an amazing job.Especially since it turned out a second group from another wedding was in the bar also.He handled the crowd perfectly.Great service . Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly service, very accomodating Stayed Saturday night with 14 yr old sports team. Was offered a reasonable group rate that included hot buffet breakfast. Staff was extremely helpful opening a conference room for the boys pizza and wings dinner. Location is right off the highway, easy navigaton. Only thing missing was indoor pool. October 23, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent and clean. Could be improved. It was a pretty standard room. It was clean, but there were a few things that could be improved. The air conditioner rattled all night because of some plastic contraption meant to keep the curtain out of the way. It would be nice if you could include real cream and sugar and better coffee in the rooms. The restaurant's breakfast buffet is overpriced. Really disappointed there was no continental breakfast or at least coffee in the lobby. If you're going to keep the bar open until 1am, you should offer food. My husband was still drinking, but at that point I wanted something to eat and there was absolutely nothing close by. Big negative. October 22, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average aging Holiday Inn While the location of this Holiday Inn was convenient, the property itself is in need of an upgrade. From the elevator doors which creak and shutter to the rooms whose decor and furnishings haven't changed much in the last 20 years, this place could use some updating. My king room had a faint mildew smell upon entering, which increased after stepping into the bathroom. On the positive side, my server at breakfast was very pleasant and efficient. The breakfast was delivered hot and tasty. And the bed was very comfortable insuring a good night's rest. October 14, 2013

While we were sleeping in the middle of the night a person broke into the suite room and stole my purse and gifts from the bride. My purse had money, checkbooks giftcards, my keys and my flash drive that I use all the time for work. Anyways my life was basically stolen because security of this hotel- THERE IS NONE!!! the only cameras they have are in the lobby. I had to loose time with the bride because I had to get to the airport for extra security because I did not have my lisense. I also lost the speech that I was supposed to be giving THAT NIGHT at the wedding. Needless to say I feel awful for the bride because I was a ball of emotions on HER wedding day! I have NOT heard from any hotel staff and this happened over the weekend. I feel like this has not been resolved. I am taking off of work in order to obtain all the necessary items that have been stolen from me. No one has followed up or seem like they care when they ruined a weekend for a bride and ruined my time away to spend with her and now to follow up and spend a lot of money on items that I should not have to purchase again. I am very unhappy and disappointed that this hotel did not do more for me and the guests who were in the room. We all could have been hurt as well because we were all sleeping in the room when it was broken into!!!!! WHERE IS SECURITY AT THIS HOTEL!?!? WHERE IS SOMEONE TO COMFORT ME AND LET ME KNOW THAT THEY ARE WORKING ON THE SITUATION?!! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!!!! October 14, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay I stayed at the Holiday Inn Rockland for 4 nights recently while in town on business. Room was clean and comfortable. One of the best hotel room showers I have ever had. There was plenty of hot water and the shower head pressure was great. I ate 2 meals in the on site restaurant. One breakfast, and one dinner. Both were just OK, nothing to brag about but convenient not to have to go out. Close to Boston if you want to go into the city, only about 20 mnutes. I would stay here again if in town on another occasion. September 30, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Bar Found the experience overall as average. But the whole experience was soured by the Thurs & Friday night bartender(s). We were there staying for a Friday wedding, arriving Thursday afternoon. Bartender(s) on duty were apparently ripping off members of our party with inflated and fluctuating prices, money and drinks disappearing off bars, etc. This part of the experience soured the whole stay. I would be embarrassed to offer such a poor selection. One other thing that upset me was being told I wasn't aloud to bring pizza in the restaurant to eat with the men that were staying in my party. We had to all fit into my room with no place to sit. I have never heard of this type of rule before either. Given these two things I will look elsewhere before coming back here. I stay at a lot of Holiday Inns but this one is by far the worse because of what I just stated. I know you want to save money, everyone does but I think what I mentioned is very trivial as far as cost goes. September 9, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bartender Bob I would like to start by saying that your hotel was extremely accommodating on the evening of Sunday September 1'st. We showed up at 2:45 PM and the hotel was experiencing issues with finding enough rooms but they were able to find us a room for a slight early check in. We then attended a friends wedding in the area. Following the reception, a group of individuals from the wedding decided to go to the bar you have on the second floor of the hotel. As I don't have to explain to you, weddings are fun times where you get see family and friends you haven't seen in years. We entered the bar and had the pleasure of being waited on by the bartender, Bob. I have never been treated with such disrespect and rude behavior by a bartender before. It was beyond apparent that Bob did not want us to be there nor did he want to be there. As a person who worked in the restaurant business for 8 years and bartended for 3 of those 8 years, the way you make your money is by having customers. I could not believe the way he was treating people by just absolutely ignoring them if they wanted a drink. Or complaining that people wanted a drink of water. I believe the line used was " I put water in the back of the dam bar or else I would be just sitting back here pouring you guys waters all (expletive) night. " When I bartended I loved seeing customers come through the door, more money in the bartenders pocket. I just wanted to let you know what type of individuals you have representing your establishment on a busy Sunday evening when you have a wedding in town. September 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by the suite was not a SUITE Checked into hotel around 5PM to find our suite was not a suite. Holiday Inn does not have a suites. We needed the extra room as my husband is in end stage emphysema, and sleeps a lot. We were booked for two nights at the hotel. I needed more then one room with 2 beds, thus we booked a suite. Steve, at the front desk bent over backwards to help us (where else were we going to go at that point, my husband oxygen concentrater had already arrived at the hotel) We ended up with two ajoining rooms which worked out well.. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The weather was great and we enjoyed our stay and visiting family in the area. If not for the lack of a suite we would stay at this hotel again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area. September 2, 2013
