Housekeeping staff cooperative, room, bath clean.
Restaurant: food, staff, menu , price, was very good & enjoyable.
Location was good for our needs.

This Hotel was a very nice hotel, everything there was beautiful! The manager was great he dealt with a mishap we had with one of our rooms right away, although we weren't there too long it was a very comfortable room and would most diff stay there again

Before I made reservations, I requested upgrades or suites, as this was to be a family weekend to remember.
What started out as a weekend treat for the family, turned out to be a lot of fun until it came time to return to the small but adequate rooms.
Will not return to this location as long as the management remains.

The hotel is older and a little worn. For example, there was a hole in our bathroom door. Normally when we have a deluxe room, we have a mini frig and there was none, nor was there a microwave. Also the room was the smallest deluxe room we have ever had in a Holiday Inn/Holiday Inn Express. We were on the executive level.

Very good experience overall. I only wish it was closer to the city center, but since shuttle was available, it wasn't a problem. The cost should be a little lower, though, it will make a big difference.

I stayed at this hotel recently as part of a wedding block. The hotel itself was in good shape and a decent value although not extravagant by any means. My main complaint was that the hotel had a list of guests that were to receive welcome bags prepared by the bride and groom, and yet the front desk staff handed out some of the bags to guests of a different wedding party without checking the list, so they wouldn't have had enough bags for the guests. Some of us that were friends of the bride returned our bags so that other guests arriving later would still receive bags. When I returned my bag, the front desk staff were unapologetic and just shrugged the whole thing off, which was unprofessional.

The mattresses were new as evidenced by the stack of old ones sitting outside the hotel. So the sleeping situation was one of the best we had at a hotel in a while. Otherwise, the place was nice enough for what you would expect. We would have preferred the bath soap to be replenished every day. My wife and I stayed 2 days and had to stretch the single bar of soap so by the time the last shower was taken, there wasn't really enough left so we (I) had to jump out of the shower to grab what was left of the other soap for the sink. A small thing like that is a notable inconvenience just to save a few pennies. The quality of food at the Asian restaurant was just so-so, and the Bear-Fish bar won't be visited by us again. It took us 3 trips to this bar to find out if there was any live entertainment, after having gone in the 1st time to ask but couldn't get a response from any of the employees. We did receive a lame joke by a person we thought was a patron and later realized was the owner himself. He could get the energy to say how he'll do his own striptease for entertainment yet couldn't give us a legitimate response to our question and forced us to have to return 2 more times to find out? We're not liking him much. But overall, even with a couple of small glitches, the hotel was good and we would stay there again. Clean, great sleeping, reasonable price and good location.

We had our wedding block here the Fourth of July weekend, and we are so happy with the result. Having the choice between standard rooms and several different sized condos accommodated all of our guests from our single friends who came up alone to the large families with small children and grandparents. It is next to a McDonald's for fast food on the go and next to the McDonalds was a Safeway for those that chose to stock their fridges and/or cook in the condos. It's less than 5 minutes to drive to town, and many of our guests simply utilized the free shuttles. They were pretty laid back and when questions came up about the contract they didn't give me any trouble and accepted my word which I really appreciated during such a stressful weekend. Also, West Side Cafe has the BEST brunch and is attached to the hotel. We ate their twice and it is worth the wait! Thanks everyone!!

The hotel staff was very friendly and rooms/common areas were clean. Great value for the Vail area. The second floor is the pet floor. We were not aware of this at check-in and would have requested a different floor. While the room was clean and we could see no evidence of pets, my fiance had some allergy issues with the room and you could hear dogs in the hallway in the morning going out to do their business.

Hotel and employees were very nice. However outdoor pool was cold and suppose to be heated. I had to use skimmer to remove leaves and bugs so my kids could swim. Hot tub heater was out also. Steam room would only work when we called the front desk and had them come and reset whichever switch was causing it not to come back on. If these problems wouldn't have existed it would have been a great experience all around.

Over All Satisfied, however, if in vail for vacation, recommend going to a resort type accommodations to take in the whole experience, however, for the 3 nights passing through, was a good economic choice.

This hotel had a very relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I had forgotten to pack a few bathroom supplies, and the staff was eager to help. The service was excellent, and the bed was great! We are planning another trip to Vail in the future and plan on using this hotel again.

I enjoyed my stay at Urbandale Des Moines Holiday Inn Express. The Hotel was exceptional compared to my stay at Holiday Inn Vail. Stayed there last year and was very disappointed in the experience.

Our stay at the Holiday Inn in Vail was outstanding with one small exception, the lack of concierge knowledge at the Front Desk. The rooms outstanding, and clean, with attention paid to creature comforts. We were excited to be there, the Inn did not disappoint us except where it came to the Front Desk understanding of activities and dining establishments other than the three in the Hotel itself. If we knew of more activities in Vail we might have stayed an extra night, since we were traveling with only one goal, our destination, and with a few extra days to kill on the agenda. If I ever come to Vail again, you can bet I will be at the Holiday Inn, because that IS where to stay.

I got an awesome OFF SEASON rate, but the guy at the desk should have told us it was going to be hard finding places to eat. He only recommended the fast food places found at that exit. He should have told us to go back one exit or at least gave us a map of the area. For my cheap rate, I got a 'condo' room. It was just a regular size bedroom. Nothing special that I would consider a 'CONDO'. No frig or mw.
It also felt really strange to stay at a hotel that was empty. I never saw any other guests.

I have been staying at this hotel for 5 years now. They always recognize me as a Platinum member, upgrade me whenever possible, and offer their help. The staff (being locals here in Vail) is great as they can give great advice and info on where to go and what to do. I will continue to stay here as long as this quality service continues.

Rooms are very clean and cozy but the furniture
and hotel appearance are very retro. Reminded me of
visiting holiday inns in the 1980's.
Not close to central vail but I walked it no problem.

Great location but other than the free shuttles to the lifts, there is no facility in the hotel that is geared to skiers.
Staff are also very sticky with late checkout requests regardless of your Rewards Club membership status.
Rooms are decent at best and hot water takes a long time to come through in the shower .

Waited at Lionshead 50 minutes for a shuttle that takes 8 minutes! Called the front desk 3 times while waiting and was told he was just there, or he should be there any minute....NOT! Shuttle driver was indifferent, as was the front desk person, who told me to talk to the bus driver! No refills of the in room coffee! Was awoken by an entire floor of rowdy young guests who arrived at 1AM. They continued with their party, smoking in the floors "Party Room", running up and down the halls, doors slamming, unabated until 4AM. Front desk told me their security detail was on it! What a joke! Avoid this place at all cost!

I have such a great time skiing and you have made my comforts quite complete. Your always so helpful and I'm very pleased with the room the bed and tv and the girls that take care of the room. I use the hot tub which makes my legs ready for the next day - a big deal - and the shuttle is a nice plus. The people at the front desk are always so helpful and always so nice to me. Good location within walking distance to grocery stores & restaurants. Easy Access to Vail public buses, plus they provide free shuttle service. Other than that our stay was mediocre.The facility's outdated & the rooms Very Ratty! The front desk staff is unorganized & difficult to communicate with. 2 different people said our room would be ready within 30 mins, we came back an hour later, was rudely told by different staff that shouldn't have been said & we still had to wait another hour. Worse,our son arrived later, asked for us & Without Calling us or Verifying ID was handed a key & our room number!!?!! Checkout was equally unorginaized. It was SO confusing asking for a wine opener, & about dry cleaning we just had to laugh. Warm chocolate chip cookies after a day of skiing is a nice touch & the Sushi restuarant was Amazing!
But....This place needs work.

Upon arriving, I had to change rooms as the bathtub had no drain or fixture at all - just a large hole leading the pipes. My second room had a drain that wouldn't properly open or close - it was just kind of stuck open. The manager told me it worked and so I kept the room as there as, apparently, no other room available, but it never did work or hold water in the tub. The cleaning staff only visited me 3 times during my lengthy stay, and two of those times were at my direct request. Additionally, it was the loudest hotel I have ever, EVER been in. There appeared to be little or no stripping around the door - the light from the hallway and every little sound - from a footstep to words to anything - could be heard clearly inside the room. I was travelling for work and had no choice in my location; had I had some control, I would have definitely relocated. I will say that the two restaurants in the hotel were very good.

I've been staying here all winter 3-5 nights a week for business. Diego, front desk manager, has been exceptionally professional, pleasant and helpful overseeing my accommodations. Rooms are always clean and quiet. Hoping they upgrade every room to have a fridge and microwave for more convenience. Has been a great "home away from home" this season.
