Very helpful with providing information of the area and directions for shuttle buses for the 49ers Game at Candle Stick park. Room was clean and comfortable. Appreciated the additional electrical outlets that were available on the desk center. Many times it is difficult to find outlets to charge today's electronics. Only disappointment was the pillows were small (seemed to be about half of the regular size). Highly recommend this hotel for value and location. January 1, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A pretend Holiday Inn This is the worst H Inn I ever stayed and as a Platinum member I have stayed at many IHG hotels. Even their staff told me it's not a good property and that the hotel mgt has been taking away members benefits so much so that there is no benefit to staying at this place. They dont look after members. I tried to speak to the GM and left a couple of msgs on her voice mail. She no call me back. Later I found out she is on leave. There was no vacation msg left on her voice mail and the switchboard staff didn't know. . They claimed to provide high speed in room Internet but its so slow I gave up using it. The facilities in the room so dated and damaged. It's a disgrace to the IHG reputation. January 1, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by extra charge and no answer to my query Hotel was in great position, and front desk staff very helpful and caring- much appreciated by us. Good business/computer room. Room clean, modern. Toilet valve didn't work properly but we fixed it ourselves. Everything fine but SOUR taste left in my mouth because afterwards we discovered an extra charge on my credit card that we do not understand, and what's worse is that we have not received a reply to the email to the hotel querying the extra charge. We certainly didn't damage anything as we left it better than we found it! But how can one recommend a hotel that puts an extra charge for no apparent reason and without explanation on one's credit card after one leaves, AND does not reply to emails about it? Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great choice close to the Wharf On first walking into the lobby, I found it decorated for Christmas which was kind of sweet. There was a bit of a kerfuffle when I first tried to check in. I think I was just a bit early, and I would have been perfectly fine to wait, but oddly enough I was kept waiting a bit at the front desk while the person attempted to figure out what to do with me. I was asked to wait a bit as they rush cleaned my room, which was alright. I sat in the lobby for just a few minutes and then was told my room was ready. I was on the top floor near the end of the hall (what a long walk!) on the even side. I was pleasantly surprised at the gorgeous view I got of Alcatraz. I wished I could see the Golden Gate Bridge, but I was still pleased. I've stayed at other IHG hotels in San Francisco I found it to be a great location very close to a variety of restaurants, and not too far from markets like Safeway and Trader Joes. There is even a bus stop just at the corner which was super convenient. On my final morning, I ventured down to the lobby to investigate coffee at the little coffee shop which serves Starbucks. Well, they couldn't do up a latte so that was beyond unhelpful, though the person I spoke to was really sweet about it. I ended up gravitating toward the dining room where they were still serving up breakfast. So I took advantage of their buffet while it was still open. It was decent; a bit pricey as many hotel breakfast buffets are, but the service was very friendly. I would consider staying at this location again if my plans bring me back to San Francisco. We had a do not disturb sign on te door so I can only assume it was someone other than housekeeping with a master key. I am going to bar the door if I ever choose to stay there again, and I suggest everyone staying there do the same. December 18, 2013

The beds are comfortable and the pillows are wonderful. We had a coffee maker in the room and there was new packets each day. The only drawback was the room faced the street and we could hear a lot of street noise during the night. December 12, 2013

Short walk to get our usual Starbucks fix each morning. Great Spot for that rave run along the bay. The price made the hotel a good value. December 11, 2013

Park your car, go inside, listen to the bell boy joshing loudly with his mate who is waiting for him to go for Pizza and who coincidently had just 'cut me up' on the road outside and then mouthed abuse at me, stand around waiting for the 2 desk staff! #at 6pm in the evening# one of whom was dealing with a couple of Japanese women who wanted, and were getting, immense detail of how to get to the local store #so what's the bell boy for?#, eventually get to check in, no recognition of my Platinum status, then told I had to go back out to the car park to leave my ticket in the car, $55 for overnight parking on top of the already high overnight room rate, up to the room, very tired decoration, short black curly hair in the sink, long black hair in the bath, #I'm bald btw so I know it wasn't mine#. Next time I will stay at the Holiday Inn Express around the corner, better service, better décor and lower cost. December 10, 2013

This facility is very close to Fisherman's Wharf and other local attractions. If you want to see other parts of the city the famous Cable Cars have a station only two blocks away where you can purchase a ticket and board the car. We would definitely stay here again! We were there just for one night, and due to it´s perfect location, we were able to have a footwalk exploring a lot of San Francisco in a very condensed way, without loosing any time.... The polite and knowledgeable staff was always very decent in proposing places to go and the must-sees. As the parking is inside, one does not loose time with searching, also no risc of a parking ticket. Next time we will be in SF, we will definitely stay at the Holiday Inn Fishermans Wharf December 5, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location The hotel was in a great location at fisherman wharf 1 block from the board walk, the room was clean and had a fridge in room. the staff was very friendly and parking garage was under hotel and had a elevator which went from garage to hotel rooms which is very good it was $40 a night for parking with unlimited in and out. but you don't need your car in San Francisco you have the trolley and buses. The main trolley was 1 block south of hotel to hop on and go.. December 3, 2013

We were close to the action but also liked that we had some distance from the big attractions. I didn't like that parking wasn't included in the overall price, where else did they expect us to park?? Overall I would give this hotel a 7/10- not including breakfast and parking was a turn off for me, but I did love that we were close to the Wharf and Ghiradelli Square. December 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy Wharf Access We stayed two nights and enjoyed the San Francisco Wharf and other areas. We had a car so the underground parking was very welcome. The area was secure for our car and safe for us to be out and about. There are great restaurants and shopping nearby. The Muni provides excellent transportation if you do not want to drive including cable cars, light rail, and buses - you do not need a car to stay here. We enjoyed the Exploratorium, Aquarium, bay cruises, Golden Gate Park, Ghiradelli Square, and Boudin's bakery and other food. There are also bike rentals, walking tours, and lots of other attractions we did not have time to sample. We will come here again. November 29, 2013

Hotel room was good been on ground floor, though the view was of the back street skip bins and early hours of morning sounded like a construction site outside our window which was hideous. I phoned the hotel the day after we left San Francisco as I was pretty certain I had left my Sony Black/Silver digital camera on the bed (under the top bedcover) by accident. I asked manager on duty and he put me thru to housekeeping lady whom couldnt understand my english repeating my room number several times. The housekeeper didnt seem to be too concerned and said no camera was found in our room. I had taken most of our holiday pics on this camera/memory card and very dissapointed that the hotels staff werent honest enough to hand the camera in to manager to have them return too me. If there is any way that person who has got there hands on my camera to return the memory card so I can at least have my photos that are important and precious to me. I have already sent email to the hotel and have had no response so far. November 28, 2013

As a part of the IHG Rewards Club we got a free upgrade to microwave/fridge room which was perfect for our 1 year old. The hotel is at a great location, the staff is great, we loved the cleaning ladies. We got late checkout and the beds were comfortable. Also free crib for the little guy. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Check-In Snafu Since 1989 I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Fisherman's Wharf on 33 occasions, totaling 285 nights. This month, I again stayed for 10 nights, beginning November 5. As usual, I had made my reservation online, and requested a specific room where I have stayed many times before, or a nearby room with a similar view. This request has always been cheerfully honored in past visits. At check-in this time, however, I was told that they had no record of my room request, they were 100% booked, and all that was available for me was a second floor room. After much discussion, the lady who was helping me "found" one vacant room on the 5th floor, which I reluctantly accepted. When I got to the room, however, I looked out the window to see only a featureless gray wall. Not even a little graffiti to break the "nothingness." Straining to look down, I could see only dumpsters below. After a little thought, I went back down to registration and told them that this was just too dismal to live with for 10 nights, especially considering the rates I was paying, and if they couldn't find me something better, I would find another hotel. The person I was now talking to asked what room I had originally requested. When I told him, he said that -- miracle of miracles!!! -- that very room was now vacant and I could have it. Of course I took it, and once the unpleasant check-in experience was over, my 10 day stay was very pleasant thereafter. All's well that ends well, I guess, but it still seems mighty strange indeed that the room I wanted all along suddenly became available within just a few minutes after I was told it was unavailable. Consequently, I have learned a lesson. Remembering this check-in snafu, in the future I will call ahead a day or two in advance to reconfirm my room request and make sure I don't get the dreaded "gray wall" again!!! November 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A+ Service, Facilities, Staff from Check-in to Check-out Our first trip to San Francisco was made much more enjoyable and memorable by staying at this great location in Fisherman's Wharf. Check-in was late due to airport schedule but took only a couple of minutes after a very friendly greeting (which was very welcome after a long trip). Room was in tip-top shape, very comfortable beds & very clean and quiet. We had several questions for various staff members and all were very helpful. Over the course of our 4-day stay we had several opportunities to chat with other guests from all over the world, they were all delighted with the hotel, as well as the city. Many were repeat visitors, which spoke volumes. I would not hesitate to highly recommend the Holiday Inn - Fisherman's Wharf. November 21, 2013

My room key didn't work at check in twice and the guy behind the counter acted like it was my fault. So then they switched rooms and I got a room next to the stair well as far away from everything as possible except all the traffic noise down below at the corner of the street. I quit using Holiday Inn a couple of years ago and recently started back and I'm reminded why I left. The staff was snobbish, the room was small and worn out and for cost I was grossly disappointed. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable , the rooms were clean, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Short distance to cable car and tour bus stations as well as fishermans wharf. The location is very convenient to Fisherman's Wharf, the cable cars, buses and other major tourist attractions. The staff were very helpful and friendly which made our stay very enjoyable.
