Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Busick31 Relaxing Hockey Weekend
The holiday inn immediately recognized me as a Priority Rewards Member with a free drink and free cookies! Since I was in St. Cloud for hockey i anticipated loud rooms and poor sleep but they placed me up on the third floor away from the pools and it was gloriuously quiet! Room service was fast and delivered within 15 minutes. Overall everything about my two day stay was wonderful. I would definately stay again. The only issue I had was kids under 13 in hottub, which should be adults only due to medical issues with heat and kids. Also they kids thought it was ok to bring balls and toys into the hot tub and those should be saved for the pool Pool was dirty on bottom in spots also.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by De2013 Nice Hotel, but don't waste the extra money for poolside
I brought three girls for a night's fun in St. Cloud and we splurged to get a poolside room. I expected to be able to see the pool from the room, but there is a brick wall there, so unable to see the pool. The room itself was average. The water in the bathroom has a bad odor and the tub spout has a 1" gab between it and the wall. I guess for the added expense of the room I would think management could spend the extra few dollars to have the right tub spout on!
The room offered free Wi-fi, but the speed of the internet is about the same as dial up. For example, I was trying to check to see which movies were playing at the St. cloud movie theater, but it literally took 17 minutes to load the theater's page! That is dial up speed! I tried webpages for other things and the speed was about the same. The television offers local channels and 2 HBO channels. Some of the channels come in and some don't, and the ones that come in are very snowy, just like there is an antenna instead of cable.
Overall, I was dissappointed in the room as I would expect better quality for the extra money.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Kate1623 Different than last time
Our kids biggest item on their birthday list was to return to this specific hotel where we stayed for my husbands state baseball tournament last summer. We were all excited because we enjoyed it so much the last time. It was a great relaxing family atmosphere. There were lots of families spending time together and it was comfortable for everyone to be anywhere around the hotel. We played basketball, volleyball, swam, played ping pong, video games, my kids even made weekend friends. This time it was all older kids participating in tournaments for the weekend. The pools were packed with older kids and my younger kids wern't able to swim becasue of all of the activity and after my 5 and 7yr old were mocked spent the majority of time wanting to play video games and card games in the room with us. We tried the kiddy pool but they quickly noticed that the other kids were many years youger than them and they wanted nothing to do with it. While walking around, playing in the pool and arcades the number of older kids were overwhelming and the contant of their communication was not anything I wanted my boys to hear or be around. It was a little disappointing they wern't enjoying themselves like we all remembered from last time. I completely understand that this was an isolated incident and crazy weekend overall and that this review mainly concentrates on the small negative portion of our stay but I need to emphasize that our food and service was excelent, everything was clean, and the staff amazing. The options of food and activites is fantastic and the boys were able to find windows throughout the day where they swam their little hearts out while the players were at their games. We have stayed at this hotel when it has been less crazy and will not hesitate to come back again and overall enjoyed our weekend together.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Banana55 Comfortable stay
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. This is a very busy hotel on the weekends. The staff worked hard to accommodate and meet everyone's needs. They even had activities for the children.
My only recommendation is to improve on the quality of the meals served in the restaurant. There was a wide variety of choices for Sunday's brunch but everything was cold. Also the cook preparing the omelets was unorganized and served the guests the wrong omelet.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by alexa Great Scones
Banquet staff very nice to work with. Held a meeting there and the first morning we received a variety of deep fat fried rolls and donuts. Not what my people enjoy. The next day we had a variety of freshly baked WARM scones that were the best. Our people raved about the scones. Very accomodating staff.

Food was extremely slow. Restaurants were not full by any means. Not enough staff working. When the food finally arrived it was cold.:(
My recommendation leave the property food meals in a timely fashion.
Overall this site does not match up to my typical H I experience.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hockeymomma Nice hotel good for teams and kids
The hotel has a lot for kids to do: swimming, volleyball, games etc.
We were there for a hockey tournament, our room was comfortable, parking and entrance near room, and plenty of restaurants nearby including the one in the hotel. Service was slow in the restaurant, but food was good and kids eat free. Price was right.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by WildThing Nice Space in the Suite
This hotel has a lot of family friendly activities that could keep young and old entertained for a long time. The pools are amazing! The suite was clean and spacious. The room even had a full size fridge! I was there with 3 other adults, celebrating a 50th birthday. We enjoyed dancing at The Legends in the evening. However, the lead singer of the band (Off Ramp) was heavily intoxicated and he had a poser stand in his place, singing into a beer bottle for much of their performance. Weird & unprofessional. The rest of the band members were embarassed. I tried to sleep on the hide-a-bed and the mattress was lumpy, awkward, and very uncomfortable. Those who slept in the bedroom, said the beds were comfortable, and their room was quiet. The breakfast buffet for $9.95 was nice. The restaurant has a great ambience, good variety on the menu, and excellent food & presentation. I will stay here again, but I will make sure that Off Ramp is not playing at the Legends when we book our stay.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by KarlitoTX TV and heat not working
This location is showing its age and condition is not optimal. TV didn't work when arrived but they came and fixed. When turned on heat that evening just blew cool air. By that point didn't bother to call for repair.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Merryb Great staff, very hospitable
First off the staff was terrific. Plenty of help, very courteous. The down side was this is clearly a "party hotel". I am not against a few beers or a couple glasses of wine. To quote my 26 year old son " I saw less alcohol on Daytona Beach on spring break". The staff handle the crowd well, but if you plan on using the pools or hot tub plan on a crowd of kids with no parents in the pool. The parents are in pool side rooms drinking bottles of whiskey, vodka and beer. The hot tub was so full of kids they were standing up side by side. The other pools were just as crowded. I rented the room hoping to swim my two year grandson and family. But after twenty minutes it was clear the kids had the pools, hot tubs and the adults just wanted to party. The pool area is well supervised with staff, but it is not their job to be the parent. Next visit to St Cloud I will stay somewhere with a small pool and less partying,

The ceilings were dripping very bad abd pans were all over the place and the carpet was wet. Some of the front desk people didn't have a clue. HI needs to fix the leaks and do a major upgrade and remodel.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Swyffels Saturday Stay
The rooms are in desperate need of updating and by far not worth the money charged. I would have never paid as much as I did had I known how disgusting the rooms were. I will NOT stay here again. No noise control; people in the hallways in the middle of the night yelling and pounding on the walls and doors - inexcusable!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lany Great Hotel!
We had a wonderful stay, hotel was clean and the beds were soooo comfortable! We were in St. Cloud for a Volleyball tournament, my daughter loved being able to practice on the courts! My only suggestion would be that the restaurant open a little earlier than 7 am. It created a bit of a time crunch for us and some others who were attending the same tournament. Other than that small detail, we had a fantastic time! Thanks!!

We stayed for 2 nights in the kidzone room which was the perfect room with little kids. There were 2 pools and the play gym area all outside our room. Kids eat free while staying there which was a bonus! Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mnroswellfan Very nice hotel, but could make a few upgrades
The hotel, location and onsite recreation area is wonderful. The kids had a blast and never got board. I however was surprised there was not a microwave in our pool-side room and the only one available was on the third floor. There was also no fan in the bathroom and the heating/cooling unit in our room did not want to seem to cool down. But very clean rooms and nice staff. I think for the price of a pool-side room, they should upgrade the full beds to a queen and add microwaves. But overway, great experience and we will be going back.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by notagain59 Smokers outside every door, cig butts everywhere, NOISY
Noisy, unsupervised children running around all over, huddles of smokers outside virtually entrance, cigarette butts piled around the entrances, trash around the entrances, the rooms show a lot of wear and tear, what could be a less enjoyable overnight stay...? I am a platinum member, I was thanked for being gold...
I won't stay here again.

Room was not as advertised, when brought this to the front desks attention they blew me off and did not try to rectify the problem. I was only there one night so I didn't press the issue. Would not recommend staying at this hotel. The banquet facility was nice with a wonderful staff.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Camnamber fun times with the kiddos!
we had a blast letting our kids let loose and have fun. so many things to do!
the only thing we were disappointed in was the service in the bar area. we were spilled on, and waited an hour for nacho's. we then had to find our waiter to pay him so we could leave. I advised the hotel staff (2 weeks in advance# I would be arriving earlier than the guaranteed check in time #4p). we arrived to St. Cloud at 1pm and our room was not ready until after 4pm.
otherwise good experience

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Gwiz Quite and restful stay and kids got to burn fuel at all the indoor play areas
Wow, for a packed house on a Sunday the day before New Years Eve, this was a blessing. Having packed our bags and headed for home from grandmas, our water pump blew 10 blocks from their home. Having already rearranged the house and loaded up all our gear, we didn't want to traipse back into their house so we went to the nearest Holiday inn and settled in. After the Vikings kicked GB's you know what, we all settled in for a nice delivery pizza and then hubby took the kids to the play area. They had a blast, and got more exercise in one hour than they had been able too the previous 4 days at Grandma's. We all settled in for bed, always fun w/ a toddler, and other than his noise we never heard a peep from outside our room. Everything was clean and the showers wear hot and clean as always with HI. The restaurant staff were nice and very helpful, but the food was as average as any other HI. Funny that the express does a better bfast than the Hotel. Service was excellent, especially considering the packed house they had.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by FREQTRVLR Good Enough for Central Minnesota
For business travelers who dont have time to use all the facilities this is not the hotel for you. The rooms are all facing the "Holidome" area, so expect some noise. This is more for young families and or for Central Minnesotans who want to get away from a dark cold winter night. Seems friendly enough but not condusive to business travelers. Stay at the Holiday Inn Express down the road.

I always love the beds at the Holiday inn! and even better when we forgot our fan they had one for us! We enjoyed the relaxing hot tub, so many amenities all free to guests. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. We both slept well and woke up refreshed. only thing I wished they had the breakfast buffet both Saturday and Sunday! :)

We waited in for 1 hour and 35 minutes for our food - after we had ordered. The waitress nor the manager offered any type of apritiser or snack or even a cocktail - which we would hve gladly paid for. Very poor experiance!
We were told there was a large reception that all the cooks were dealing with. Apparently our party of 4 was not a significant concern.
