Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Breck Surly front desk staff
As per earlier reviewers, found the two front desk staffers unfriendly. Not a good first impression of this hotel. Hotel desparately needs a makeover. Really, the lower rates are the only draw.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BD87 Rude Receptionist & Dated Rooms
I am a Priority Club Platinum member and would be the first to recommend Holiday Inns to anyone, but this one proved to be the exception to the rule. I am very easy going and easy to please, but the receptionist working the night shifts was one of the most rude people I have ever dealt with. She wouldn't listen to me when I asked her a simple question, and quite frankly, she seemed bothered by me even being at the front desk. The lady working the front desk during the day was much nicer and helped us out on our stay, but the receptionist that we had our first experience with left us with such a bad taste in our mouths that we just couldn't get over it. And maybe it was because we were so upset with the initial staff experience that we had that it left us looking for other things we were disappointed in, but the rooms seemed very dated as well. Overall, there is absolutely no way I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I would tell you that if I go back to visit my friends in the Vail area again, I will either pay the price to stay at another hotel or resort, or I will make the 30 minute drive up the interstate to stay at another Holiday Inn.

The location is fantastic but unfortunately the customer service is really lacking. I was expecting a little bit more from a Holiday Inn especially since it is in Vail but it was pretty bare-bones. I would recommend only to those that need a place to sleep prior to a great day on the slopes.

This is the only hotel that I've stayed in that doesn't have 24/7 complimentary coffee in the lobby. Instead they have a cheap 50 cents per cup machine that gives you maybe 6 ounces. Yes, they have machines in the rooms, but those never taste good.
