Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mostly good but a few problems Like most hotels today the bed covers are far to heavy. I have to remove the comforter and remake the bed before I can use the bed. The bathroom is very small with little counter space around the sink. The desk is a two tiered unit with a lower level for the computer. Good idea, but the whole unit is far too wide. In the small space available, it was next to impossible to get past the chair at the desk going to from the bathroom or hall door. August 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Secure and Sleepworthy The check-in was easy and efficient. The beds were very comfortable as I was asleep quickly for me, and didn't toss and turn much at all. To me, relaxing in a strange place is dependent upon the security a motel offers. The doors at the end of the halls all lock and require a room key for entrance. The room doors have double locks on them, including a the most sturdy deadbolt lock I have seen. The only room flaw I noticed was a faintly heard conversation from the room next door. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, with the usual waffles we have come to expect, but also 2 meats, link sausage AND bacon. The scrambled eggs were excellent as a bit of corned beef hash was mixed in. A huge bowl of mixed fresh fruit was offered, as well as biscuits and gravy and muffins, yogurt and cereal. I was stuffed enough I didn't need to eat lunch. I leave my computer at home as most Holiday Inns provide a lobby computer as this one did. The pool appeared clean although I didn't use it. I did use the exercise room and was pleased with the number of machine options. The bar appeared cozy but I don't drink. My wife does though so I bring liquor for the room. Checkout was a breeze as they slip a receipt under the door so I just turned in my keycards. This location is superb, just a few blocks from downtown and the new casino. August 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location We arrived around 4:30 pm. We were able to check right in. We got everything set up in our rooms and went down to the hotel restaurant at 5 pm to eat supper. From there we walked to the Tyson Events center for a show. After the show we walked to Perkins - which was located nicely between the events center and the hotel. We never felt uncomfortable about walking in the neighborhood or entering our hotel. The only problem we had was getting out of town the next day we got lost trying to locate our exit. But we used my daughters phone and we were able to get turn by turn directions to get out. We will be back to stay again in a month. For that stay we requested early check in so hopefully we can get in early that day as our concert starts at like 1 pm. August 11, 2014

I didn't like that there wasn't an ice machine on my floor. The air conditioner air was so dry that it made me cough all night. The construction on the road to get there was horrible. Made it very difficult to find the road I needed to get home. But the hotel was very clean and comfortable, except air from the air conditioner was too dry,. August 10, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Rude staff Stayed there and paid the extra money for a suite. Air conditioning had leaked all over the floor. There idea to fix it was put towels on the floor. When I went to talk to the manager the next morning she was very rude to me. I will and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There is much nicer hotels in the area. August 10, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Staying 3 weeks in Sioux City We have stayed here for 5 years and always got great deals and service that has changed. We have been here for 9 days and was giving the price of $83.00 a day but when reservations was complete it went to $93.00. I was told when I called about it they could not change it. All the amenity's that I liked at the motel are no longer offered. I will not extend for the next 2 weeks we will be going to a motel close by. We stay at IHG on average of 200 days a year I need to re look that in the feature. I am platinum with IHG but also Gold with Whyndom and can stay with them cheaper and just as nice rooms. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 3 Weeks in Sioux City Stayed 3 weeks in Sioux City working nearby. This is an older style Holiday Inn. The room was smaller than I am normally use to in a Holiday Inn but it was adequate. The room was clean and quiet and there was no problem with noise from other rooms, The Washer and Dryer were free. detergent could be purchased at the front desk. The Restaurant served good meals at a reasonable price and the bar seemed to be well used. Chili's next door was good. All the staff I met were very nice and helpful. There is a running/walking park just next to the river with miles of trails. August 5, 2014

The interior was far better than I expected, however. The room was adequate, the staff was friendly and I got what I paid for. If you're looking for a luxury getaway, this is not the spot for you. If you're looking for a reasonably priced place to stay with food close by and comfortable beds, this would be the place. Pros: the wait staff at the restaurant and the bar were extremely friendly, despite being overrun with a wedding reception and a baseball tournament in town. They did an excellent job. Con: the room was only 'minimally' cleaned. For instance, the sink was not cleaned for our two-night stay. July 30, 2014

Out of all the holiday inns that I have stayed in, this one was one that I won't go back too. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable, updated but small rooms I had not stayed at this hotel before and called their direct number to make my reservation. I asked twice if there was a microwave and fridge in the room and was put on hold while the lady checked. There was she said. When I checked in, got room 419 (why do I always get the farthest room from the elevator). Room was a single king and updated with med-darker colors. The space between the desk and bed was so small, you had to pull chair out and turn to the side to sit down. When done working at the desk, pull lever to put chair all the way down or it will not fit under the desk. I take a king because there is normally a recliner in the room, but now it is a fixed back chair that is really ugly and not functional. Where do they get these designers? I want comfort in my room, not the latest NY style. A worthless chair and a short legged desk? By the way, there was no microwave oven nor was there a fridge as I was told there was. First night in, I normally eat in the room as I do computer work but at this Hotel I got to thru away my supper and breakfast as no where to warm it up or keep it cool. Staff at desk was friendly and helpful when you called them. No problem there at all. Room was like the rest of property, cramped on a small spot of ground in the downtown area. It was clean and quiet, close to the casino (3 min away) and convention center. July 19, 2014

Great facility, courteous and helpful staff, clean and comfortable room/ furnishings, and excellent restaurant. Mary at the front desk and Samantha at the restaurant were super - people who seemed to enjoy their work and their environment. They were great ambassadors for the Holiday Inn corporation. The staff was pleasant and courteous, picked me up promptly at the airport when I called and even took me to the funeral home that night when I went down to the front desk to ask about taxi service in Soiux City - plus they adjusted my rate downward when they found out I was in town for a funeral. Would definitely chose this hotel again if I'm ever back in Sioux City. July 4, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Experience, Friendliness and Customer Service Hello, Me and my Team Work for a local railroad company. Our First night at the hotel was ok for customer service but once i got to the room it had a stale smell but as far as i could tell everything seemed to be clean. other than a dead roach i found on the floor. However this is not the big issue. After my teams first night, the next morning we found out that the railroad was having a maintenance window that would not allow us to work that day. We went to the front desk and asked for another night. The first guy had no problems, the second guy went to the front desk and the lady at the front desk said "why don't you people book what days you need to stay before arriving" "now im overbooked" I don't know what she meant by YOU People. but the two other men in my team were Hispanic and i am wondering if thats what she meant. So then once i heard how much flack he had gotten i decided to book online to make sure there were still rooms available. After booking online to avoid a disgruntled employee and to make sure i there was actually a room available i went to check back in to my room at 10:40 am. She told me that My room is not available i understood but asked when it would be available. she told me 2 or 3pm. I waited around the lobby in front of both the front desk employees until 2pm and went to the front desk again to ask if i could check in this is just after someone else checked in, in front of me. she told me sorry your room is not available and told me she didn't know when it would be. I then went back and sat down for another 45 minutes in front of them and finally after almost 6 hours of waiting she was able to find me a room that was available. The disregard for me and my team was unbelievable. I Will never stay at the Holiday Inn Sioux City again. I am hoping that Holiday INN Will look into this issue and contact me for with some type of Reimbursement in the form Free Night or Point Reimbursement. I do not typically write bad reviews and I am a very understanding person. I understood that my room was not available due to our bad timing in finding out we would have to stay another night. but having to wait another 6 hours for a room and the rudeness to my employees and I is Inexcusable. I will not book another holiday inn until i hear back from you proofing that customer service is a top priority to you. Thank you. June 30, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by No breakfast included in the price? I find it hard to believe, that in this day and age, there are still motels that charge for a breakfast. Yet, this Holiday Inn does. Our rates were jacked due to a popular event. We checked into the motel and found out that there was no free breakfast. I did check out the breakfast offering. 8.99 plus tax. no beverage included. Have to say and I am being honest, it was cheaper at the neighboring IHOP. June 25, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Reseverations nightmare Called hotel , got transferred to a national reservation system, was told that I would have a king suite with whirlpool tub. Booked 2 months in advanced of the event. Checked in and got not what I booked, but a 2queen bed room ,not the king suite that the reservation said. They gave me a king bed ( handicap room). After i was having a hissy fit. Toilet to close to wall and seat in shower keep falling down while in the shower. Room very clean and comfortable. Then the staff decided that I was booked in several Rooms so they called the room in the middle of the night to see who was booked in the room! I couldn't get back to sleep until 4am. Not a very restful sleep. I don't know who was at falt but I suggest that you triple check your reservation before you arrive!! Out of frustration they did make it right with me, i'm thankful. Always check your reservation with the font desk! Other people had problems also, the poor bride had to call and complain instead of enjoying her weekend! June 10, 2014

Rooms are very small, no closet, no bath tub, bathroom vanity is so small it is difficult to put items on, no refrigerator . TV channel selection is very inconvenient. Too bad the remodel did not expand room space. Rooms are cluttered and difficult. Check in person on Wed. afternoon loves to chop on her gum and is not friendly. Evening staff was very friendly and professional. May 27, 2014
