House keeping in this hotel is dysfunctional. Had to wait until 4:30PM to check into my room and when I arrived the room was not cleaned. There were roached in the kitchen and the bathroom light did not work. I had to request another room. When I moved into another room I arrived back to the hotel at 7:30 PM day two and my room had not been cleaned. When I called front desk they said they would have someone to come down. No one showed up, not even to offer clean towels. Later that night as the weather change I realized the heater was not working. Someone came and worked over an hours and could not repair so I ended up moving to a third room. This was not a good experience. Actually the worst experience out of all hotels stay.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CGinHSV Great staff at convenient property
For an older property, this place was in pretty good shape. The staff was very nice and personable. The front desk attendants were knowledgeable about the area and offered suggestions for dinner. Really, my only complaint would be the dated property wasn't super clean. That said, for the value I would stay here again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Poppeaux Improved quality over the years
As usual, the Holiday Inn West was an excellent accommodation for a reasonable price. The stff were friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and, for the most part, very comfortable. The only problems were the couch was not comfortable and the bed squeaked upon entering and getting out of. After fifteen years of staying here for business and leisure, I am satisfied with this hotel.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by sleeplessinshreveport Worst nite on 3 week road trip
I have to admit the low ratings are not all of the hotel's fault but more of the experiences. First, someone needs to monitor the restaurant when it is open. With no customers we couldn't tell if it was open or not and sat for quite a long time. Second, we were placed a very long walk to our room with being seniors we were not ready for a hike. Third and the most distressing is the occupants of the rooms across from us were in/out of each other's rooms slamming doors each time. Then began hanging out in the hallway smoking, drinking & loud conversations. Unfortunately, my husband thought he was being nice and opened our door and asked for them to be quiet. Then we became the target of their attention with banging on our door & covering the peep hole. This went on for several hours including riding in the halls on a luggage cart. In the middle of all of this the electricity went out. So for our last nite of our trip was a sleepless one & we could not wait until we left. A monitoring system for hallways is a must.

The hotel is in need of a major renovation. I was informed by Mark, the hotel manager, that one is scheduled for the near future. That should help bring this hotel up to Holiday Inn standards.
The room was comfortable and clean, just dated a bit.
Aaronika, the front desk girl, was friendly and very accommodating, as was Stanford (Sanford) the bartender in the lounge area and Mark.
The one problem I had was the quality of the liquor available. Their seemed to be an issue with the bar manager's ability to properly stocking premium bottles.
Overall I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, thanks to the staff.
