Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great setting for the area . We have stayed here at least 4 times over the last 10 years. For an older Holiday Inn it is still in good shape. It's location is great for dining and walking to Solomon's Island. The surrounding waters give a relaxing feeling. The pool is great especially if you have kids! A solid built hotel that was nice to be in when Hurricane Andrea passed through plus a near tornado/water spout over the Patuxent River. We felt safe and secure. Much better staying here then on the other side of the bridge. Great staff June 23, 2013

I travel to the area frequently for business and Solomon's Holiday Inn is my preferred choice for lodging. The only reason I don't stay there is because of short notice travel and they have no availability. June 19, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Old and Tired The hotel looks like an office building, the decor is old and tired. The bedroom was untidy. The shower and toilet leaked. The elevator and structures were old and in disrepair. The free cocktail tickets helped me to forgive the lack of tidiness. The breakfast was good the first day, not so good the second. June 18, 2013

Food staff was nice, took care of us without hoovering, and the food was good. We had a nice stay, and will be back. June 10, 2013

To be fair, my comments are directed to the free breakfast available to overnight guests. The quality of the breakfast food is sub-standard --- the scrambled eggs are consistently hard, the one hot cereal offered is tasteless, and the selection of hot food is very limited (for ex.,there is no bacon or other meat to go with the eggs, and you cannot get an omelet or pancakes or waffles). In sharp contrast, I've stayed at many Holiday Inn Express hotels and their complementary breakfasts are far wider in variety, the food is much more appetizing, and you can get what you want close by your table. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Everything was wonderful I have stayed in that area a couple of times before but always at a different hotel. Decided to try a new one. Holiday Inn was SO much better. The price was SO much better. The breakfast was plenty and good. Evening snacks and drinks were enough for a meal, but my son, who lives in the area, and I also had dinner. Excellent!! Thanks, Holiday Inn, for such a pleasant experience. When I need to stay in Solomons again, you will be my choice. Carole April 2, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Broken Shower but otherwise great hotel Very nice hotel, we stayed there two different times in a two week time frame. The first week we stayed in the far wing and had no complaints, great room. But the second week we stayed in the wing that over looks the pool area and we weren't as impressed with that room, it wasn't super clean like the other room, the carpets were really dirty and the shower water was broken the temperature kept going from burning hot to freezing cold no matter what you turned it to. So we had to shower very quickly, other than this we were very happy with with the hotel. Staff was great and the restaurant was very good as well. We would stay there again but would be sure to be in the far wing. March 12, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Misssed the mark this time A one night business stay. Three others in my party; all had separate rooms. Room condition/maintenance was the issue. You could see out in the hallway through crack in door. One of us in our party had an inoperable TV; My tub faucet wouldn't turn off all the way. I have stayed here many times before, usually it is a little better than this visit. March 5, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Front desk service I was never acknowledged as a priority club member. Was being charged the work amount for the room which was booked under the dart tournament group rate. Everytime we went to the front desk the employees were in the back and you had to wait for them to acknowledge that you were even there for assistance. Someone else paid for my room on Sunday at check out. This should have released my monies in my bank account and it did not until Thursday. Almost a whole week. February 16, 2013

Some of the issues: Room cold, heater worked but the room stayed cold all night TV has only a couple stations that were clear. Shower drained slow. I do not like to stand in water while taking a shower. Front desk at check-in was ok, the people seemed to have some problem that was more important that checking me in. The front desk in the morning was terrible. I told the person about the issues and he didn't say anything. He didn't seem to be qualtified to be working at the desk. This may be a good location in the summer when it is ready for tourist, but probably should close in the winter. The manager did call me later that day while I was in a meeting and wanted to talk. I don't want anything to do with him if that is the way he runs a hotel. Don't stay there if you have any choice, at least not in the winter. January 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by room with a great view! I've stayed at this hotel 3 times in the last 6 months, and have enjoyed every stay. This time we stayed for just one night to have a short weekend excursion and see the Solomon' Island Christmas Walk and the light display at nearby Annemarie Gardens. The service at this hotel has been great for every stay. For this most recent visit, we were upgraded to a beautiful king suite with corner windows and a view of the marina. Stunning! It was such a treat. We've had a different type of room for each of our stays, so it appears this hotel has a lot of variety in room types. Rooms with a view of the water or marina are great. On our last stay, we also had the buffet breakfast at the restaurant. The seafood mac-and-cheese was great! Also, there's a local business that rents kayaks, and they use the dock that's at the hotel. Very convenient. We did that over the summer, and had a fun time exploring Back Creek. December 17, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Needs updating...rooms and breakfast This is my second time staying at this hotel. The double-beds, although comfortable need to be changed to queen-size beds. I travel and use Holiday Express Inns and Suites and I believe they are a much better choice. For this being a Holdiay Inn-Select, I am not sure what they offer other than a conference center for meetings. I get a better breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express than what they offer at the Holiday Inn Select. Again, some additional work is need, especially in the bathroom. Our bath tub looked old and worn out and had a few parts that where damaged. However, the people I met were very helpful and kind. December 8, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Stay They put me on third floor as I requested. Those rooms are much cleaner than the first floor in my experience, most likely because they are used less. Room was pretty clean and well taken care of. Overall, the few nights I stayed were good. I used a gym about 5 minutes away on HG Truman road. The fee was $7. It wasn't a great gym, but it was cleaner and better than the hotel's. November 21, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Always Wonderful We have stayed at this Holiday Inn many times before and it is always wonderful. The staff are very friendly and attentive, the grounds are always beautiful, the room is always clean and the beds are the most comfortable you will ever sleep in. There were 6 of us and 3 rooms. When we arrived late Saturday evening, the young lady at the front desk was great. She originally had 3 rooms booked side by side overlooking the pool but we really wanted to see the water and she was kind enough to get all of us rooms with a view of the water which was beautiful. We are always amazed at how comfortable the beds are there along with the quality of the sheets. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. We keep going back when ever we are in the area or just on a weekend retreat. We ate breakfast at the restaurant Sunday morning. 2 got the breakfast buffet and we ordered off of the menu. The food for all of us was delicious and the waitress was great. This is an all around wonderful place to stay! October 26, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ok Hotel I have stayed at this hotel a few times because its close to where I travel for work. Last time I stayed outlets were coming out of the wall, there were long strands of black hair under my blanket. Pretty skeevy. This time I was on the 3rd floor and it seemed cleaner. They also have an open bar area on Mon to Thu which is nice. Overall, the hotel is good, it would be better if cleaner. The gym is rundown. There are signs on the wall "Use at Own Risk". The treadmills are fine, but everything else is rundown and dirty. There was dust and spider webs on the equipment. My biggest concern with the hotel is cleanliness. October 26, 2012

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed I paid extra for the water view and all we could see from the window was a group of trees in the back of a marina, not at all worth paying for. The a/c in the room sounded like a car engine with a broken piston-loud and rattled every time the compressor kicked in. The room decor was ok but dated. There was no soap at all in the room when we checked in, but a very helpful nice housekeeper brought us a bag of hand soap with extra shampoo and conditioner. All in all I was disappointed in my short stay, not up to what I expect from Holiday Inn. I would not book there again. October 12, 2012
