Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by guess service Upon arrival the front counter attendant I think her name was KT had a very pleasant smile and knowledgeable about the hotel. I ask for a handicap foom but she stated that the bed would be to short for me due to the fact that I'm 6'3 and its a full size bed. She offered me a suite and told me the price but is was out of my budget for the weekend. She offer me another room that would be just as comfortable for myself and my wife. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Aging hotel with good service The hotel staff was nice and friendly. The check in and check out was good, but the stay was less than average. My room was a suite in a separate section in the back of the main part of the hotel. The building that housed the suites felt old and neglected. I don't know what the main part was like, but the section I was in is desperately in need of a makeover. The carpet in the hallway was dirty and had an odor. The detached suites felt like I was at a different hotel. At the end of the business day I didn't feel like walking or driving to the main part of the hotel. I was on a week long business trip. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by terrible heat/air Our room was COLD when we checked in and we could not adjust the temperature. Maintenance came and set it to warm up. During the night it got very HOT and again we could not adjust the temp. Unfortunately we got very little sleep because it was either too cold or way too hot. Apparently the thermostat does not work. We were not told breakfast was not included so we had breakfast there - IHop would have been much better and cheaper. All in all it was not a good experience and will not stay there again. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Think again if this is your choice for hotels. The place was filthy! There was a silver gum wrapper outside my door on the carpet for 3 days until the staff decided to vacuum. Come on, any caring reliable staff walking down the hall could have seen the silver wrapper and picked it up. There was an entire link of sausage next to the garbage can by the 2nd floor elevator that was there from the time I checked in on Monday and was still there when I checked out on the following Sunday, (7 DAYS!). The door on my 'dresser' that contains the refrigerator fell off on Tuesday at 1:30 pm due to the hinge screws being stripped, which I reported immediately in person at the front desk. The lady at the desk feigned making notification by radio (she received no acknowledgement and I doubt she sent a transmission) and assured me it would be repaired that day. Two days later I advised the manager (I assume she was) and it was finally taken care of. I heard other patrons complaining about not having their issues repaired or addressed. The cleaning crew left a large half full drink cup on my dresser when she left from cleaning the room, either that or someone got into my room without my permission. The pool looked as if it had not been cleaned in months and I know the poolside tables were never cleaned because I wiped them off with a white towel and it came out black with filth. Empty drink glasses were outside the main entrance for several days without being picked up. Pay more or pay less ... but DON'T pay here!!! Absolutely THE worst hotel/motel I have ever stayed in! I stayed at the hotel from oct. 7 thru oct 11...we were there for a military reunion...the hotel is clean, comfortable & has a good restaurant...the most impressive aspect of the hotel is the diligence and charm of the very friendly employees who were willing to do the little extras without prodding etc... i stayed on the 6th floor and had a house maid named Esther who is one hardworking and personable lady...at the front desk a clerk named TK and the rest of the desk staff made the stay very welcoming...Erica, a food/bar manager, went the extra mile and maintained a charming and friendly demeanor even when times where hectic...she treated everyone with high regard & respect while doing her job to the upmost: making us all feel like old friends & family...robert & chris in the kitchen staff were so attentive while having great attitudes and people skills...thanks for the stay...i wish all hotels were fortunate enough to have such capable, charming employees...thanks again...alex October 17, 2014

The meeting room was very nice and my room was clean with a really comfortable bed and lots of pillows. The Marketplace restaurant in the hotel lobby has decent food for reasonable prices and the wait staff there are friendly and courteous as well making dining there a pleasant experience. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Building has problems I was there for a military reunion. The staff were outstanding. Although we had problems, the employees were very accommodating in trying to resolve the issues. Unfortunately, they were a bit overwhelmed. The air conditioner was constantly leaking copious amounts of water, which completely soaked ceiling tiles and caused the carpet to be soaked also. Maintenance was there immediately to make a temporary fix, but was not successful. When the a/c was turned off, the leak stopped, but then the room quickly became stuffy and musty. The property has a new manager, Mr. Mendez, who seems to be a very hands on type of guy. I hope he will be able to effect the needed repairs and improvements. I was told that a number of rooms had this same problem. On a positive note, the restaurant was well run, and the food was very good. October 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great service and above and beyond help. My son and I recently spent 5 days at the hotel for a reunion I was attending. We were extremely pleased with the service and the conditions. I would also like to compliment the management, while there one of the reunion members who got sick on the way there had to be hospitalized. The hotel management did everything they could to see that his spouse was taken care of and would be until he got out of the hospital. I was extremely impressed with the way they stepped up for her. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A changed Holiday Inn What a surprise, Holiday Inn is back to a great place to stay. This location has a close comparison with five star Chicago hotels. The beds are equal in quality and comfort. All amenities were provided and everything worked. There was one weak area in the quality and condition of the carpet, but it was still serviceable, just not a five star carpet. I will stay again when in the area, and recommend it to my associates and friends. October 15, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Rooms Nice but Restaurant Service/Quality Is Incompetent Our room and the lobby area were nice. The restaurant service and quality was poor. The breakfast buffet was cold, and the staff often were nowhere to be found. They disappear behind a door, and the customers are left waiting for coffee, juice, spoons, etc. At lunch we were told that there was no soup or salads available, only sandwiches. After we ordered a sandwich and finished it, we were told there WAS soup and salad available. And again the waiter is nowhere in sight. Back behind the closed door in the rear. Are they hiding? The staff needs training. The waitstaff have no idea how to serve customers, and are sadly lacking any knowledge about the food served. We had a group of 20 people having dinner at the hotel one night. Some people were served right away, and others waited over an hour to get their orders. The last person served waited an hour and a half, and his order was a sandwich. Again, the poor waitstaff and lack of training makes for an unhappy time for the customers. We had a banquet for 300 people at the hotel, and they ran out of food. Some tables were finished eating, and others did not get to the buffet for an hour after. Poor planning, organization, and training. This hotel should shut the restaurant down if they cannot do any better. October 15, 2014
