Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and service On a recent holiday visiting from Australia we stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. The location is very convenient to Fisherman's Wharf, the cable cars, buses and other major tourist attractions. The staff were very helpful and friendly which made our stay very enjoyable. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. November 18, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Our stay in SF Had a good time and hotel was located in a very good spot for transportation. Cable car was one block away and the street car was a block the other direction. Nice person (Flora?) at the desk was able to put us in our room early. Got a room on the top floor corner. We could see the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Room looked like it needed paint and cleaning (rug and chair). We returned at night and went to bed......very loud crowd across the street at a bar. Smokers would step out of the bar to smoke and get noisy. This happened Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights. Tuesday and Wednesday nights were quiet (workdays I guess). If you get back to your room before 2am and it is the weekend...do. Not get this room! November 18, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Service Front Desk was not helpful in getting me a cab when requested. Airline check in kiosk did not have paper. No free continental breakfast like most Holiday Inns. November 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great service and close to the city centre The hotel is very close to the city centre and all the piers. restaurant that is open 24 / 7 which is great to whom that part all night or just take a walk and coming back very late November 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel This property is situated right at Fishermans Warf so you are in the middle of tourist trap San Fran. It s right at the end - or beginning of the F line so it is edy to get out if the area when needed. Ask for a room on the inside, it was very quiet althought the hotel was full and a lot of traffic on te streets around. Good place to sty in San Fran! November 15, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Good experience When you compate location, comfort and price it is worth November 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel in a great city Hotel was perfectly located near Fisherman's Wharf, the cable car departure point and many other places of interest. Everything was great! Glad it was recommended to us and we will recommend it to others! November 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent and Helpful Staff at Holiday Inn We stayed at Holiday Inn for a wedding and was pleasantly surprised to be welcomed by very able staff - Risa who was most helpful. That welcome assured us that we are in good hands. The other staff (cleaning staff) were also polite, friendly and helpful. We just felt very irritated with the soda machine on the third floor which practically "ate up" all US$3 without dispensing soda. Overall, I will return to Holiday Inn Fisherman's Whart and will recommend it to friends visiting the area. November 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent location - will be back This was a great location. ..close to the wharf and action that we wanted. Everything is within walking distance. The price was great for this location. It was a very clean hotel and the ammenities were perfect. I will be recommending this hotel to everyone and will definitely be back! November 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Soft pillows and great service I came back to the City for a Class Reunion, and decided to stay at the hotel vs. family. The $40.00 parking fee was on the high side, but with the special room rate, I didn't mind the cost. When I tried to use the parking card, it got stuck in the machine. I reported the problem to the front desk and was provide instruction in using the card and was able to use the underground parking garage. The room was nice and clean and loved the soft pillows! I had a great time, if only I had more time to do some sightseeing and shopping at the Wharf. November 13, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Holiday Inn experience I've been a Priority Club member since 2010. I've stayed in Holiday Inn hotels across Canada, the United States, Asia and Africa. I've seen more then share of different hotels during that time and I have to say this was by far the worst property I've ever experienced. The franchise should be embarrassed to have their name on the sign outside. The place is old and dated, but beyond that the smell of musk and the visible presence of mould filled my room and the those of colleagues that I was traveling with. Additionally the staff is less then helpful, unless u dress like you come from money and they can smell a tip. Finally, I practically had to beg for IGH benefits, to which they reluctantly grant me only a few. There are plenty of other hotel chains and boutiques in the area... Do yourself a favour and spend the extra the $50-100/ night somewhere else and avoid this property. November 10, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hookers and hidden fees We booked our reservation online for what appeared to be good deal. After booking a nonrefundable room we were then informed of the $40 parking fee and once we checked in we had more fees to pay such as "accommodation fees" and "taxes" after the extra fees we already paid online. The hotel room was clean however, there were escort girls in the hotel lobby and on our floor, my kids were exposed to "adult" activity in the room next to use. Even with the tv on the walls were thin enough to hear everything. We were not there for vacation rather cancer treatment for our son, so having to deal with extra stress from our hotel accommodations was rediculous and we will not stay there again. We would not recommend this hotel. November 9, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great to be in San Francisco The Holiday Inn at Fisherman's is a great location to see the city and explore the many eateries. Boudin's is a personal favorite November 8, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect location and price. This was the best deal for the area despite the $45 parking fee per night. However, the staff was very helpful. We were given a fridge for our room. We also had a problem with the shower drain and the engineer came and fixed it. The beds were very comfortable. The front desk gave us toothpaste when we could not find ours and the front desk had delicious apples out for a snack. The bus to Chinatown left from directly outside the hotel, but the walk was only 1 mile. The hotel was so close to walk the the wharf or Pier 39. November 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by USSanFran1/2Marathon Great location in SF, close to all tourist attractions. November 6, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location and comfortable bed The hotel was clean. It is getting a little outdated. We stayed in a double bed room. It was okay in size. The room was very clean. The bathroom was clean but the age is starting to show. The walls were cracking in the bathroom, didn't take away from it though. The bed was so comfortable. When the windows were open it was loud all night. I could sleep through it but my mom was having a hard time, we just closed the windows and opened the air condition. The location was excellent. We were two blocks from the wharf and shopping, close to the freeway. Overall I would recommend this hotel. November 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Friendly and welcoming Stay We were visiting family and once again stayed at the Holiday Inn Fishermans Wharf, this time for 13 nights. Having arrived late from the U.K. we checked-in and were assigned a room that was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately although it had a lovely view over the swimming pool, it was also close to a busy road and traffic signals, which as a light sleeper kept me awake overnight. On requesting a quieter room the following morning, the receptionists – especially Rheme, could not do enough to assist. She offered us several rooms until we were absolutely happy. What followed was an extremely pleasant stay and I commend this hotel for their friendly and welcoming attitude. San Francisco is expensive and car parking and restaurant prices do not provide good value, so we limited our use of them. However I can say that this is the third time I have stayed at this hotel in the last 10 years and I would be happy to stay here again. November 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Place and near the shore I needed a room for one night while we stayed in San Fran before visiting Alcatraz the next day. One of my biggest concerns was parking the car. Fortunately the park fee (steep at $40 a night) allowed me to leave the car in the hotel lot until 6 PM the following day. This saved me a second parking fee at another downtown lot. We were less than 1/4 mile from Pier 33, so we just walked there and back. It was a great chance to see a bit more of the city too. The hotel itself was very nice, well dressed without feeling stuffy. The room was very comfortable and clean. I loved the fact that the desk had an additional power strip attached for the many electronic gadgets I had with me. The only thing I'd like to see improved is a power plug on both sides of the bed. Since my wife and both use our cell phones for alarm clocks it would be nice to charge them next to the bed. I definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to staying there again in the future. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good location and service Stayed 3 nights with 3 friends in a double queen room. Room is big and comfortable; we didn't feel like we were stepping over one another. The staff were courteous and helpful especially Flora at the check-in counter, and all the bell men who provided good advise on the nearby attractions. The hotel is situated within walking distance to all attractions in Fisherman's Wharf. The area is quiet but safe. October 31, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptional service and amazing staff My wife and I stayed at this location on Oct 24. It is a great spot just two blocks from the wharf. The parking which you pay for is worth the money as it lets you be there the whole day of checkout. If you look at what parking in the area costs, the secured underground parking at the hotel is a bargain! The hotel itself is in a nice neighborhood and is in a typical downtown layout. We were greeted by an incredibly helpful front desk person on check in and throughout our stay all of the staff was great. This hotel's most shining moment came however after we had checked out. We accidentally left my wife's wallet with approx $500.00 cash in the room. Two hours later when we discovered we had left it behind we called ...fearing for the worst. They immediately identified that housekeeping had turned in the wallet and it was safely returned to us with all of the money intact. That level of honesty and dedication from the staff is very commendable! October 28, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Happy Memories Revived I relived happy memories from 30 years ago when my wife and I and our two (then) young children stayed in the "bricks" hotel (as my then-4-year-old son called it). Excellent location, very comfortable, friendly staff. = = = = = My favorite Holiday Inn remains the Holiday Inn Express in Leader Heights, York, Penna. October 26, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Average hotel. Clean. Fair value. Good location. Safe. Underground parking No free coffee for guests in lobby. No free breakfast. Breakfast is over $20 plus tax & tip. Eat down the block for half price. $40 plus taxes per night parking was not obvious when booking. They assume everyone knows that downtown San Fransisco parking is extra. The TV is ok for basic viewing but does not have the latest technology. (No USB or camera connection). The mattress was was barely ok but nothing to write home about. The bench outside was spray washed and not wiped down. Couldn't sit on it in the morning. Has a nice looking swimming pool but I didn't use it. I don't recall seeing a computer room for guests. Maybe I missed it. I used my smartphone for email. October 23, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by NOISY The room facing the external aile the the next buildings, hold the trash containers, so at 6 am they a truck comes to pick up the trash with a lot of noise. Also some vagrants sleep by the trash containers and make noise all night long. October 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hotel The hotel is well situated for the Fisherman's Wharf seafood restaurants and ferries, and away from the bustle of the downtown area. The staff were friendly and helpful, in contrast to a a brief stay at the downtown Westin St Francis. Internet facilities good, and free, and the airline check-in terminal very convenient. Overall a very good stay., but by European standards a bit expensive. October 20, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Thumbs uo Great location 2 blocks from the water. Rooms are nice, customer service was great. Only con was the buffet breakfast was $23 per adult, with taxes and $12 per child. Seems high, but maybe not for San Francisco. 4 stars. October 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great location Great location near restaurants and activities. Decent exercise room. October 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great service and location Next time we will take odd number rooms because even numbered rooms back onto lane where rubbish truck arrives at 6am and is a good alarm. October 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful freindly staff and great location! We have stayed at this property 3 years in a row now, using hotel points earned as platinum member. Staff is very professional and friendly and always take time to say hello or ask if you need anything. Location is perfect for access to everything if you like to walk but cabs, cable cars and buses are right there as well. Restaurant is the only low point, higher prices and less than spectacular food, but there are many excellent places nearby, especially for breakfast. Overall an excellent hotel with impeccable service! October 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great stay great location, close to most attractions (when they are open thanks congress). would return to this location. October 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Front desk staff outstanding Thanks to Joesph on the front desk for upgrading a Rewards Member to the business level and a nicer room than the one originally assigned. We have stayed at this property before and will continue to do so. The location is excellent and I'll look for Joesph the next time I check in. October 15, 2013
