Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nothing special The only saving grace for this hotel is two of the bartenders(a couple). The woman at the front desk, who I believe is named, Mariam, makes you feel like she shouldn't be bothered. She always has the same annoyed look on her face and doesn't say much. Her customer service skills are absolutely terrible.Apparently she has been there for years and the other staff have similar issues with her. I have encountered her more than twice like this, so it's not that she was just having a bad day. This is not how I want to be treated and greeted at a hotel. In addition, the rooms are mediocre, very dry due to the window unit air conditioner/heater, and HBO never works. I always leave with a dry throat and allergy issues. On the flip side, the two bartenders are great. They are efficient, funny, nice, and friendly. The others, not so much. They have good beer on tap, if they haven't run out, and the food is decent pub food. The fitness center is mediocre, but I've heard there is a great place to run about a mile away. June 4, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Phone book was how old? Used phone box to look for information. It was a 2011 edition. The TV remote did not work well. Had to push buttons numerous times or hold down to get it to work. My card key did not work on opening an alternate door to come into the building. Otherwise everything else was ok. May 30, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Desk Staff I have never been treated as poorly by your desk staff, particularly the young lady(ies) working the front desk Tuesday May 20 and Wednesday May 21. Called from my room to ask why my password, hotel, would not work for the internet. I called the front desk and sat on hold over 5 minutes. I hung up and called again. When asked if I would hold, I said, "I can't. I already sat on hold for 5 minutes and am in a hurry." Couldn't say anything else because she talked over me and said, "hold please." When she came back several minutes later, I was told very rudely I was wrong, the password was "holiday", and hung up on. Interesting, 10 hours earlier the password was different. Next day when checking out I was told, "We have a $25.00 cancellation fee if you check out earlier than scheduled." I asked if this was Holiday Inn policy or this hotel. I was toild, "All hotels do it." I tried to explain that I travel alll over and in 25 years never heard of this and again was told, "All hotels do it." so I asked, "Aside from here tell me 1?" I was told, "If you don't like it you'll have to speak with someone else." I asked for a Mgr. and was told the same thing again. I was repeatedly talked over and told to speak with someone else, but when I asked who she said to cakll Holiday Inns. I will never stay at this hotel again!!!!! May 28, 2014

The pool area is huge and accommodating, which is very important with over 100 players around. Only had an issue with one employee in our 4 years staying here. We go out of our way to stay here for tournaments that are 15-20 miles away. Awesome facility! May 21, 2014

(2) No microwave in room (3) No fridge in room (4) There was a hot water dispenser available near the restaurant, but it was only plugged in during the morning ! Want a cup of hot tea in the evening ? You have to ask someone to boil some water for you ! (5) Water in bathtub was warm, not hot ! I couldn't relax in the tub, I had to get out, not hot enough !! (6# I was there on Mon & Tues nights, but for some reason I was charged more for the Tuesday night stay. What sense does this make ? I could find another hotel with better amenities for close to half the price of this hotel. #7) They gave me a coupon good for free breakfast buffet but it had a terrible selection. Oatmeal and yogurt ?? That's the best they could do ? May 14, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So comfortable! There was no long wait for check-in. The front desk was friendly and didn't cop an attitude when help was needed. My room was immaculate! Due to long lasting health problems this was the first time I'd stayed at a hotel in over twenty years and I never wished I were home at any time. The beds were so comfortable they eased my pain and I got a couple of good nights rest. Got worn out on Saturday and had to stay in bed for several hours and was pleasantly surprised at the variety of TV channels. Every staff member I met was totally profession and were easy to talk to even with a hectic convention going on. Lord willing we plan to return in October. I would recommend this hotel to anyone April 9, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible experience Noisy, no hot water, had to chase down towels. If this what you wan at a hotel then this the place to stay. I had to run water 10 minutes to get luke warm water with no water pressure. They stuck us in a room that adjoined another room with a party going on. We switched rooms. The heater was noisy and barely worked. Te next day we had to chase down more towels because the maid never returned. Not impressed and it will be the last time that I stay at a holiday inn. I contacted corporate and they didn't care. Never offered any kind of refund or next stay discount. This is the last time. April 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Staff/ Very nice rooms My husband and I always try to stay at this Holiday Inn because it is very close to where our daughter and family lives. This time I stayed by myself because of a family emergency. The staff was very helpful by checking me in early when I stopped by just to see if a room was available without a reservation. It was nice having my key in hand when I returned around midnight and didn't have to go through the check-in process late at night when I was extremely tired. The room was very clean and comfortable. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel! Really enjoyed my stay. Stay there every time I have an event in the area. The staff are wonderful, although there isn't a lot of staff always on hand. The only negative thing I have to say is that IHG has taken away their perks for staying in their hotels. As a member, I used to get a coupon for breakfast or my choice from the snack area. Now you get nothing.... I think IHG needs to reconsider this. Turns me away from books in their hotel chains sometimes. March 26, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by weekend with friends spent the weekend in cleveland with friends. chose this hotel due to the doll and teddy bear show being here. check in was quick and efficent. the lady who checked me in was very pleasant. my room was on the first floor and close to the elevators. the room was clean and comfortable. the beds were comfortable. i requested a 6am wake up call and received it without any issues. check out went without any problems. i didn't try the bar or the restaurant so i can't comment on it. i would stay here again. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Tired Dated Property - Not Recommended I stayed for one night driving in during a big snow storm. The lobby was very wet and they didn't have any floor mats out to attempt to contain the snow melt. Check-in clerk was busy bs'ing with the other clerk going off duty. It took a few minutes for her to acknowledge me and start my check in. It seemed to take an unusually long time to check me in #note: I stay in hotels 75+ nights per year so I have what to compare this experience too.# While the clerk was checking-me in, she gave some attitude to another person who called the front desk on the phone. The room had very dated furniture including a very decrepit vinyl desk chair. Bed was okay but not great. Walls were painted cement. The halls had a smell of stale alcohol. It reminded me of what a college fraternity smelled like the day after a large party. The next morning, the hotel had plowed the lot; however, in the process they plowed all of the guests cars in so we had to walk through an 18 inch snow bank to access our vehicles. Later on in the same week I stayed at the HI in Boardman, OH. It was a night and day experience. The Boardman property was clean, staff was very attentive, and the décor was modern. In summary, I can't find anything to recommend about the HI Cleveland- Strongsville Airport other than close proximity to the OH Turnpike. February 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Started off Shaky, ended GREAT!! I stayed in this hotel New Years Eve due to the weather and I could no longer safely drive another 12 hours home. My first impression of the hotel was great, although the entire parking lot was covered in snow and I couldn't see the spaces. The lobby was well decorated, smelled nice and I was greeted with a warm welcome. My second impression was not so great, the computer systems were down so I couldn't be checked into a room and had to wait. After falling asleep in the lobby for about 30 minutes, the front desk gave me a room key. I grabbed all my bags and hiked to the elevator. I got to the room and key didn't work. I was already irritated so this didn't help. Luckily they had phones in the hallway to call the front desk so I didn't have to walk back to tell them. They apologized and sent security up to the room with a new key. That key still didn't work so security started knocking on the door and jingling the knob. To our surprise someone said "What are you doing?" from inside the darn room. Remind you this was like 2am so I know that customer was scared out of their mind even though she tried to use a manly voice to scare us. :) Anyways, security apologized and I was upgraded to an executive suite. When I got to the room, I immediately forgot about all that just happened. I was so pleased with the way they handled the situation I would recommend it 10 times again. Checkout was a breeze (wish they had free breakfast). Parking lot was still covered in snow but I was well rested. If I'm ever in town, I would stay here again. February 20, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Had to stay for a funeral The faucet in the room dripped. When the heat cycled on in the room, the odor was of cat urine. Drinks in the bar were very expensive. We received a $15 voucher for breakfast and our breakfast was still almost $20 plus tip. For the price paid, definitely NOT a good value. We have stayed in hotels in vacation destinations for much less money that offered many more amenities. February 16, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great fitness center, loud room The location is great! Super close to all sorts of restaurants and the mall. The fitness center was great for a hotel. It had 3 working treadmills and a couple of elipticals and weights which is way more than most hotel gyms. The pool looked nice but I did not swim in it. The room was ok. The A/C was SUPER loud and made it difficult to sleep. I bought some earplugs after my second night. The bathroom was really small so I had to do most of my morning stuff at the desk in the room. They store the soaps and stuff above the toilet and it kept falling down. Kind of annoying. I ordered room service. I got a florentine wrap and a side ceasar salad. The salad was really good and bigger than expected but the wrap was cold when it got to me. I was a little disappointed. If it had been warmer it would have been tasty though! I wish they had a continental breakfast because the breakfast they offered was really expensive. February 10, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Going downhill I have been staying at the Holiday Inn in Strongsville for 13 years. My current schedule is 3 nights every 2 weeks. The office is in downtown Cleveland and I have the option of staying at any one of several hotels in the area. I choose to stay at the Holiday Inn Strongsville location for only one reason any more and that is the staff. They are great! However, the rooms are becoming more and more run down. I only receive one bar of soap, it's hard to get hot water out of some of the bathrooms or the drains don't work very well and some of the blinds are even broke. Most of the TVs don't even have HBO so I don't even bother with TV any more. And where I used to get 3 different coupons and a homemade cookie in my room each night now I receive a coupon for a cold breakfast bar only. It's really getting hard to justify staying in Strongsville and driving 40 minutes into the office each day when I could be staying somewhere closer and nicer. February 10, 2014

The floor-drying fans gave an interesting touch and a great conversation-starter. Comfortable room, good food, well-prepared cocktails. Great overnight stop.
