For a family of six it was the perfect place for us to stay. We had one of the loft rooms which was very nice and spacious. The staff was very friendly.

Outside of building looks tired. Inside is better, it's been updated and they have a wonderful sitting area in the lobby.. Nice useable business center. Room: carpet is ok, linen and furnishings are updated. Very firm mattress but, slept fine. Enjoyed a wonderful, simple meal at the restaurant on property. Much better than a hotel dining room, they must have leased it out because the food was great. We would stay there again.

Soiled carpet, grounds are unkept as well as pool. Did not have a fridge in the room which was requested. Bath did not seem clean but worst of all the pillows were 12 x 12 inches and could not sleep the first nite - had to request full size pillows. Would not recommend at all.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Did not meet my expectations.
I was in Vail for a Wedding and I made my reservation a month prior. The room they gave us was right by the laundry room which I had not noticed when we showed up at night. In the morning I could hear everything going on in the laundry room and the ladies chatting away. This room was the worse. The television did not work so I had to get up and go have breakfast which was not included with the stay. The worst I think was the laundry room I was not able to sleep IN. This really bothered me because I took the time to make the reservation and I got the worst room at the hotel.....

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ricky1963 Enjoyed my Condo Room
I enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Vail, Colorado. I am a Platinum Level IHG Rewards member and was offered an upgrade to one of the hotel's condo rooms on the fourth floor. What a wonderful surprise to open the door to my room and see that my room included a loft area upstairs with two beds. Enjoyed the view from the balcony too. I enjoyed a good breakfast in the Westside Café. Took a quick dip in the swimming pool. Would stay here again if I ever return to the area.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by TravelPro365 Nice property - has 3 restaurants and a massage place attached
Stayed here for work. Average property, nothing extraordinary except it was very convenient to have 3 restaurants attache and having the ability to get a massage so close was a very nice touch! Although I rated this as average, the property itself was very nice and should be rated (not able to above) as a 4 - above average!!
They messed up my reservation though. I reserved Monday thru Friday, however they actually checked me out Monday. When I asked about why my key stopped working they said it was not because they checked me out. However, as I am trying to see my reservation on my IHG account, the last 4 days do not exist. They charged my personal account rather than my business credit card and did not credit me the reward points. Upon calling the hotel, so that I can get a copy of the receipt, they said they would email me them but informed me I have to call corporate to get the reward points straightened out.
Other than trying to get this billing issue straightened out and trying to get receipt emailed to me it was a fine hotel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 4yoyo We always choose this place
When we drive to Las Vegas we always stay at this Holiday Inn which is older but kept up nicely.
They have conveniences in walking distance. My only wish is for a late night menu in the motel otherwise we'll be back.

We had a small, queen bed room.with a very nice balconey and gorgeous views..which was very comfortable...It would have been even better to have had a little refrigerator and microwave...the room was spacious enough to have accommodated it (room 426) ..It could have also accommodated a small rocker recliner in addition to the executive desk chair. I just pulled in a balconey chair so that my husband and I could both have a comfortable place to sit while watching TV.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 26Annie Small condo
We stayed in a 2 queen condo at Vail. The value at Vail was outstanding. The staff was very helpful and very responsive. The manager was extremely friendly and gave us a free upgrade. We certainly enjoyed daily maid service that is no typical in a condo.
On the downside, the condo was drab (ALL brown), plastic flowers?, outdated furnishing, and a poorly poorly equipped kitchen. We had to buy a can opener :( and broiler pan. No crock pot . No hot pads, No large cooking pot. No scissors. Only 2 wine glasses. Basic kitchen items in a ski condo were missing. The walls were very very thin, the beds were hard. But plenty of hot water and very clean!
The shuttle service to the slopes was very convenient with friendly and helpful drivers BUT NEED MORE RUNS between 8-9 and 3-4. Having to wait 25 minutes at 4 PM, sitting and watching other condo vans come 2 and 3Xs while waiting and waiting for Holiday Inn got really old. And when the van finally came, it was over crowded.
Amenities; the hot tub was frequently too hot, the steam room was broken, the treadmill was broken, but the staff responded quickly to resolve the issues.
Overall, seems like the staff was trying very hard to make up for a dated hotel. Seems like Holiday Inn needs to do some major renovations and this would be a top notch hotel

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Skier55 Clean, Comfortable and Convenient
This is our 3rd year going to this hotel for a long ski weekend. We've found the rooms and common areas to be clean and spacious. Our room was nicely re-stocked every day. The ski shuttle was always on time every half hour. There were always clean towels in the jacuzzi and coffee in the lobby. A great cost effective balance between cost and uxury.

I have stayed at the Vail Holiday Inn several times primarily because I'm an executive platinum member with Priority club and can use points to book rooms( Executive Platinum is the top level of loyalty). That being said, I have never been upgraded to a better room for my loyalty which actually happens often around the country. My last visit was MLK weekend 2013. We were supposed to have a king executive room which should include a pullout couch. Annoying that there was no couch. Also had several piles of dog doo on the balcony which speaks for itself(Room 402). The Sauna didn't work either due to no steam. The fitness room was subpar since most of the machines were broken or had issues. The best part of this hotel is the free shuttle to vail village and the neighboring bars. I heard this hotel is supposed to remodel at the end of the season so I'm looking forward to that. Definitely not worth the price of admission and wouldn't stay there if I wasn't staying for free with points. My suggestion, stay at the Frisco newly renovated Holiday inn if you want to stick with the brand. Of course if you are just looking for a bed then this Holiday inn is satisfactory since there were no bugs or anything.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Yampa Condos are the right size and right price
I have been staying at this Holiday Inn for the past five years and in one of the Condominiums the past three and have zero cons. The rooms are very adequate and with several restaurants, spa facilities and a ski shop where one get a 30% discount, everything is there. If you choose to leave the premises, the shuttle runs from the front door (no walking) every thirty (30) minutes to Lionshead and the Village. McDonalds is next door and then a mall with pubs and a liquor store next to that and there's a Safeway next to that - 5 minutes walking which is great as I fly into Vail. The staff is very accommodating from the front desk to housekeeping. You don't even need to wash your dishes as the housekeepers fill and run the dishwasher each day. The full size outdoor pool makes a ski trip all the better, especially when it's snowing. I always get a great deal and I will continue to stay there with my family.

As per earlier reviewers, found the two front desk staffers unfriendly. Not a good first impression of this hotel. Hotel desparately needs a makeover. Really, the lower rates are the only draw.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by BD87 Rude Receptionist & Dated Rooms
I am a Priority Club Platinum member and would be the first to recommend Holiday Inns to anyone, but this one proved to be the exception to the rule. I am very easy going and easy to please, but the receptionist working the night shifts was one of the most rude people I have ever dealt with. She wouldn't listen to me when I asked her a simple question, and quite frankly, she seemed bothered by me even being at the front desk. The lady working the front desk during the day was much nicer and helped us out on our stay, but the receptionist that we had our first experience with left us with such a bad taste in our mouths that we just couldn't get over it. And maybe it was because we were so upset with the initial staff experience that we had that it left us looking for other things we were disappointed in, but the rooms seemed very dated as well. Overall, there is absolutely no way I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I would tell you that if I go back to visit my friends in the Vail area again, I will either pay the price to stay at another hotel or resort, or I will make the 30 minute drive up the interstate to stay at another Holiday Inn.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by esterny Location over service
The location is fantastic but unfortunately the customer service is really lacking. I was expecting a little bit more from a Holiday Inn especially since it is in Vail but it was pretty bare-bones. I would recommend only to those that need a place to sleep prior to a great day on the slopes.

This is the only hotel that I've stayed in that doesn't have 24/7 complimentary coffee in the lobby. Instead they have a cheap 50 cents per cup machine that gives you maybe 6 ounces. Yes, they have machines in the rooms, but those never taste good.
